Abstract

Substation as a component of power system plays an important role in the continuity of the supply of electric to consumers that continues to increase each year. If the electrical load is borne by the substation is greater than the capacity of the substation, the substation will experience overload which resulted in the supply of electricity to consumers stalled. These condition must be anticipated as early as possible by PT. PLN (Persero) Pekanbaru CityArea as the provider of electric energy. In this thesis, the author conducted an analysis the existence and development of 20 KV distribution substation in City of Pekanbaru to evaluatethe existing condition which includes loading the transformer and a broad service area on the substation-substation in the city of Pekanbaru then be combined with forecast informationpeak load growth in every district, the density of the total load and peak load in Pekanbaru Resulsts in development of substation Garuda Sakti occured in 2015 with up rating andaddition of 1 unit transformer, in 2016 the development with addition 1 unit transformer, in 2019 the development with made planning construction of new substations. Results indevelopment of substation Teluk Lembu in 2020 with the addition 1 unit transformer and in 2023 made planning construction of new substation. With the construction of the newsubstation will take over most of substation loading on Garuda Sakti and Teluk Lembu.Keywords : Load growth forecast, Transformer, Develoment of substation

Abstract

To keep stability in power supply distribution, PT. Pulp and Paper used loop distribution system in their main substation. This thing caused possibilty of short-circuit current may exceed circuit breaker’s capability. So we need to limiting that short-circuit current not exceed capability of existing circuit breaker. Short-circuit calculation will be done in main substationbus. With keeping possibilty of short-circuit current in secure level, so possibility of shortcircuit current that will happened in load bus will not exceed circuit breaker’s capability. Fromthe calculation of 3 phase short-circuit current IEC 60909 standard using ETAP Power Station 11, noted that 3 phase short-circuit making current at AC 4, AC 11, and AC 15 substation stillexceed circuit breaker’s capabilty . With added current limiting reactors at outgoing TC 40, TC 11, and TC 15 transformer with value of the reaktans eachone 0.37779 ohm, 0.13203 ohm,and 0.21701 ohm, the short-circuit making current at AC 4 substation decrease from 73.014 kA to 62.734 kA, at AC 11 substation decrease from 67.407 kA to 62.421 kA, and at AC 15substation decrease from 70.930 kA to 62.731 kA. Abstract

This study aimed to analyze and modelling an induction motor. The motor is used in this study is three phases induction motor eight poles, 500 W, 30 V, 50 Hz and 750 rpm. In this study the equivalent circuit is form into an inverse Г transformation equations of three phases induction motor. The porpose of this study is to create a model of three phases induction motor eight poles using inverse Г equivalent circuit, analyzing equations and equivalent circuit models obtained using matlab application, and comparing the results with the results of the actual testing analyst induction motor three phases eight poles.Analysts done on two conditions, no load and load. From direct testing and analysis results were found comparisons percent error of the test results and analysis of induction motor three phases eight poles, there are input voltage when starting is 11%, starting current 23,21%, the influence load to voltage is 2,9%, the effect of load on the starting current 24,3% and during the current reduce is 26%. Abstract

Forecast demand of electrical energy Sultan Syarif Kasim II Pekanbaru years 2017-2027 with linear regression method. Linear regression method used to determine to had forecast or predicting the value of one variable in conjuction with other variables. On method is divided into 3 (three) segments services available in the Sultan Syarif Kasim II Pekanbaru, namely aeronautics, non-aeronautics and cargo segments services. Forecast demand of electrical energy influenced by electric energy consumption. The data used history data for 6 (six) years, namely from year 2011 until 2016. Master plan Sultan Syarif Kasim II Pekanbaru City Province of Riau will further developing the airport and necessary forecast demand of electrical energy. The percentage of growth forecast demand of electrical energy Sultan Syarif Kasim II Pekanbaru is 11,15% per-years will total needs 10.842.880,19 kWh in 2017 and increased until 2027 is 35.376.553,72 kWh.Keywords: electrical energy, linear regression, consumption of electricity, demand of electrical energy

Abstract

The transmission system is the connecting part between the power plant and the distribution system and, will be forwarded to the load. When the fault occurred in the transmission line, it can cause a cut off in the supply of electrical energy to the load, causing losses to consumers. Therefore, a method is needed to identify fault accurately and quickly by reducing search time and speeding up the repair process. In this article, the identification of fault to be carried out is the classification and estimation of fault locations in the 115 kV transmission system. The method to be implemented is Discrete Wavelet Transformation (DWT) and Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN) using the type of Elman. This study applied the DWT and RNN methods to identify short circuit fault that occurs in the transmission line. DWT is aimed at extracting information of transient signals for each phase current and zero sequence current in one cycle when the fault occurred. RNN classification is used to detect a fault with each phase and ground and RNN to estimate the location of fault that occurs in the transmission line. Training and testing data generated by running simulations of each type of short circuit fault using Simulink Matlab R2016a with variation parameters; location point of fault, fault resistance and initial angle of fault. Short circuit fault applied in the transmission line on Simulink model of the Bus LK to Bus BK at a voltage of 115 kV and a line length of 63.3 km. The results obtained are a classification of fault with an accuracy of 100% and, estimation of fault locations with the highest average error value is 1.418568%.Keywords: DWT, estimation of fault, RNN Elman, short circuit.

Abstract

PT. Chevron is one of the largest oil companies in the world. To be able to do maximum production, PT. Chveron need to make sure all goes well with the production facilities. One of the important production facilities is the delivery pumping motor. Duri operation area has 7 pumping motors to be installed with capacity of 550HP each of them. Each of individual pumping motor requires 4,16 kV which supplied by 13,8 kV of distribution network Prior to the installation, it is necessary to have a study to anticipate drop voltage or overvoltage case. This paper proposes capacitor banks installation approach. The approach uses several trial errors in the placement of capacitor in the respective bus within distribution network. The ETAP simulation result shows 4 buses with following configuration i.e bus 1 and bus 2 with 600 kVar, in the other case bus 3 and bus 4 with 300 kVar.Keywords:Voltage drop, feeder distribution network,13,8 kV and 4,16 kV network, capacitor bank

Abstract

This study aimed to obtain the appropriate capacity circuit breaker on the electric power system of Riau using bus impedance matrix method in determining the flow of short circuit in the electric power system of Riau. This research was conducted in two conditions, namely the current state (exsisting) and the conditions at the time of entry of a new generation into the electricity system interconnection network Riau region in this regard Tenayan power plant with a capacity of 2x110 MW.The results showed that the capacity of the circuit breaker that is currently installed on the electrical system Riau region is still larger than the three-phase short-circuit current simteris that may occur at this time of 12,375kA and at the time of entry of a new generation of 13,215kA so it can be said that the electrical system Riau region still able to withstand short circuit currents that may occur at the time of entry of the power supply from new power plants that have been planned.Keyswords: capacity circuit breaker, circuit breaker, short circuit

Abstract

The distribution system is an important part of the electrical energy distribution activities as directly connected to the customers. Therefore, the distribution system is always required to have good reliability. One of solution to increase reliability is using recloser in the medium voltage feeder.Optimal placement of recloser will be able to maximize reliability. In this researched, the author used a Ant Colony Optimizization method in determining the optimal position of recloser. Objective function is combining SAIFI and SAIDI. SAIFI and SAIDI are calculated using section technique method. Simulation calculations using MATLAB (Matrix Laboratory) programming. Program testing was carried out on the Gurami Feeder network at PT. PLN (Persero) ULP West City Pekanbaru Area which distributes electrical energy sourced from the Garuda Sakti Substation. Gurami feeder is a radial distribution network. Based on the application of the ACO method, the best position for placing the addition of a recloser on the main feeder before the distribution transformer is KB-0508 (100kVA). The addition of the recloser with the best position resulted in a reduction in the SAIDI value from the initial value of 16.647 hours/year to 14.040 hours/year and the SAIFI value from the initial value of 18.907 times/year to 15,928 times/year. Abstract

The process of manual fertilization and irrigation of plants has disadvantages such as it requires human labor and is inefficient in the use of fertilizers and water sources. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to design and develop an automatic fertigation system. The method used in this research is a drip fertigation technique where the fertigation liquid that has been stirred is placed in a tank with 100 cm height from ground. With the gravitational force, the fertigation liquid is distributed through pipes, hoses and emitters around the plant. While the control system and automation of fertigation distribution to plants is carried out based on a microcontroller that need the condition of soil moisture values around the plant. If the watering time and humidity values are met, the electronic valve will open so that the fertigation liquid flows from the tank to the plants. Furthermore, in this study the tests were carried out to determine the uniformity coefficient and debit of drip fertigation. From the results, it shows that the emitter’s debit influenced by the liquid level in the tank. The uniformity coefficient obtained in the two tests is greater than 90%. From the two tests carried out from the moisture sensor 1 and 2, it shows the mean percentage error for both sensor is less than 1.7%, while the percentage error of soil moisture sensor 1 is 1.6% and the percentage error of soil moisture sensor 2 is 1%, respectively. Meanwhile, from the ultrasonic sensor testing it was obtained 0% of error. It also shows from the testing conducted that the fertigation system works very well and successfully.
