Abstract

The estimation of power consumption within Pekanbaru area in the coming decades is being analyze using of the software Long-range Energy Alternative Plan Systems (LEAP). The calculation is done by putting some variables of electrical energy consumption and the grow of electric consumption. The result of LEAP analysis is showing the grow of power consumption during period of 2015-2024 by 9,63% per year or in the other word increasement from 1667,43% GWh into 3943,04% GWh. The government and electric company (PLN) need to put attention and effort to make sure the figure of grow are able to realize. The effort is indicated by localizing the potential of power generation to be build within the area of Riau Province. Those potential of power generator includes some renewable energy i.e Microhydro Power Plant, Solar Power Plant Centralized, Solar Street Lighting, and biomass/biogass plant. Some of typical resources can be considered such as water potential, coal potential, and peat potential.Keywords: Electricity, Intensity energy, LEAP, Renewable energy

Abstract

This study describes analysis of tower footing resistance effected backflash voltage across a transmission line 115 kV insulator at PT. Chevron Pacific Indonesia. Back flashover analysis on insulator string provides ATP software for simulation. Analysis process is done by the entire transmission line parameter model such as a tower, lightning impulse, power line conductor and tower footing resistance. The factor of this study includes,front time of lightning stroke, and tower resistance. Simulations is done with lighting strike on the tower and mid-span with four types of impulse. To analysis of tower footing resistance effected back flashover across a transmission system insulator, Simulations are done by varying the tower footing resistance from 1Ω - 30Ω. Over Voltage on insulator for every tower footing resistance will be compare to critical flashover insulator (CFO) in order to obtain the maximum resistance is allowed to avoid the back flashover on insulator.Keyword: Tower fotting resistance, Back flashover, ATP, Insulator

Abstract

With the progress of industry, power electronic equipment is widely used in power system, it has produced serious harmonic distorsion. It goes without saying that harmonic analysis is a very important subject in power system. The influence of harmonics dominant because it is permanent. This harmonic influence spread to energy systems, energy devices, and influential to the energy source. For that it is necessary a tool that is able to overcome these problems so that the electric energy services are not compromised and the reliability was not reduced. Abstract

Solar thermal energy is a renewable energy which is very large in the universe. Indonesia as a tropical country has a huge potential where almost all the islands in Indonesia has solar thermal radiation every year. One of utilization of solar heat is to use solar heat as a source of electrical energy. solar thermal power generation technology, one of which is use a stirling engine as a converter of solar thermal energy into kinetic energy. Then the kinetic energy is connected to a generator that can produce electrical energy. One important part in the generation of solar thermal energy with the stirling engine method is the solar thermal collector which is generally a parabolic shape. In this study, a parabolic collector was designed using TracePro simulation software. TracePro Software is able to simulate solar thermal energy by providing several parameters, then it will display the performance of a paraboilic dish collector against sunlight as well as the parameters needed in research. From the results of the simulation, it was found that the ability of the maximum parabolic collector with 40 Watt/m2 solar radiation input was able to focus solar radiation to 500 W. From the results of the manual calculation there was an error between the simulation and the manual calculation is 16,6 %. Thus the performance of the parabolic dish collector by 83,4 % (efficiency). Abstract

Utilization of renewable energy sources and conversion devices increasingly varied. Sago waste as a source of cleanliness issues, can be viewed as a source of alternative energy with green technologies both of process and product. Construction of biogas power plant (PLTBiogas) is a solution of renewable energy (EBT) to increase energy needs and help to reduce dependence on fuels (fossil energy). To reduce the cost of fuel, optimalize schedule of thermal generating units in the system need to be done . Problem related to the schedule is the Economic Dispatch consists of dividing the load at each generating unit in order to obtain a combination of generating units to meet the load demand with optimum. Dividing of cost of load for each thermal generating unit can be obtained by using the lambda iteration method. Abstract

The New Garuda Sakti substation (GI NGS) is a substation that function to reduce electrical power losses at Pekanbaru region. This substation has five feeders of 20 KV which are distribution the load from the previous feeders supplied from three substations. By calculating the amount of power losses, electricity costs, comparison of power losses before and after in the New Garuda Sakti Substation, it can be seen the effectiveness of the substation construction. The total power losses before being supplied from the GI NGS is 201,801.77 W and after being supplied from the GI NGS is 34,251.94 W. Then, the average power losses per month can be reduced by 43,600.05 W and the average savings cost per month is Rp. 26,468,513.33. Thus, the presence of GI NGS is very effective in reducing electricity losses for the Pekanbaru region and saving operational cost for the company.Keywords : The effectiveness of GI NGS, distribution load, power losses, average power losses
