Abstract

The purpose of this research is to test effectivitytrategy Think Talk Write (TTW) of the ability of problem solving mathematical, and test whether the differences efektivity between strategy Think Talk Write (TTW) with determine saintific of the ability of problem solving mathematical students. The kind of research this quasi his experiments with design research posttest only control group design. Population in research it is a whole students grade VIII of SMP Negeri 34 Batam which consisted of 279 students which are divided into 7 class. echnique the sample researchers used was purposive sampling, where samples selected on a consideration of the principal and math teacher and chosen class VIII G as a class experiment and class VIII E as a class control with 39 students in each class. An instrument used research it will be a test the discussion as much as 4 about that has been tested validitas, reliability, the standart hardship and capacity classification. Based on researchers sig.(2-tailed) = 0.028 < 0.05 and sig.( 2-tailed ) 0.013 < 0.05. So that can be concluded Think Talk Write (TTW) effective in the ability of problem solving mathematical students and there is a difference effectivity between strategy Think Talk Write (TTW) with determine saintific of the ability of problem solving mathematical students.

Abstract

Kemampuan verbal, kemampuan numerik dan kemampuan literasi matematis merupakan kemampuan yang harus dikuasai siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kemampuan verbal dan kemampuan numerik terhadap kemampuan literasi matematis siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian korelasi dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas V SD Negeri 011 Nongsa yang berjumlah 118 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah teknik Sampling Jenuh. Data yang dikumpulkan menggunakan alat tes pilihan ganda telah diperiksa validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Untuk tes kemampuan verbal diperoleh 10 item valid dengan reliabilitas sebesar 0,805, tes kemampuan numerik diperoleh 7 item valid dengan reliabilitas sebesar 0,748, dan tes kemampuan literasi matematis diperoleh 7 item valid dengan reliabilitas sebesar 0,753. Uji prasyarat meliputi uji normalitas, linieritas, heteroskedastisitas, multikolinearitas dan autokorelasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1)terdapat pengaruh antara kemampuan verbal dengan kemampuan literasi matematis terlihat dari nilai signifikansi kemampuan verbal (0,007) < taraf signifikansi (0,05). (2)terdapat pengaruh antara kemampuan numerik dengan kemampuan literasi matematis terlihat dari nilai signifikansi kemampuan numerik (0,002) < taraf signifikansi (0,05). (3)terdapat pengaruh secara bersama–sama antara kemampuan verbal dan kemampuan numerik dengan kemampuan literasi matematis terlihat dari nilai signifikansi (0,000) < taraf signifikansi (0,05).

Abstract

One of the psychological factors that affect problem solving ability is mathematical disposition. Students need a positive mathematical disposition that will make them persistent in facing problems and developing good habits in learning mathematics. The condition of Covid-19 outbreak emphasizes the importance of positive mathematical disposition and good problem solving skills. This study aims at describing students' mathematical problem-solving skills based on mathematical dispositions during the Covid-19 Pandemic. This research belongs to a qualitative descriptive study that involved 27 students in the fourth semester as the research subject. The research data were collected from questionnaires, test descriptions, and interviews. The questionnaire results were used to categorize students' mathematical dispositions. It was followed by an interview with two students selected from each group of mathematical disposition categories. The results of tests and interviews were analyzed based on the category of students' mathematical dispositions. The results of this study showed the three categories of students' mathematical dispositions i.e high, moderate, and low. The students with high mathematical dispositions show good mathematical problem-solving skills because they can perform all indicators of mathematical problem-solving abilities. The students of moderate mathematical disposition were only able to perform the 2-3 indicators. The students of the low mathematical disposition category only fulfilled the 1-2 indicators.

Abstract

Abstrak. Berpikir kreatif sangatlah penting untuk siswa, berpikir kreatif dibutuhkan siswa ketika mendapatkan sebuah masalah yang belum pernah dihadapi sebelumnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa kelas VIII dalam menyelesaikan soal persamaan linear dua variabel. Adapun indikator kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis yang diukur meliputi kelancaran, keluwesan, keaslian dan elaborasi. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII C SMP BP Tahfidz At-Taubah Batam yang berjumlah 18 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan wawancara. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan prosedur menurut Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data dan menarik kesimpulan. Tes berupa soal uraian kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis yang berjumlah 4 soal dengan reliabilitas sebesar 0,67. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, diperoleh 77,78 % subjek yang memenuhi  indikator kelancaran, 16,67 % subjek yang memenuhi indikator keluwesan, 72,22 % subjek memenuhi pada indikator elaborasi dan 83,33 %  subjek yang memenuhi indikator keaslian. Dari hasil yang sudah dipaparkan masih perlu ditingkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa pada indikator keluwesan.Kata kunci: Berpikir Kreatif Matematis, Kemampuan Berpikir, Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel  Abstract. Creative thinking is very important for students, creative thinking is needed when students get a problem that has never been faced before. The purpose of this study was to describe the mathematical creative thinking ability of class VIII students in solving linear equations of two variables. The indicators of mathematical creative thinking skills measured include fluency, flexibility, originality and elaboration. This research is a type of descriptive qualitative research with the research subjects are students of class VIII C SMP BP Tahfidz At-Taubah Batam, totaling 18 students. Data collection techniques using tests and interviews. The data collected were analyzed by Miles and Huberman's procedures which include data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The test is in the form of a description of mathematical creative thinking skills, totaling 4 questions with a reliability of 0.67. Based on the results of the analysis, obtained 77.78% of the subjects who met the fluency indicator, 16.67% of the subjects who met the flexibility indicator, 72.22% of the subjects met the elaboration indicator and 83.33% of the subjects who met the authenticity indicator. From the results that have been presented, it is still necessary to improve students' creative thinking skills on the indicators of flexibility.Keywords: Mathematical Creative Thinking, Thinking Ability, Two Variable Linear Equations

Abstract

Penelitian dilatar belakangi oleh kurangnya pemahaman konsep siswa terhadap pelajaran matematika dan minat belajar matematika siswa masih terbilang rendah. Minat belajar berpengaruh untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa. Tujuan  Penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemahaman konsep berdasarkan minat belajar matematika siswa kelas XI SMK Management Training Systems, dengan pendekatan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan prosedur menurut Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data dan menarik kesimpulan. Adapun indikator pemahaman konsep yang diukur meliputi menyatakan ulang sebuah konsep ( 14I1" ), mengembangkan syarat perlu atau syarat cukup suatu konsep 14I2" , menggunakan prosedur atau operasi tertentu 14I3" , dan mengaplikasikan konsep untuk pemecahan masalah 14I4" . Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan test sebanyak 2 soal yang telah valid dan reliabel ( 14rii"  = 0,52), dan menggunakan instrumen angket dengan 27 butir pernyataan yang telah valid dan reliabel ( 14rii"  = 0,42). Serta diperkuat dengan hasil wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, siswa dengan minat belajar tinggi memenuhi indikator ( 14I1" ), 14 (I2" ), 14(I4" ) tetapi masih kurang dalam indikator 14(I3" ). Siswa dengan minat belajar sedang dapat memenuhi indikator 14(I1" ) dan 14(I2" ), masih terdapat kesalahan pada indikator 14(I3" ) dan 14(I4" ). Siswa dengan minat belajar rendah hanya memenuhi indikator 14(I1" ), tetapi masih kurang dalam indikator 14(I2" ), 14(I3" ), 14(I4" ).

Abstract

This study aims to design a learning trajectory for the Three-Variable Linear Equation System (SPLTV) by applying Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) with the context of typical Riau Islands snacks. The research methodology involved three stages, namely preparing for the experiment, design experiment, and retrospective analysis. Data were collected through documentation and interviews, then analyzed by data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research subjects were 15 3rd semester students of the Mathematics Education Study Program at Riau Islands University. The results of the research are in the form of a hypothetical learning trajectory design in learning SPLTV with the context of typical snacks of the Riau Islands. The learning trajectory begins by linking students' learning experiences with the concepts to be presented. During learning, students apply the SPLTV concept to contextual problems. In the end, they are able to apply the SPLTV concept in different contexts, demonstrating an understanding of the material. This contextualized learning experience plays an important role in improving students' understanding of SPLTV.

Abstract

Ethnomathematics is the study of how a group of individuals in a particular culture understand, communicate, and use cultural ideas and practices that researchers identify as mathematics. To return cultural heritage of traditional house in Batam, Riau Islands, and to further explore the idea of mathematical geometry inherent in the traditional house, so this research aims to explore the ethnomathematics in the Malay Traditional House 'Limas Potong'. This study applied a qualitative approach that was conducted in the Malay Traditional House 'Limas Potong', specifically in the Kampung Melayu neighborhood of Batam City's Nongsa District in the Riau Archipelago. The data used in this research was obtained from these explorations or already-published articles. Observation, interviews, and documentation were used as data collection methods. In this research, data analysis was carried out in two stages: data analysis in the field and data combining. According to the research findings, each decorative and structural part of the Malay Traditional House 'Limas Potong' incorporates mathematical ideas in geometrical shapes and components. Measurement, architectural design, mathematics learning, and application of learning are all related to ethnomathematics in the Malay Traditional House 'Limas Potong'. The construction of the Malay Traditional House 'Limas Potong' can be utilized as a learning resource for students, especially in geometry material, according to some mathematical ideas contained in the structure of the traditional house. Ethnomathematics exploration will inspire teachers to make this a new alternative to developing creativity in students' mathematics learning.

Abstract

AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan modul kalkulus 2 berbasis probingprompting yang praktis dan efektif. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembanganprocedural Instruksional Development Institute (IDI) yang terdiri dari 3 tahap yaitu tahap penentuan(define), tahap pengembangan (develop), dan tahap evaluasi (evaluate).Penelitian ini dibatasi padatahap develop yaitu praktikalitas modul dan tahap evaluate yaitu keefektifan modul. Sedangkan tahapdefine telah dilakukan pada penelitian terdahulu. Instrument yang digunakan adalah angket untukpraktikalitas dan tes untuk melihat keefektifan. Subjek penelitian adalah 22 orang mahasiswa programstudi pendidikan matematika di Universitas Riau Kepulauan. Data hasil angket dianalisis denganmenghitung persentase pencapaian pada setiap aspek, sedangkan data tes dianalisis denganmenghitung persentase jumlah mahasiswa yang mendapat nilai lebih dari 68. Hasil analisis data angketpraktikalitas didapat rata-rata persentase pencapaian aspek secara keseluruhan adalah 81,47%termasuk pada kategori Baik sedangkan hasil analisis skor tes diperoleh rata-rata hasil tes adalah 88,64dengan persentase jumlah mahasiswa yang mendapat nilai lebih dari 68 adalah 81,82%. Dari hasiltersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa modul telah praktis digunakan dan efektif dalam menunjangkompetensi mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Kalkulus 2.Kata Kunci : Kalkulus 2, Probing Prompting, Modul, Praktikalitas AbstractThis research purposed to develop a practical and effective spaced calculus 2 module based onprobing prompting. The research method uses procedural development model of InstructionalDevelopment Institute (IDI) that consist of 3 stages namely define, development, and evaluation stage.This research was focused to develop stage (i.e. the module practicality) and evaluate stage (i.e. themodule effectiveness). While the define stage has been done in previous research. The instrument usedwas a questionnaire for practicality and tests for effectiveness. The subjects were 22 students ofmathematics education program at Universitas Riau Kepulauan. Questionnaire data were analyzed bycalculating percentage of achievement in every aspect, while test data were analyzed by calculatingpercentage of total students who got score more than 68. The result of questionnaire data analysisobtained the average percentage of achievement aspect as a whole was 81.47% included in Goodcategory while the test score analysis results obtained the average test score was 88.64 with thepercentage of the number of students who score more than 68 was 81.82%. From these results it canbe concluded that the module has been practically used and effective in supporting students'competence in space calculus 2.Keywords : calculus 2, probing prompting,module, practicality
