Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the application of the ecopreneurship concept in entrepreneurship courses on the environmental literacy skills of science education students at Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM). The type of research used in this study is a pre-experiment with a one group Pretest-Posttest design. The population in this study were all science education students at ULM with a sample of 33 science education students from the 2022 intake who were taking entrepreneurship courses determined by purposive sampling techniques. In the learning approach in this study, using a project-based learning model was carried out to integrate the principles of ecopreneurship with entrepreneurship learning. This study resulted in a significant increase in indicators of environmental knowledge (ecological), identifying environmental issues or problems, Attitudes of appreciation for the environment Responsible for the environment based on green consumerism in everyday life which includes environmental aspects. The results of the study showed that the application of the ecopreneurship concept significantly increased students' environmental literacy skills before and after the application of the ecopreneurship concept with a sig (2- tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05 and good persone correlation with a sig (2-tailed) of 0.038 and can be categorized as positively correlated data.

Abstract

It is widely acknowledged that it is imperative to accommodate the diverse characteristics of learners. However, empirical evidence suggests that the learning process has yet to fully consider the individual needs of students. This development research aims to determine the viability of differentiated teaching materials based on the independent curriculum to enhance students’ knowledge learning outcomes on substance and its changes in terms of validity, practicality, and effectiveness in an effort to accommodate the learning needs of diverse learners. The research method employed is Research and Development (R&D), utilizing the 4D development model (Define, Design, Development, & Disseminate). The data analysis techniques used include Aiken’s validity analysis, practicality analysis using percentages, and analysis of the effectiveness of knowledge learning outcomes using N-gain. The results showed that the developed teaching materials received a validity score of 0.83 (very valid), a practicality score of 90% (very practical), and an effectiveness score of 0.4 (medium/effective). It is evident, based on the analysis of these scores, that the teaching materials developed are of a high validity, practical nature and efficacy in facilitating the learning process of scientific concepts, substances and its changes.

Abstract

This research is a development of comic media based on Project Based Learning (PjBL) which is motivated by the lack of variation of learning media in improving students' scientific literacy. This study aims to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of comic learning media based on Project Based Learning (PjBL) on the digestive system sub-material. This research and development uses the R & D development model with ADDIE research procedures. Data analysis techniques in this study include analysis of the validity of comic media before the media is used in learning with a validity sheet instrument from an expert validator's assessment, analysis of the practicality of comic media related to students' views on comic media used in learning through student response questionnaire instruments, and analysis of the effectiveness of comic media related to improving students' scientific literacy results from the scientific literacy test instrument conducted at the beginning and at the end of learning (pretest and posttest). The results of the study indicate that the learning media is categorized as very feasible, very practical, and effective with n-gain scores that show high criteria. Based on the results of this study, the development of comic learning media based on Project Based Learning (PjBL) can be an alternative innovative media in improving the scientific literacy of eighth grade junior high school students.

Abstract

The learning process motivates the development of scientific literacy-based teaching materials on the material of soil formation processes and soil constituent components. So far, it has only used teaching materials in school textbooks. The purpose of the researchers in carrying out this development was to find out 1) the validity of scientific literacy-based teaching materials on the process of soil formation and soil constituents, (2) the practicality of teaching materials, and (3) the effectiveness of teaching materials. Development of teaching materials using the 4D model (define, design, develop and disseminate). The instruments implemented in the research include learning achievement tests, student response questionnaires, and teaching material validation sheets. The research validated scientific literacy-based teaching materials, showing very valid criteria by obtaining a score of 3.70. The learning outcomes test on this teaching material was also very valid, with a value of 3.51. The results of the practicality of teaching materials obtained a value of 70.85% which was indicated by practical criteria. Teaching materials based on scientific literacy were also declared effective by obtaining an n-gain of 0.91 with high criteria. From these results, the advanced scientific literacy-based teaching materials can be implemented as teaching materials because the test results are declared feasible and valid.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is an important indicator in the implementation of science education, which must be integrated systematically at all levels of education. This study aims to investigate the differences in scientific literacy skills between classes taught using interactive learning media and those taught using conventional learning media, with a focus on the sub-topic of the circulatory system. Additionally, it aims to assess the changes in scientific literacy skills before and after the use of interactive learning media on the sub-topic of the circulatory system. The type of research employed was quasi-experimental, utilising a non-equivalent control group design with data collection techniques that included pretests and posttests of scientific literacy. These tests were used to evaluate the hypothesis through independent sample t-tests and paired sample t-tests. The study's results showed differences in scientific literacy abilities between classes taught using interactive learning media and those taught using conventional learning media in the sub-material of the circulatory system. The results of this study also indicated a difference in scientific literacy skills before and after the use of interactive learning media in the sub-material of the circulatory system. This study demonstrates that the use of interactive learning media that present content related to scientific phenomena can enhance students' scientific literacy skills. This research highlights the importance of utilising interactive learning media for teachers in enhancing students' scientific literacy.

Abstract

This research involves the development of a Student Worksheet based on project-based learning for the solar system sub-material, focusing on improving the learning outcomes of junior high school students. The purpose of this study is to identify the level of validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the project-based learning Student Worksheet. The method employed in this research is Research and Development (R&D), utilising the ADDIE approach as the development model. This study demonstrates that project-based learning, specifically the Student Worksheet on solar system sub-materials, is deemed highly valid, with a validity value of 0.88, aimed at enhancing student learning outcomes. The practicality of the results from a student response questionnaire, with 82.24% of students agreeing, indicates that the Student Worksheet is highly practical. Effectiveness based on knowledge learning outcomes, with the calculation of n-gain from pretest and posttest, obtained an average n-gain of 0.71 with high criteria, attitude learning outcomes obtained an average of 90.67% which is categorised as very good, and learning outcomes skills obtained an average of 91% which is categorized as very good. The results of the study demonstrate that the Student Worksheet project-based learning on the solar system sub-material is feasible for use, as it meets the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes. The implications of this research suggest that project-based learning Student worksheets can serve as an alternative, innovative teaching material that encourages active student involvement, improves critical thinking skills, and provides educators with a reference for developing learning tools that align with the demands of the Independent Curriculum and 21st-century learning.
