Abstract

This study aims to design a video script for the Travelin application at PT. Angkasa Pura II Palembang to facilitate customers' digital check-in and assist support officers. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) approach adapted from Plomp (1997) and utilising a qualitative descriptive design, the script design process included five stages: (1) preliminary investigation, (2) design, (3) realisation/development, (4) testing, evaluation, and revision, and (5) implementation. Data collection techniques comprised literature reviews and interviews, with thematic analysis applied to the interview data. Three experts, selected purposely—a scriptwriting expert, an Indonesian language expert, and an English language expert—participated in the script revision. Key findings from experts’ feedback highlighted the need to simplify sentences, enhance content engagement, incorporate contemporary language, and avoid redundancy. Language-specific suggestions included refining diction, addressing Indonesian affixes (e.g., di-), italicising English terms, and converting complex sentences to simpler structures. This refined script is anticipated to enhance the effectiveness of the Travelin application video at PT. Angkasa Pura II Palembang offers clear guidance to customers and improves digital security check-in processes.

Abstract

This study examines the creation and application of an institutional promotional video integrating student-centered scriptwriting and AI voice generation. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness, strengths, and weaknesses of the outcome product from pedagogical and technological perspectives. The study uses a qualitative descriptive design to analyze the product along four dimensions based on four key aspects; content quality, narration, technical quality, and promotional effectiveness. The data were collected through documentation, reflective observation, and review of project records. Findings indicate that the integration of student-centered learning in script development encouraged creativity, collaboration, and ownership, while the use of AI voice technology enhanced cost efficiency and consistency in narration. However, limitations were detected in the emotional expressiveness of the AI- generated voice and the briefness of the video, which reduced narrative depth. The study suggests that integrating student‐centered methods using AI techniques can provide a pedagogically significant and technically interesting model for institutional promotion. Suggested recommendations include the use of hybrid forms, continuing students' participation in post-production, and carrying out studies of audience perception in future research.

Abstract

Curriculum reform remains a central strategy for improving educational quality; however, its success largely depends on teachers’ perspectives and readiness to implement reform. This study investigates the perspectives of Indonesian secondary school teachers in South Sumatra regarding recent curriculum reforms, identifies the resources that influence these perspectives, and examines the role of demographic characteristics. Employing a quantitative cross-sectional survey design, data were collected from 342 secondary school teachers using a structured questionnaire. Analyses included descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, independent samples t-tests, one-way ANOVA, post-hoc Tukey HSD tests, and multiple regression. The findings indicate that teachers hold moderately positive but cautious perspectives toward curriculum reform (M = 3.47). Teachers strongly acknowledge the necessity of curriculum reform, yet express reservations regarding implementation challenges and the adequacy of support and resources. Correlation and regression analyses reveal that adequate training, administrative support, and resource availability significantly and positively influence teachers’ perspectives, collectively explaining 52.3% of the variance. Demographic analyses show urban teachers report more positive perspectives than rural ones, while early-career teachers hold more favorable views than their more experienced counterparts. Overall, the results suggest that teachers are not resistant to curriculum reform; rather, their perspectives are shaped by the extent of institutional support, professional learning opportunities, and contextual conditions. The study highlights the need for sustained professional development, strong school leadership, and equitable resource distribution, particularly in rural schools, to ensure effective curriculum implementation.
