Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to explain the following. First, the relationship with the reading skills of news writing students class VIII SMP Negeri 24 Padang. Secondly, the relationship between motivation to learn the skills of news writing students class VIII SMP Negeri 24 Padang. Third, the relationship of reading interest and motivation to learn the skills of news writing students classVIII SMP Negeri 24 Padang. The population was classVIII SMP Negeri 24 Padang. Sampling are 40 student performed using proportional random sampling technique. Data collected through questionnaires and performance tests. Questionnaire used to see interest in reading and students' motivation, while performance tests conducted to determine the outcome of news writing skills of students. Analysis and discussion of the data is done in accordance with the concept of descriptive correlational study. Based on the research conducted can be summarized as the following three things. First, there is a significant correlation between interest in reading the news writing skills students class VIII SMP Negeri 24 Padang. Secondly, there is a significant relationship between motivation to learn the skills of news writing students class VIII SMP Negeri 24 Padang. Third, there is a significant relationship between interest in reading and learning motivation together with news writing skills students class VIII SMP Negeri 24 Padang. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menambah wawasan bagi guru terutama guru tingkat dasar tentang penerapan metode Teams Games Tournament (TGT) pembelajaran berbantuan media gambar untuk melatih kemampuan anak dalam membaca. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan prosedur kerja dua siklus yaitu siklus I dan siklus II, terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 2 sekolah dasar yang berjumlah 18 anak, yang terdiri dari 10 anak laki-laki dan 8 anak perempuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatkan dalam proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh guru dan anak didik sehingga berdampak positif terhadap hasil belajar anak didik, dalam hal ini ditunjukkan bahwa anak sudah mampu mengenal simbol-simbol huruf vokal dan konsonan, mampu menyusun huruf vokal dan konsonan yang diacak menjadi sebuah kata. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode Teams Games Tournament berbantuan media gambar dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan anak didik di kelas rendah.Keywords: Teams games tournament, media gambar, kemampuan membaca

Abstract

Expository text is a form of text or writing that contains information and knowledge. In general, expository text itself has the aim of providing an explanation or description of ideas, main ideas, opinions, information, and knowledge to the reader without intending to influence. To support the creation of teacher professionalism in creating effective learning, a Community Partnership Program (PKM) was held. PKM is carried out by guiding and providing training to students at SMP Muhammadiyah Padang, so they can use various learning media. The use of this learning media can help students to be more enthusiastic in the learning process on exposition text material. As a new, innovative learning media, the use of this learning media is the main attraction for students. Students no longer get material about exposition texts with lengthy theoretical presentations, but teachers directly provide learning with interesting learning media, one of which is digital-based audio-visual learning media. Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem that students are not yet skilled at writing anecdotal texts. As well as the lack of an interesting learning model, which makes it difficult for students to understand and write anecdotal texts. This study aims to describe the effect of the write around method on the anecdotal text writing skills of class X students of SMAN 1 Lengayang. This type of research is quantitative research after using the experimental learning model. The design of this research is One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population of this research is all students of class X SMAN 1 Lengayang. The sample in this study were 32 class X students of SMAN 1 Lengayang. The data in this study were the scores of anecdotal text writing skills before and after using the write around model for class X SMA 1 Lengayang. The results of this study can be concluded as follows. First, the level of ability to write anecdotal texts for class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Lengayang before using the Write Around learning method obtained an average score of 57.44 with a classification of 56-65%, namely moderate (S). Second, the ability level of anecdotal text writing skills for class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Lengayang using the Write Around learning method obtained an average score of 67.47 with a classification of 66-75%, which is enough (C). Third, based on the results of the t-test it was concluded that there was an effect of using the Write Around learning method on the ability to write anecdotal text skills in class X SMA Negeri 1 Lengayang because tcount > t_table 6.64 > 1.66 So, it can be concluded that the ability to write anecdotal texts class X SMA Negeri 1 Lengayang using the Write Around method is better than before using the Write Around method.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran Two Stay Two Stray Iterhadap keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Sitiung Kabupaten Dharmasraya. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode pra-ekperimen. Desain penelitian ini adalah One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Sitiung Kabupaten Dharmasraya. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI MIPA 1 yang berjumlah 26 orang. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah skor keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model pembelajaran Two Stay Two Stray. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut ini. Pertama, keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Sitiung Kabupaten Dharmasraya sebelum menggunakan model pembelajaran Two Stay Two Stray memperoleh nilai 56,08 berada pada rentangan 56-65% dengan kualifikasi sedang. Kedua, keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Sitiung Kabupaten Dharmasraya sesudah menggunakan model pembelajaran Two Stay Two Stray memperoleh nilai 66,47 berada pada rentangan 66-75% dengan kualifikasi cukup. Ketiga, berdasarkan uji-t terdapat pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran Two Stay Two Stray terhadap keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Sitiung Kabupaten Dharmasraya karena thitung= 1,88 dan ttabel= 1,71 (1,88>1,71) kriteria pengujian t diterima jika thitung>ttabel dengan kata lain H1 diterima dan H0 ditolak.

Abstract

Jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode korelasional dengan teknik penarikan sampel purposive sampling. Penarikan sampel dilakukan berdasarkan kelas yang memiliki standar deviasi terendah. Sampel penelitian ini satu kelas, peserta didik kelas XI SMA N 2 Solok Selatan dengan jumlah sampel 28 orang. Instrumen penelitian adalah angket dan tes unjuk kerja. Angket digunakan untuk minat baca cerpen dan tes unjuk kerja digunakan untuk keterampilan menulis cerpen siswa kelas XI SMA N 2 Solok Selatan.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan kesimpulan. Pertama, minat baca cerpen siswa kelas XI SMA N 2 Solok Selatan dengan rata-rata hitung 74,62 berada pada kriteria Cukup dengan rentang nilai 66-75% pada skala 10 .Kedua keterampilan menulis cerpen siswa kelas XI SMA N 2 Solok Selatan dengan rata-rata hitung 77,38 berada pada kriteria Baik 76-85% pada skala 10. Ketiga hubungan minat baca cerpen dengan keterampilan menulis cerpen siswa kelas XI SMA N 2 Solok Selatan, terdapat hubungan yang signifikan. Hal ini terlihat dari hasil pengujian yang telah dilakukan bahwa rhitung >rtabel yaitu 2,34 >1,70.

Abstract

Penelitian ini betujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh metode pembelajaran luar kelas (outdoor learning) terhadap keterampilan menulis teks laporan hasil observasi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 3 Kota Solok. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode eksperimen. Desain penelitian ini adalah One Group Pretes-Posttest Design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 3 Kota Solok. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X MIPA 4 SMA Negeri 3 Kota Solok yang berjumlah 30 orang. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah skor keterampilan menulis teksl aporan hasil observasi sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan metode pembelajaran luar kelas (outdoor learning) siswakelas X SMA Negeri 3 Kota Solok. Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikutini. Pertama, keterampilan menulis teks laporan hasil observasi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 3 Kota Solok sebelum menggunakan metode pembelajaran luar kelas (outdoor learning) memperoleh nilai rata-rata 68,06 berada pada rentangan 66-75% dengan kualifikasi yaitu Lebih dari Cukup (LdC). Kedua, keterampilan menulis teks laporan hasil observasi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 3 Kota Solok dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran luar kelas (outdoor learning) memperoleh nilai rata-rata 79,44 berada pada rentangan 76-85% dengan kualifikasi yaitu Baik (B). Ketiga, berdasarkan hasil uji-t terdapat pengaruh metode pembelajaran luar kelas (outdoor learning) terhadap keterampilan menulis teks laporan hasil observasi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 3 Kota Solok karena thitung>ttabel (5,65>1,70).

Abstract

This community service was carried out to improve the advertising writing skills of eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 27 Padang. The training was conducted using audio and visuals, as an approach believed to motivate students' creativity. In this digital era that prioritizes the speed of information, the ability to construct persuasive messages through advertising has become a skill that cannot be ignored. Initial observations at SMP Negeri 27 Padang showed a challenge: many students still had difficulty composing words and developing ideas for advertising, while the learning methods often used seemed ineffective. The research method used was a qualitative method with descriptive analysis techniques. The participants involved were 32 eighth-grade students who took part in the advertising text writing lesson. The results obtained from this training were students able to write advertising texts more creatively. Student motivation in learning increased and students' ability to develop ideas in writing advertising texts became better and more structured.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of applying the Discovery Learning model on students’ news writing skills in Grade VII Phase D at SMP Negeri 33 Padang. The problem addressed was students’ limited creativity and difficulties in understanding news structure, mastering the 5W+1H elements, and presenting information clearly and coherently. A quantitative approach with a one group pretest-posttest experimental design was employed. The sample consisted of class VII.5 students selected through purposive sampling, and data were obtained from writing performance tests administered before and after the treatment. The results indicate a significant improvement in students’ writing skills after using the Discovery Learning model. The average pretest score was 64.44 (fair), which increased to 81.11 (good) in the posttest. Enhancements were observed in all aspects of news writing, including titles, leads, body, and conclusions. Statistical analysis confirmed that tcount exceeded ttable at a 95% significance level, proving the positive impact of Discovery Learning on students’ writing performance. In conclusion, this model effectively fosters active participation, creativity, and the ability to structure news information systematically and communicatively.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability to read hikayat texts of students due to their lack of understanding in understanding the content of reading and classical Malay language contained in the hikayat texts. The objectives of this research are as follows. First, to describe the ability to read hikayat texts without using the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model of class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Pantai Cermin. Second, to describe the ability to read hikayat texts using the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model of class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Pantai Cermin. Third, to describe the effectiveness of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model on the ability to read hikayat texts phase E of SMA Negeri 1 Pantai Cermin. This type of research is quantitative research with experimental research methods. The design of this research is a posttest-only control design. The population of this research is students of class XE-6 (control class) totaling 34 students and XE-3 (experimental class) totaling 34 students. The sampling technique of this research is purposive sampling. The data in this research is in the form of objective test scores based on hikayat text indicators. The results of the study based on the results of the analysis of the research data conducted showed that there was a significant influence of the use of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model on the ability to read the story text of class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Pantai Cermin because thitung>t tabel (2.963>1.170), so H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted, meaning that there was an influence of the use of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model on the ability to read the story text of class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Pantai Cermin.
