Abstract

Masyarakat Kampung Naga ialah masyarakat yang tinggal di daerah kaki gunung Galunggung Kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Mereka terkenal karena mempertahankan kebudayaan yang diturunkan dari para karuhunnya yang memiliki ajaran sunda wiwitan. Para Karuhun mengamatkan agar mereka tidak merusak alam dan juga hidup rukun sesama manusia. Untuk mewujudkan kepatuhannya atas amanat karuhun, mereka menerapkan kearifan lokal sunda wiwitan dalam kehidupannya sehari-hari. Amanat para karuhun ini menjadi aturan hidup masyarakat Kampung Naga. Pantang/pamali bagi mereka untuk merusak alam, dan dalam kehidupan bersosial harus hirup sauyunan dengan sesama. Ada sanksi adat yang mengikat bagi para pelanggar aturan tersebut. Amanat dari karuhun ini telah membentuk karakter masyarakat Kampung Naga yang selalu hidup harmonis dengan alam dan juga sesama manusia. Kearifan lokal sunda wiwitan yang terkandung dalam cerita historis masyarakat Kampung Naga ini menjadi nilai karakter yang berharga untuk dipelajari dalam pembelajaran IPS.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.17977/um033v1i12018103

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to test and implement the feasibility of Augmented Reality (AR) media in social studies learning that has been designed in previous research, as well as develop an implementation strategy. Augmented Reality (AR) learning media focuses on teachers and students in the classroom in social studies learning. Meanwhile, AR media helps teachers contextualize social studies learning and can be used as a source of social studies learning Quantitative research approaches use research designs and methods, namely through product testing or socialization, the level of effectiveness using pseudo-experiments in three schools in Bandung City Junior High School. The study results provide information about the feasibility and testing of AR media products that are suitable for use in social studies learning. This states that 97% of students are interested in AR learning. The effectiveness of AR media applications in social studies learning obtained a very high response from students, 90%, while the responses of teachers and students showed promising results in using AR media applications in the classroom.

Abstract

Character education is one of the educational programs that can develop the positive character of students and overcome juvenile delinquency that occurs. One of the cultivation of character education in the school environment is through textbooks as the main learning resource. The purpose of this research is to find out what character education values are contained in the Junior High School Social Studies Textbook Grade VII Curriculum 2013 Revised Edition 2017. This study used a qualitative research approach with a narrative content analysis method with data collection techniques of interviews with one of the junior high school teachers, classroom observation to find out the implementation of character values at SMP Negeri 1 Lembang, documentation study of lesson plans, and analysis of textbook content. The results of the study showed that the Junior High School Social Studies Textbook Grade VII Curriculum 2013 Revised Edition 2017 contains 18 character education values. These values are included in the learning materials, individual activities, group activities, and reflect features. However, there are other values that are equally important in relation to juvenile delinquency. Group activity as one of the most impactful activities on the internalization process that contains three aspects at once. Character values appear more during implementation than those contained in textbooks and lesson plans.

Abstract

Social studies learning is one of the learnings that requires literacy skills, but the literacy skills possessed by students are still low so it requires the School Literacy Movement (GLS). The focus of the problem in this study is to see how the School Literacy Movement Program in social studies learning. This study aims to determine the implementation of the School Literacy Movement Program (GLS) for grade VII students at SMP Negeri 2 Batujajar, especially in social studies learning. The approach to this research is to use a qualitative research approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The results showed that there are 4 Literacy Movement Programs in SMP Negeri 2 Batujajar, namely the Readhaton Program, Book Grants, KERPUS, and Class Library. The implementation of these programs has not been optimally implemented by the school due to obstacles both from inside and outside the school. Similarly, the implementation of the Literacy Movement Program in social studies learning is still not optimal due to various obstacles and also the lack of teachers in integrating literacy programs in social studies subjects. Therefore, there must be some improvements from the programs that have been implemented by schools to improve the literacy ability of students to be better.
