Abstract

This study aims to determine the types of media, methods, materials and to determine the level of effectiveness of agricultural extension communications in the formation of independent farmers at the farmer group level of Usaha Baru in Pukdale Village, East Kupang District, Kupang Regency. The research method used is a survey method. The data used consists of primary data and secondary data. The respondent was determined by using saturated sampling technique or census in which 20 members of the New Usaha Farmer Group were sampled. The data analysis used was descriptive qualitative and Rank Sperman analysis. The results showed that the communication media of agricultural extension in the formation of independent farmers at the farmer group level Effective new businesses were interpersonal media, effective extension communication methods, namely the individual approach method and group approach, effective extension materials, namely all materials on increasing agricultural production and effectiveness. Agricultural extension communication in the formation of independent farmers at the farmer group level of the New Business is in the effective category with a score of 3.96 and a maximum score of 79.25%.

Abstract

This research has been carried out to the simantri program farmers on carrot farming at Wali Village Langke Rembong Subdistrict, Manggarai District, which be held since February to March 2019. The purpose of this study were to determine: (1) the level of farmers' adoption of the simanti program on carrot farming, (2) the significance relationship between socio-economic factors and the level of farmers' adoption of the simantri program on carrot farming. This research uses survey method. The location of the study was determined by Purposive Sampling and Simple Random Sampling, ie 118 farmer group members were joined in 5 farmer groups in Wali Village Langke Rembong Sub-District, Manggarai District. Determination of 54 respondents was determined using the Slovin formula (Sevilla, 1993). The analytical method to determine the level of adoption of farmers in the simantri program in carrot farming is using descriptive qualitative analysis, which is to determine the significance of socio-economic factors with the level of farmers' adoption of the simantri program on carrot farming using the Sperman Rank Correlation Test. The results of the study show that (1) the level of farmers' adoption of the simantri program in the recommended carrot farming in Wali Vilage Langke Rembong Sub-disrtict, Manggarai Regency is in the “medium” category because the percentage of maximum score achievement from the average score (2,11) is 70%. (2) Socio-economic factors that have a significant relationship with the level of farmers' adoption of the simantri program on carrot farming are age, non-formal education, and farm income. While socio-economic factors that have insignificant relationships are formal education, farming experience, and the number of family dependents. Based on the level of adoption of farmers toward the program of simantri on carrot farming is still classified as being medium meaning that there are many components of the technology recommended are not implemented properly, therefore it is still necessary to do technical counseling about carrot cultivation technology as recommended to the farmers.

Abstract

It is known that the interest of farmers in South Amanatun Sub District on the soy bean crop farming had decreased. To return the farmer’s interest on this farming, then on the dates of 15 to 17 of July in 2019 had been runned a training program for farmers related to soy bean seeds processing to become tempe, tofu, and soy bean milk. The aim of this training program was to thange the farmer’s perception on the soy bean crop farming in a positive way. To find out whether or not this aim was achieved, a study had been carried out with the objectives of: (1) to find out farmer’s perception on soy bean crop farming, before and after training; and (2) to analyze the significant change of farmer’s perception after running the training. This study was used a sample with size of 37 farmers, selected randomly from the population of 60 farmers who participated in the training program. Related to objective 1, data were analyzed by the application of such descriptive statistics as: mean score, frequencies, percentage, and distribution table; while for the objective 2, data were analyzed by the use of Wilcoxon Pairs Ranking Test. Results of data analysis indicated that: (1) farmer’s perception on the soybean farming before conducting the training program was in “good enough category” because the percentage value of the farmer’s perception mean score in reaching the maximum score was 54.05% , while after conducting the training program the farmer’s perception was in “ good category” with the percentage value of farmer’s perception mean score in reaching the maximum score was in 72.0%; and (2) after conducting the training of soybean cultivation and seed processing technique had been done, the farmer’s perception on soy bean crop farming was changed significantly, where the probability value (p) of counting Z with the value of 4.8 was 0.0006, far lower than the α value of 0,01.

Abstract

This research had been conducted at Tunganamo Village, Pantai BaruSub-District, Rote Ndao District started from June until July in 2019, with the aim to understand: (1). Farmer group characteristic at Tunganamo Village, and (2). Farmer’s perception toward the roles of Onion Farmer Group at Tunganamo Village, Pantai Baru Sub-District, Rote Ndao District. Data were collected by using a survey method. Renspondents consisted of 43 farmers, were selected randomly from 76 farmer group members. Data measured by likert scale were analyzed by both quantitative and qualitative descriptive statistics. Results of analysis indicated that: (1). The carateristics of onion farmer group located in Tunganamo Village, Pantai Baru Sub-District, Rote Ndao District as follows: there are three farmer groups existed in the research location namely Oliseu farmer group, which consisted of 24 farmers, Edene Ana farmer group which consisted of 27 farmers and Baru Terbit farmer group which consisted of 24 farmers. Those farmer groups were builded in the year of 2008, with the aim to get subsidy from government in relation to agriculture production facilities; and (2). Farmer’s perception on onion farmer group existed in Tunganamo Village, Pantai Baru Sub-District, the District of Rote Ndao was in “good category”, because the percentase of average score in reaching the maximum score was 68,46 % located in the range of 68-83 %.

Abstract

Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan pada akhir tahun 2022, bertujuan mengetahui factor social ekonomi berkorelasi dengan respon petani dalam penerapan inovasi Double Track pada tanaman jagung. Sebanyak 83 petani dipilih secara acak. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode survei. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan korelasi Rank Spearman dengan sistem komputasi SPPS 26. Hasilnya adalah faktor berkorelasi nyata dengan respon petani adalah pendidikan formal, pendidikan nonformal, dan luas lahan.. Dibutuhkan perhatian pemerintah untuk peningkatan kegiatan penyuluhan dan pendampingan dengan metode gabungan yang terdiri dari ceramah, diskusi, pelatihan partisipatif, SLP dan konsultasi pribadi tentang sistem ‘double track’.Sebaliknya, faktor umur, pengalaman berusahatani dan jumlah tanggungan keluarga tidak memiliki korelasi dengan respon petani.

Abstract

This research was conducted in Tunfeu Village, Nekamese District, Kupang Regency from March to April 2021 with the aim of knowing: (1) The level of dynamics of farmer groups in Tunfeu Village, Nekamese District, Kupang Regency which was studied from the aspect of group dynamics elements. (2) The relationship between socio-economic factors of farmer groups (age, education level, experience in farming, land area and number of dependents) with the level of dynamics of farmer groups in Tunfeu Village, Nekamese District, Kupang Regency in farming. The method used in this research is a quantitative approach method. Determination of the location is done purposively. The number of respondents selected was 47, which was taken intentionally from 4 farmer groups in Tunfeu Village. The data collected includes primary data and secondary data. Primary data was obtained through direct interviews with respondents based on a list of questions (Quisoners) that had been prepared in advance; Meanwhile, to obtain secondary data, it is done through searching written documents available in the Agencies and literature related to this research. To find out the first purpose, the data were analyzed using Descriptive Statistical Analysis, namely Group Dynamics Analysis with a Likert Scale approach, while to find out the second purpose the data was analyzed using Spearman's Ladder Correlation. The results of the study are: 1) The dynamics of farmer groups in Tunfeu Village, Nekamese District, Kupang Regency is classified as "Dynam ic" with an average score of 3,39 or (51%). Elements of group pressure and developing and fostering groups that contributed the least amounted to 54%, 57%. 2) Socio-economic factors, namely showing that socio-economic factors such as while age and number of family dependents (tCount<tTable=1,677) do not have a real/significant relationship with farmer group dynamics, education level, farming experience and land area (tCount) >tTable=1,677) has a real/significant relationship with the dynamics of farmer groups in Tunfeu Village, Nekamese District Kupang Regency.
