Abstract

Synthesis of silver nanoparticles (Ag-NP) was successfully performed within a few minutes by microwave irradiation of the precursor salt (AgNO3) and alginate mixed solution in one pot. Herein, alginate molecules acted as both a reducing and stabilizing agent for the preparation of the silver nanoparticles. The obtained nanoparticles were characterized by ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy, particle size analysis (PSA), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The pH and concentration ratio of the alginate/metal precursor salt greatly influenced the particle size and its distribution of Ag-NP. The higher the pH the higher the nucleation rate and the larger the electrostatic stabilization, while both of them were responsible for producing a smaller particle size and a narrower size distribution. A higher concentration ratio also yielded a smaller particle size and a narrower size distribution, but above the optimum ratio, the trend was conversely changed due to the reducing capability of the alginate, which was dominant above the optimum ratio, thus creating a high density of nuclei, allowing aggregation to occur. A lower ratio not only led to a higher tendency to produce larger particles, but also a higher probability of anisotropic particle shape formation due to the lack of reducing capability of the alginates.

Abstract

Stability of Au/alginate nanocomposite was theoretically evaluated by computing various interactions energy which contributes in the system, including attraction and repulsion interaction. The results revealed that both polymer and electrostatic charges played a significant role in the stabilization, but the steric repulsion comes from polymer chain is a more effective stabilization mechanism than the electrostatic repulsion. Higher pH yielded in stronger electrostatic repulsion but when the alginate thickness is low the resulting nanocomposite was less stable in a long time period. Interaction energies for Au/alginate nanocomposite colloidal system was up to ~60 kT for alginate thickness of 1 nm, at very short particle-particle separation distance (< 1 nm). As the alginate thickness can be controlled by adjusting the alginate concentration, it can be concluded that the high stability of Au/alginate nanocomposite can be achieved by employing an appropriate amount of alginate concentration.

Abstract

PTTA (Unmanned Aircraft) is also used to support national security and reconnaissance, making it easier for the TNI to work and simultaneously saving the cost of monitoring Indonesian territories. This study will produce design details, design analysis with design configuration requirements from UCAV (Unmanned Combat Air Vehicle), which has Weight and Balance with a two-point landing case so that UCAV is declared safe to receive maximum load loads and flutter analysis shows that the vehicle does not occur. Flutter phenomenon up to a speed of 150 KTAS meets the requirements of aeroelastic flutter based on the rules set by CASR (Civil Aviation Safety Regulations) 23 and IMA (Indonesian Military Airworthiness). From the identification of DR&O (Design Requirements and Objectives) and Initial Sizing, there is an effect of airflow and angle of attack on UCAV on aerodynamic characteristics, used as contours of pressure and temperature on the body and vector for UCAV body velocity. Pressure contours, temperature contours, and velocity vectors on the UCAV so that the analysis in determining the performance of the aircraft is representative following CASR regulations 23 and 24

Abstract

Gas stations (SPBU in Indonesia) have the potency for fire and explosion hazards due to the storage and distribution of flammable liquids, one of which is Pertamax. This can be a non-military threat in the dimension of public safety because if it occurs, the resulting loss could be very large in terms of material or life. This study aims to determine the risk of fire and explosion at Indonesian gas station. This study uses Dow's Fire and Explosion Index in asimulated case method. The potential for fire and explosion or the value of the Fire Explosion Index (F&EI) in the simulated case is 111,24. The actual exposure radius is 29.62 m and the damage factor to the Pertamax storage tank is 63%. The results of the study have a risk level that is classified as Intermediate, so it is necessary to control risks such as increasing active protection and is expected to be an input in efforts to safeguard against non-military threats so as to reduce the impact of risks and losses that occur in the Pertamax storage tank.

Abstract

The countries that are members of ASEAN have a vision to create regional stability both politically, economically as well as defense and security. Strategic location of ASEAN countries, world geopolitical and geoeconomic dynamics, shifting of world power maps and conflicts of interest. This condition has the potential to make ASEAN the axis of the world, but ASEAN countries are not geographically integrated, so that the geopolitical position of each member country is different and different levels of economy have an impact on the implementation of an agreement. The importance of strategic leadership in ASEAN with a dynamic and visionary modern leadership style is needed to be able to maintain stability in the ASEAN region, as well as make a new axis of world power. The future of ASEAN is not only influenced by the leadership style of the ASEAN Chair, but is also influenced by the Leadership Style of ASEAN member countries, the ASEAN Leadership Style in recent years does not seem to have a significant impact. Based on the consideration of the different conditions of ASEAN members, the Modern Leadership Style: Adaptive and Visionary, can be applied by the ASEAN Chair, so that ASEAN's functions and roles are more optimal.

Abstract

This research focuses on the analysis of the Falkland/Malvinas conflict that occurred in 1982 with the aim of understanding the differences in armament and military equipment resources between Argentina and the United Kingdom, as well as its impact on the outcome of the war. In the introduction section, we outline the research problem, which is the comparison of armament and military equipment between both sides, and describe the purpose and objectives of the research. This research uses a qualitative methodology with a literature review approach to gather data from various secondary sources such as books, scholarly journals, and research reports. This allows researchers to gain a comprehensive understanding of the Falkland/Malvinas war. The results of this research describe the superiority held by the United Kingdom in almost all aspects of armament, including the Sea Harrier fighter aircraft, which proved to be a decisive factor in their victory in aerial combat. The impact of these differences was Argentina's defeat and significant damage. The conclusion of this research highlights the importance of thorough military preparedness, advanced technology, and effective diplomacy in preventing armed conflicts. War will only bring great losses to both sides, as seen in the Falkland/Malvinas War. Therefore, diplomacy should be promoted as a solution to resolve international disputes and avoid unnecessary bloodshed

Abstract

Natural fiber composites are an alternative Multilayered Armor System (MAS) material. One of the most common natural fibers used as MAS is a fiber made from bamboo rope. Bamboo fiber composites have a low density and a low manufacturing cost. However, in terms of mechanical properties, bamboo fiber composites have different characteristics. In this research, the mechanical properties of the bamboo rope fiber composite, which has an orientation of 0°/90°, will be analyzed. The composite materials used are bamboo rope fiber as a reinforcement and epoxy as the fiber binding matrix. From the mechanical tests performed, it was found that the average tensile strength of the bamboo rope fiber composite was 109.86 MPa. The bending strength is 95.32 MPa, and the shear strength is 34.11 MPa.
