Abstract

The research aimed at investigating whether there was the massage effect on the growth and development of the infants of 3 – 4 months old in the working area of PHC Kanjilo, Barombong District, Gowa Regency. This was a quasy experiment research with the pretest-posttest method on the treatment and control groups. Sample consisted of 38 subjects who were selected by the purposive sampling technique. The samples were divided into 2 group, namely the treatment group ( n=19) and control group (n=19) by matching the same age and sex in the two groups. The variables measured were the body weight gain, height gain, development indicator change. The research used the statistic test of Wilcoxon signed rank test, Mann Whitney U test, McNemar test with the significance level of 0.05. The research result indicates that after the massage has been carried out for 30 days, there is the significant change particularly on the body weight gain variable with the value of p = 0,008 (<0.05) and the development indicator change variable with the value of p = 0.05. While for the height, the change is not significant between the infants who are given the massage and are not given the massage with the value of p = 0,091 (> 0.05), likewise, the development indicator change is not significant on the infants who are not massaged (p=0,317).

Abstract

Hypertension in pregnancy is a common complication of pregnancy and the main cause of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality in the world. This includes chronic hypertension, gestational hypertension, preeclampsia/eclampsia. The incidence of hypertension in pregnancy can be influenced by several factors (multiple causation). Maternal age (<20 or ≥ 35 years), primigravida, nulliparity and increased Body Mass Index (BMI) are risk factors for hypertension in pregnancy. The impact on pregnancy and health greatly influences the conditions and circumstances during pregnancy. The aim of this paper is to explain the risk factors that can cause hypertension during pregnancy. This research uses the review article method. The data source for this research comes from published research results. Abstract

Throughout the world, infectious diseases are a problem that affects both developed and developing countries. After lung infections, urinary tract infections rank as the second most common health problem. Anatomically, women are more likely than men to experience urinary tract infections due to the shorter urethra in women. Pregnant women's bodies undergo structural and physiological changes that increase their chances of developing urinary tract infections. In pregnant women alone, there is a 20% incidence of urinary tract infections (UTI). Literature review with narrative review design.The results obtained were that pregnant women were more at risk of developing UTIs.Oobesity, multiparity, holding back urination, sexual relations and individual hygiene are some of the risk factors that will occurcan increase the risk of a more serious UTI.

Abstract

Urinary tract infections are one of the most common health problems. There are several factors that influence the occurrence of urinary tract infections during pregnancy, namely, age, education, employment, income, gestational age also influence the occurrence of UTI. To analyze the factors that influence the incidence of urinary tract infections in pregnancy. This type of research uses Literature Review. A literature review study is a method used to collect data or sources related to a particular topic which can be obtained from various sources such as journals, books, the internet and other libraries. The design of this research is a Narrative Review design by analyzing 20 journals. Got it20 journals were reviewed, regarding the influence of the incidence of urinary tract infections on pregnancy where education, employment, level of knowledge, sexual relations, genital hygiene, socio-economics had a significant influence. There is a significant relationship between education, employment, level of knowledge, sexual relations, genital hygiene, socio-economics and the incidence of UTIs in pregnancy.

Abstract

Hypertension is blood pressure more than 140/90 mmHg. Hypertension is a world problem that has hit the world. According to WHO (World Health Organization) information, pregnancy hypertension is one of the causes of maternal and infant morbidity and death throughout the world. The novelty in this research is because it examines Literature Review: Factors Associated with Hypertension in Pregnancy. The aim of this research is to determine the factors associated with the occurrence of hypertension in pregnant women. This research method is that the literature is taken from 14 ISSN journals. At the search stage, journals were taken from Elsevier and Google Scholar. The articles were taken from 2018-2023 using the keywords AND hypertension AND pregnancy factors. The results of this research taken from several journals show that the factors related to hypertension in pregnancy are age, while the most dominant factor is age. parity, nulliparity, primipara, preeclampsia, obesity, education, employment, food consumption, and family.

Abstract

Anxiety during pregnancy and labor is one of the psychological factors that can affect the labor process , including the duration of labor in Stage II. High anxiety can lead to ineffective uterine contractions , thus prolonging the duration of labor . This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of anxiety in pregnancy women with the duration of labor during stage II at the Bara- Baraya Makassar Health Center in 2024. This study used an observational analytics design with a cross-sectional approach . The research sample was pregnant women who underwent normal labor at the Bara- Baraya Health Center, which was selected using purposive sampling technique . Measurements of anxiety level was carried out with the DASS-42 questionnaire , while data on the duration of labor at stage II was obtained from the patient's medical record . Data analysis was performed using the Likelihood Ratio statistical test . Data analysis showed a relationship between the anxiety level​ pregnant women and the duration of labor in Stage II. Mothers with a higher level of anxiety trend to experience longer​ second stage of labor than mother with a lower level of anxiety . Anxiety in pregnant women affects the duration of labor in Stage II. Therefore , effective interventions are needed in the psychological management of pregnant women to reduce anxiety and facilitate the labor process.

Abstract

Pregnancy often causes various changes in a woman's body , one of which is hemorrhoids , which generally occur in the second and third trimesters . This study aims to analyze the relationship between risk factors such as trimester of pregnancy , defecation position , and constipation with the incidence of hemorrhoids in pregnancy women in Sinjai Regency. The method used is an analytical observational approach with a case-control design at the Restu Ibu Maternity Clinic , with the case group consisting of pregnant women who experienced hemorrhoids and a control group who did not experience them . Data collection was carried out through medical records and direct interviews , and statistical analysis using the Chi- square test . The results showed that constipation had been significant relationship with the incidence of hemorrhoids (p = 0.003), while parity and defecation position factors did not show a significant relationship . This study suggests that constipation management should be the main step in preventing hemorrhoids in pregnancy women , as well as providing important insights for health workers and the community to increase awareness of hemorrhoid prevention during pregnancy .

Abstract

Ovarian cancer is condition caused by abnormal tissue that growth in ovary . Ovary is female reproductive organs where eggs are produced. There is three Ovarian cancer is classified as an epithelial tumor that develops on the surface of the ovary, originating germ cell tumors from in producing cells egg can found in women young, and tumors of stromal origin from cells that have hormone womanhood namely estrogen and progesterone. Objective to find out the characteristics of ovarian cancer sufferers at Ibnu Sina Makassar Hospital. Method this research is a descriptive research with design studies cross sectional , the researcher will collect secondary data through record medical patient ovarian cancer at Ibnu Sina Makassar Hospital. The results shows that from 90 samples, characteristics patients based on age the most is 46-55 years totaling 29 people (32.2%), marital status is already married totaling 76 people (84.4%), symptoms clinical is stomach grow totaling 55 people (61.1%), stage of cancer is stage IIIC totaling 32 people (35.6%), type histopathology is an epithelial tumor surface totaling 73 people (81.1%), and most abdominal ultrasound images on smooth tumor walls totaling 48 people (53.3%), no septate totaling 37 people (41.1%), echogenicity mixed echoic totaling 38 people (42.2%). Can concluded that characteristics the most found at the age of 46-55 years, marital status is already married, symptom clinical is stomach enlarged, cancerous stage is stage IIIC, type histopathology is an epithelial tumor surface, and abdominal ultrasound image of the smooth tumor wall, no septate, echogenicity mixed echoic.
