Abstract

Baluran National Park is a Natural Resources Conservation area. Avifauna is a perfect indicator to determine environmental health and the value of biodiversity as a whole. This study aimed to assess the diversity of avifauna species and their abundance in Baluran National Park. This research using a combination line transect and point count method. The results showed that Baluran National Park has high species diversity. Species found during the study were 36 of 24 families. As many as 11% (4 species) of birds are in a large category, 39% (14 species) in a general category, 19% (7 species) in a frequent category, 6% (2 species) in an uncommon category and 25% (9 species) in a rare category. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there are various kinds of avifauna in Baluran National Park. Keywords:  Avifauna,  Baluran National Park, Diversity, Line Transect, Point Count.

Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have proven to contribute to the Indonesian economy. MSMEs have an important role in national development, namely employment, income distribution, rural economic development, increasing non-oil and gas exports, and increasing Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The reality of MSME development is still very difficult to implement, especially in rural areas. Residents with limited knowledge, living in small business activities in the traditional sector, limited infrastructure and government access are one of the factors inhibiting economic development and growth in Indonesia. Therefore, the entrepreneurial village (Entrepreneurs Village) through the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) exists as a solution to an effective economic system that makes it easier for people to be ready to compete in the global market. With the aim of expanding employment opportunities, equal distribution of income, alleviating poverty, creating entrepreneurial villages (Entrepreneurs Village) so as to encourage policies to improve infrastructure, technology, capital, and MSME institutions. This community service activity aims to provide socialization to MSMEs in Karangwedoro Village, Turi, Lamongan so that the businesses being run are able to survive and compete in the global market and grow even better by paying attention to the product, place, promotion and price of the products offered. This community service activity is carried out using the class method as the delivery of material given to MSMEs, direct coaching methods to get different coaching, because the problems faced by each MSME vary and also use direct practice methods so that MSME actors can do it independently. . The results of this community service activity include: 1) MSMEs know the strategy for developing a product, especially through product packaging design, 2) MSMEs know sales tips and tricks through social media, 3) MSMEs learn to create social media accounts as a means of product promotion via Instagram and Bukalapak online sales account, and 4) MSMEs are able to make structured bookkeeping.

Abstract

The planting method greatly affects the growth and carrageenan content of Kappaphycus alvarezii seaweed. In addition, the planting method will also affect the physico-chemical conditions of the waters which are closely related to the growth of K. alvarezii. This study aims to determine the appropriate method of seaweed cultivation so that it can be used as a reference for K. alvarezii farmers to pay more attention to appropriate and appropriate cultivation methods in cultivating K. alvarezii so as to improve the quality of seaweed. This study begins with observations at the sampling location, taking water samples and samples of K. alvarezii seaweed. The research data was processed using SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) version 16.0 software with analysis of variance (One Way ANOVA) to obtain parameters that affect the quality of seaweed so that the appropriate planting method can be determined. The results obtained from this study, the appropriate method for planting K. alvarezii in Palasa using a floating raft, in Lobuk and Padike using the bottom method, while in Tonduk using the long line method.

Abstract

Seaweed cultivation (Kappaphycus alvarezii) is the primary source of livelihood for the coastal communities of Tanjung Village, Pamekasan, Madura. This study aims to examine the role of local wisdom in seaweed conservation, including traditional practices that support the coastal ecosystem. The research employed a qualitative approach using semi-structured interviews conducted with 15 key informants, including seaweed farmers, traditional leaders, and village officials. This was followed by a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with 10 participants from seaweed farmer groups to confirm data and collectively discuss conservation and local wisdom issues. The collected data were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques to establish the relationship between traditional practices and the sustainability of seaweed. The study indicates that the local wisdom practiced by the Tanjung Village community, such as sasi rules (a traditional prohibition system) and traditional planting methods, contributes significantly to the conservation of Kappaphycus alvarezii seaweed. This local wisdom not only preserves the availability of seaweed resources but also strengthens social cohesion within the community. The integration of local wisdom with modern technology has the potential to enhance the effectiveness of conservation and seaweed productivity. Recommendations for advancing the cultivation of Kappaphycus alvarezii in Tanjung Village include: Collaboration between modern science and traditional practices is necessary to develop environmentally friendly and productive cultivation techniques, and the development of a community-based conservation model involving traditional leaders, farmers, and village officials is crucial for sustainable seaweed resource management.
