Abstract

Interactive learning media can be used as a learning tool to improve the numeracy literacy skills of junior high school students, one of which is educational games. Educational games are games that contain educational content and are used to make it easier for students to understand the material provided. Development research using the ADDIE model was used to develop numeracy literacy educational games for junior high school students on statistics material. The population of this study were students of class VIII SMP Kesatrian 1 Semarang. The sample of this research is class VIII A, VIII C, and VIII D. The research design is Posttest Only Control Design. The data collection used is the observation method, the test method, the documentation method. The results of this study indicate that math educational games to improve numeracy literacy skills in statistical material are valid and practical to use based on validation assessments by media experts, material experts, and student response questionnaires. Furthermore, the developed educational game is effectively used in learning mathematics to improve the numeracy literacy skills of junior high school students based on the right-tail side t test, the percentage of student activity, the teacher's ability to manage learning, and student completeness in learning. Android-based math educational games are said to be valid, practical, and effective for improving junior high school students' mathematical numeracy literacy skills in statistics material.

Abstract

This study aims to map the level of assessment literacy among early childhood education (ECE) teachers in Semarang City and to identify the challenges associated with implementing authentic assessment. The study employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive design. The sample consisted of 583 ECE teachers selected through proportionate random sampling. The instrument used was a Likert-scale questionnaire measuring five dimensions: assessment understanding, planning and implementation, recording and data processing, supporting and inhibiting factors, and professional development. The questionnaire was developed based on construct validity procedures and pilot-tested on 30 respondents. Of the initial 31 statement items, 23 were declared valid, with validity coefficients ranging from 0.392 to 0.691. The reliability test produced a Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient of 0.871, indicating high reliability. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including percentages and frequency distributions. The findings indicate that teachers’ assessment literacy is at a moderate level, with stronger technical competence than conceptual and analytical competence. Teachers still experience difficulties in understanding fundamental assessment concepts, determining developmental indicators, and interpreting assessment results for instructional decision-making. In addition, major challenges arise from structural factors, such as limited time, inadequate facilities, insufficient institutional support, and unequal access to professional development opportunities. This study contributes by providing a multidimensional profile of assessment literacy encompassing conceptual, technical, analytical, structural, and professional aspects. The findings may serve as a foundation for the development of a contextual play-based assessment model.

Abstract

The results of the 2022 PISA assessment indicate that the numeracy skills of students in Indonesia remain in the low category, with a score of 366. This represents a decline from the 2018 PISA results, where Indonesia achieved a score of 379 in numeracy. The focus of educators is to enhance students' numeracy skills. This study aims to test the Team Games Tournament (TGT) theory and its application in mathematics learning. The primary objective of this research is to assess the effectiveness of implementing the cooperative TGT approach in improving students' numeracy skills, as measured by their achievement in the Assessment Competency Minimum (AKM) scores. The research employs a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest model. The study population consists of 30 participants, selected from a class of eighth-grade junior high school students using a simple random sampling technique. The research data includes pretest and posttest scores for numeracy, based on the Assessment Competency Minimum (AKM), for the participants. The data is analyzed descriptively with the assistance of SPSS version 23.0 software. Data analysis involved both descriptive and inferential statistical methods. The analysis began with a normality test, followed by a homogeneity test, and concluded with a paired sample t-test to assess the mean difference between the pretest and posttest scores. The results indicated a significant increase in the average score, from 42.33 on the pretest to 59.17 on the posttest. The implementation of the cooperative Team Games Tournament (TGT) approach proved to be effective in enhancing students' numeracy skills, as evidenced by the improvement in their numeracy AKM scores.
