Abstract

A banana was rank 4th as food consumed by the world community after rice, wheat, and corn. Identification and characterization were important steps to explore the potential and important value of this plant. This study aims to obtain the kinship profile of banana germplasm in Bandarlampung City based on the number of chromosomes and their genome types. Characterization of banana accession is done by observing the morphological characteristics referring to 15 characters from Simmonds and Shepherd with the expected score of genomic determinants modified by Silayoi and Camchalow. The results of dendrogram analysis showed that on a scale of 20-23 obtained 2 groups of banana accessions. The first group consisted of 7 accessions of bananas, namely Kepok Kapas, Kepok Manado, Kepok Kuning, Rabig, Kepok Batu, Raja Sajen, and Pisang Batu. The second group consisted of 15 accessions, namely Kepok Abu, Horn, Thousand, Janten, Mas Kuning, Mas, Muli, Rejang, Ambon Lumut, Papan, Cavendish, Ambon Kuning, Morosebo, Rajah Sereh, and Raja Nangka. Whereas 4 accessions, namely Ambon Australia, Kepok Lebanon, Kidang and Raja Bakar, could not be analyzed for their kinship because the data collection of the banana generative phase had passed or had not yet entered the generative phase. Whereas 1 accession, namely Musa ornate, is believed to be included in the Rhodhoclamys section so that the genome type cannot be determined. Based on group analysis obtained 2 large groups at a scale distance of 20-23. At a smaller scale distance of 10 obtained a subgroup with a large number of members.

Abstract

Tambah Dadi adalah sebuah desa yang terletak di Kecamatan Purbolinggo, Lampung Timur dengan salah satu keunggulan pertanian tanaman ubi kayu. Dalam proses pengolahannya, keberadaan limbah onggok yang menumpuk dan menjadi masalah lingkungan belum dimanfaatkan dengan baik oleh warga setempat. Limbah tanaman ini sebenarnya sangat potensial sebagai pakan ternak alternatif dalam usaha peternakan dan pertanian, karena tersedia dalam jumlah yang besar dan murah. Keuntungan lain pemanfaatan onggok yaitu dapat mengurangi dampak pencemaran lingkungan dan menghemat devisa. Meskipun limbah, onggok memiliki kandungan serat yang tinggi sehingga masih mencukupi kebutuhan gizi sebagai pakan alternatif. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat “Pemanfaatan Onggok Sebagai Pakan Alternatif Usaha Peternakan dan Perikanan di Desa Tambah Dadi, Kecamatan Purbolinggo, Lampung Timur” ini perlu dilakukan untuk memberikan pengetahuan kepada masyarakat sehingga masyarakat dapat menghemat biaya produksi dan memperoleh tambahan penghasilan.

Abstract

The world community, including Indonesia much like bananas because it has a relatively low price and good nutritional content. Banana kepok is a type of banana favored by the public because it tastes good and sweet. However, the obstacle that is often faced in kepok bananas is the difficulty in providing quality banana seeds quickly. Therefore, alternative technology is needed through tissue culture techniques. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding breech flower tuber extract in culture media on the formation of banana plantlets of yellow kepok cultivar and to obtain scientific information about the growth profile of yellow kepok plantlets due to the addition of breech flower tuber extract to culture media. This research was conducted at the MTC Laboratory, PT. Great Giant Pineapple PG 4 Labuhan Ratu, East Lampung from December 2019 - April 2020 using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with ten replications consisting of the addition of 10% breech flower tuber extract as the primary treatment, 0.1% pure colchicine as a positive control, and without addition as a negative control. The results showed that the addition of 10% breech flower tuber extract in the culture media caused the growth of yellow kepok banana plantlets to be slower than the addition of 0.1% colchicine. Then in the media, with the addition of 10% breech flower tuber extract, the number of shoots, shoot height, number of better root and leaf area than the media without expansion, but 0.1% colchicine still showed the best results.

Abstract

The fungus Colletotrichum acutatum which often attacks chili plants causes anthracnose disease. Farmers generally use fungicides to control this disease. Continuous use of synthetic fungicides will have negative impacts. Plant extracts as an alternative to natural fungicides can be an appropriate and environmentally friendly choice. One of them is the use of Local Microorganisms (MOL). This  research aims to determine the optimal concentration of coconut pulp MOL in increasing the resistance of red chilli plants to the fungus Colletotrichum acutatum that causes anthracnose disease. The study used a Totally Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 drugs, namely A (0 ml/water), B (5 ml/water), C (10 ml/water), D (15 ml/water), E (20 ml/water). ml/water), F (25 ml/water). There are four treatments each time. Information was broken down using ANOVA and continued with the Fair Genuine Contrast (BNJ) test at the 5% level (α = 5%). with a level of 5% (α = 5%). The results showed a significant effect on fungal colony diameter, germination period, plant height, plant incubation period, and disease severity. The best concentration of local coconut pulp microorganisms in inhibiting anthracnose disease was 25 ml/l water.

Abstract

Bawang merah (Allium cepa L.) merupakan salah satu komoditas utama sayuran di Indonesia yang mempunyai banyak manfaat. Bawang merah termasuk ke dalam rempah kelompok yang dibutuhkan oleh konsumen rumah tangga sebagai penyedap bumbu masakan dan bahan baku industri makanan serta bahan obat tradisional yang memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi. Meningkatnya permintaan bawang merah mendorong peningkatan produksi yang dalam prosesnya menggunakan pupuk kimia yang berdampak merusak lingkungan dalam masa panjang sehingga diperlukan alternatif pemupukan yang ramah lingkunan dengan hasil tanam yang juga lebih baik. Air cucian beras yang kebanyakan dibuang begitu saja masih memiliki kandungan vitamin dan mineral yang dibutuhkan sebagai unsur hara yang mendukung pertumbuhan tanaman, sehingga dapat dijadikan pupuk tambahan yang ramah lingkungan.  Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari pengaruh pemberian air cucian beras terhadap pertumbuhan bawang merah (Allium cepa L.). Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Botani, Jurusan Biologi, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Lampung dari bulan April hingga September 2021. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan empat perlakuan dan enam ulangan. Perlakuann volume air cucian beras yang terdiri dari empat taraf, yaitu; K0 = kontrol, K1 = 20 ml, K2 = 40 ml, K3 = 60 ml. Parameter meliputi pengamatan jumlah daun, jumlah umbi, berat umbi dan berat kering daun. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pupuk organik cair berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil bawang merah. Perlakuan volume 20 ml menghasilkan produksi rata-rata tertinggi dengan jumlah daun (25 helai), jumlah umbi (5 umbi), berat umbi (35,2 gram), dan berat kering daun (6,517 gram).Kata kunci: bawang merah, air cucian beras, pupuk tambahan

Abstract

Tanaman hortikultura bersifat rentan terhadap gangguan hama yang berdampak signifikan terhadap kualitas dan hasil tanaman, sehingga diperlukan pestisida untuk menanggulanginya.[d1]  Namun, ketergantungan berlebihan pada pestisida sintetis menimbulkan masalah ekonomi dan lingkungan. Kegiatan ini ditujukan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat tentang penggunaan tanaman sebagai pestisida nabati untuk mengendalikan hama, melalui praktik pembuatan pestida nabati. Objek pengabdian ini adalah anggota KWT Bayur Lestari di kecamatan Rajabasa, Bandar Lampung. Metode pengabdian dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan edukatif dan partisipatif berupa penyuluhan, demonstrasi, dan praktik langsung pembuatan pestisida nabati. Data dikumpulkan melalui pretest, wawancara, observasi, dan diskusi kelompok, lalu dianalisis secara deskriptif-kuantitatif dan tematik. Hasil pretes menunjukkan sebagian besar peserta belum mengenal insektisida nabati; 73% tidak tahu apa itu insektisida, dan 91% belum pernah membuat insektisida alami. Setelah pelatihan, terjadi peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan dalam meracik larutan dari bahan seperti daun pepaya dan kulit bawang. Peserta mulai memahami perbedaan insektisida kimia dan nabati serta manfaat ekologis penggunaan pestisida nabati. Penyuluhan dan demonstrasi pembuatan pestisida nabati berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran, pengetahuan, dan keterampilan partisipan, mendorong peralihan ke pertanian berkelanjutan yang ramah lingkungan. Kata Kunci: Hama Tanaman, Insektisida, Pestisida Nabati, Tanaman Pekarangan, Pertanian Berkelanjutan Plants are inherently vulnerable to pest infestation, which can critically affect crop quality and yield. Excessive reliance on synthetic pesticides creates substantial economic and environmental concerns. This initiative aimed to equip members of the Bayur Lestari Women Farmers’ Group (KWT) in Rajabasa, Bandar Lampung, with knowledge and awareness regarding the use of backyard plants as botanical pesticides for pest management. The community service employed an educational and participatory method, comprising outreach sessions, demonstrations, and hands‑on training in the preparation of botanical pesticide formulations. Data were collected through pre‑tests, interviews, observation, and group discussions, and subsequently analyzed using descriptive quantitative and thematic analysis. The pre‑test results indicated that most participants were unfamiliar with botanical insecticides—73% did not know what an insecticide was, and 91% had never formulated a natural pesticide. After the training, participants demonstrated increased comprehension and skill in preparing solutions from ingredients such as papaya leaves and onion skins. They also began to appreciate the ecological advantages of botanical versus chemical insecticides. Overall, the outreach and demonstration activities successfully enhanced participants’ awareness, knowledge, and practical abilities, fostering a transition toward environmentally sustainable agricultural practices.
