Abstract

Judul usulan dalam program kemitraan masyarakat stimulus ini adalah Pemberdayaan dan Perpepsi Ibu-Ibu PKK Melalui Pelatihan Pembuatan Kue Tempe Mactha di Kecamatan Sukarami, Kelurahan Kebun Bunga Kota Palembang, Sumatera Selatan. Tim Mitra dari program kemitraan masyarakat stimulus ini adalah ibu-ibu rumah tangga yang tergabung dalam organisasi PKK Di Kecamatan Sukarami Kelurahan Kebun Bunga Kota Palembang, Sumatera Selatan. Lokasi Tim Mitra dengan jarak Tim Pengusul berjarak 5 Km dengan waktu tempuh lebih kurang 20 menit perjalanan. Tujuan dari program kemitraan masyarakat Stimulus ini, dirancang sebagai  tujuan untuk Memberdayakan ibu-ibu rumah tangga non-produktif yang tergabung dalam organisasi PKK guna meningkatan kemampuan potensi diri agar lebih berdaya secara ekonomi dan sosial. Metode pelaksanaan dalam program kemitraan masyarakat Stimulus ini, meliputi beberapa tahapan metode pelaksanaan, dengan meliputi metode sosialisasi, metode pelatihan skills, dan metode pemasaran.Luaran yang diharapkan dari program ini adalah, 1). Peningkatan keberdayaan dari ibu-ibu rumah tangga khususnya ibu-ibu rumah tangga yang tergabung pada organisasi PKK. 2) Peningkatan ketrampilan dalam pengolahan Tempe menjadi kue, serta dapat mengembangkan inovasi produk lainnya terutama pada makanan yang berbahan baku tempe. 3) Menghasilkan produk Kue Tempe Matcha sebagai produk inovatif orisinil dari ibu-ibu rumah tangga yang tergabung pada organisasi PKK Di Kecamatan Sukarami Kelurahan Kebun Bunga Kota Palembang, Sumatera Selatan. Sedangkan Persepsi Ibu-Ibu PKK setelah mengikuti pelatihan pembuatan Kue Tempe Matcha, dapat disimpulkan, bahwa sebagian besar dari mereka memberikan tanggapan atau persepsi positif terhadap pernyataan yang berkaitan dengan pelatihan pembuatan Tempe MatchaKata kunci : Pemberdayaan Perempuan, Kue Tempe Mactha, Organisasi PKK

Abstract

This research was aimed at inquiring the application of roleplay toward the EFL learners’ oral proficiency achievement. An experimental design, primarily on the pre-experimental design, was used in this research. Thirty-eight university students were taken conveniently as the research sample. A test and a close-ended questionnaire were administered to rate the oral proficiency achievement and perception of the EFL learners. The findings revealed that (1) the oral proficiency achievement level (OPAL) of the EFL learners in the experimental group was in the good and very good achievement level, (2) there was a significant improvement on the EFL learners’ OPA after the intervention given, and (3) then positive perception made by the EFL learners about the application of roleplay on their achievement of oral proficiency. In concluding, using roleplay made a significant improvement on the EFL learners’ oral proficiency achievement. This research also provides pedagogical implication for lecturers, students, stakeholders, and near future researchers to apply this as the alternative instructional activity to develop the oral proficiency of the English language learners.

Abstract

This research was conducted to improve speaking achievement of the tenth grade students of SMA N 10 Palembang in academic year of 2017/2018 by using Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) method.The objective of this research was to improve the speaking ability. The method of this research was quasi experimental design. There were 20 students taken as the sample for both experimental and control group, respectively. The speaking test, in pretest and posttest, was used to collect the data. The data of speaking test was then analyzed by using SPSS program. The research findings revealed that holistically there a significant improvement on the students’ speaking achievement who were taught by using TSTS Method. Analytically, there a significant improvement on the students’ speaking aspects achievement who were taught by using TSTS Method where the highest score of speaking aspects in the experimental group were in fluency (0.85)  and pronunciation (0.75). Also, there was a significant mean difference between the students’ speaking achievement who were taught by TSTS method and those who were not.Key words: Two Stay Two Stray, speaking achievement

Abstract

This research aimed at finding out the types of error based on Surface Strategy Taxonomy (Dulay, Burt, and Krashen, 1982) that found at ELT student’s speaking and analyzing some factors influencing their errors. The subject of this research was the sixth semester students of English Education from Indo Global Mandiri University who already taken speaking 3 and structure 4 courses. Qualitative study was used as a method to obtain the data. The data was taken from final exam video of speaking 3 course. The researcher analyzed the data following the Error Analysis (EA) procedures which involves transcribing, coding, classifying error, also explaining the errors and their factors. The result shows that the most dominant error were omission (55,50%), followed by addition (22,49%), misformation (18,66%), and misordering (3,35%). The current research investigated the factor of errors based on their source were intralingual and interlingual interference. Meanwhile, intralingual was considered as the major cause of the students’ errors. In conclution, the students still have a problem in terms of grammatical aspect of their speaking. It is suggested that the students should pay more attention to the grammatical aspect and improve their speaking skills.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe objectives of the study were to find out (1) whether there was significant improvement of students’ reading comprehension achievement after being taught by using folklore (2) to find out whether there was significant mean difference of reading comprehension achievement between the students who were taught by using folklore and those who were not. The method of the study was quasi-experimental design, non-equivalent control design. The population was all the eleventh grade students’ at MAN 2 Palembang. Sixty-eight students were purposively selected and equally divided into experimental and control groups. The data were analyzed by using t-test (Paired Samples t-test and Independent Samples t-test). The findings revealed that by using folklore significantly improved the students’ reading comprehension achievement (t=17.158). The mean score of post-test in experimental group was75.06, meanwhile the mean score of post-test in control group was 59.59. The result in experimental group was better than control group. It means the use of folklore improved students’ reading comprehension achievement.Keyword : improving, folklore, reading comprehension achievementABSTRAKTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui (1) apakah ada peningkatan yang signifikan dari prestasi membaca siswa setelah diajarkan dengan menggunakan cerita rakyat (2) untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan rata-rata yang signifikan dari prestasi membaca antara siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan cerita rakyat dan mereka yang tidak diajarkan. Metode penelitian menggunakan desain quasi-experimental, non-equivalent control design. Populasi didalam penelitian aadalah semua siswa kelas XI (Sebelas) di MAN 2 Palembang. Enam puluh delapan siswa dipilih secara purposif untuk menjadi sampel dalam penelitian ini dan dibagi rata ke dalam kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. Data yang didapat dianalisa dengan menggunakan uji-t (Paired Samples t-test and Independent Samples t-test). Hasil dari penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa dengan menggunakan cerita rakyat dapat meningkatkan prestasi membaca siswa secara signifikan (t = 17, 158). Nilai rata-rata posttest pada kelompok eksperimen adalah 75,06, sedangkan nilai rata-rata pada kelompok kontrol adalah 59,59. Hasil pada kelompok eksperimen lebih baik daripada kelompok kontrol. Ini berarti penggunaan cerita rakyat meningkatkan prestasi membaca siswa.Kata kunci : Peningkatan, cerita rakyat, prestasi membaca pemahaman

Abstract

AbstractThis research attempted to see whether the cooperative leaning was impactful on EFL learners’ critical thinking aspects. Non-equivalent pretest and posttest control group design of comparison group design was used in this research. The population of the research was all of the undergraduate students of University of Indo Global Mandiri. Forty students were selected as the sample purposively in the experimental group (treatment group) and control group (non-treatment group), respectively. A critical thinking rubric was employed to measure the EFL learners’ critical thinking(aspects) and critical thinking aspects(total). The research findings revealed that (1) there was a significant improvement on the EFL learners’ critical thinking(aspects) and critical thinking (total), (2) There was a significant mean difference on the EFL learners’ critical thinking(aspects) and critical thinking aspects(total), (3) there was a significant contribution of the critical thinking skill (aspects) and critical thinking aspects(total) in which the aspects of framing personal responses and acknowledging other perspectives had the lowest contribution and the aspects of recoqnizing stakeholders and context had the highest contribution. In conclusion statistically the cooperative learning was significantly impactful on the EFL learners’ critical thinking aspects in English language teaching.Keywords: Cooperative learning, critical thinking aspectsAbstrak Penelitian ini berusaha untuk melihat apakah pembelajaran kooperatif berdampak pada aspek berpikir kritis peserta didik EFL. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian non-equivalent pretest and posttest control group design of comparison group design. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah semua mahasiswa sarjana dari Universitas Indo Global Mandiri. Empat puluh siswa dipilih sebagai sampel secara purposif dalam kelompok eksperimen (kelompok perlakuan) dan kelompok kontrol (kelompok non-perlakuan). Rubrik berpikir kritis digunakan untuk mengukur pemikiran kritis (aspek) pembelajar EFL dan aspek berpikir kritis (total). Temuan penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa (1) ada peningkatan yang signifikan pada pemikiran kritis (aspek) peserta didik EFL dan  pemikiran kritis (total), (2) Ada perbedaan rata-rata yang signifikan pada pemikiran kritis peserta didik EFL (aspek) dan aspek berpikir kritis (total), (3) ada kontribusi signifikan dari keterampilan berpikir kritis (aspek) dan aspek berpikir kritis (total) di mana aspek membingkai tanggapan pribadi dan mengakui perspektif lain memiliki kontribusi terendah dan aspek dari para pemangku kepentingan dan konteks yang memiliki kontribusi tertinggi. Kesimpulannya secara statistik pembelajaran kooperatif berdampak signifikan pada aspek berpikir kritis peserta didik EFL dalam pengajaran bahasa Inggris.Kata kunci: pembelajaran kooperatif, aspek berpikir kritis

Abstract

Kegiatan pelatihan branding di IREMA Baiturrahman merupakan respon dari pihak terkait. Di tengah kondisi pandemi ini, pemerintah Indonesia terus menggalakkan industri kreatif. Akibat pandemi, masyarakat Indonesia lebih banyak menghabiskan waktu online karena masyarakat masih bisa menjalankan aktivitas kesehariannya, mulai dari bekerja, belajar, hingga menikmati hiburan online. Universitas Indo Global Mandiri Palembang, berkomitmen untuk selalu berusaha melakukan pengabdian kepada masyarakat secara berkesinambungan sebagai bentuk kepedulian civitas akademika untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup masyarakat. Oleh karena itu, Tim Pengabdian Masyarakat Universitas Indo Global Mandiri Palembang bermaksud menjalin kerjasama dengan IREMA Baiturrahman dengan skema pelayanan internal yaitu: 1) Memberikan wawasan Branding dan cara membuatnya, 2) Memberikan keterampilan branding kepada peserta pelatihan, 3) Meningkatkan keterampilan bagi peserta yang sudah memiliki landasan Seni Rupa, dan 4) Memberikan motivasi dan tips bagi peserta untuk menjadi individu yang mandiri dan mampu menghasilkan Brand secara berkala. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pelatihan Branding ini adalah Metode Sosialisasi dan Ceramah, Metode Demonstrasi & Bimbingan & Metode Partisipatif. Kegiatan pelatihan branding di IREMA,para pesertadapat membuat Merk dan sebagian dapat membuat maskot dengan tingkat kemampuan yang berbeda-beda. Branding Training and Branding Workshop for IREMA Baiturrahman, Kebun Bunga Village, Palembang Branding Training for IREMA Baiturrahman, Kebun Bunga Village, Palembang. Branding training activities at IREMA Baiturrahman are a response from related parties. In the midst of this pandemic condition, the Indonesian government continues to promote the creative industry. As a result of the pandemic, Indonesians spend more time online because people can still carry out their activities everyday life, from work, study to enjoying online entertainment. Indo Global Mandiri University Palembang, committed to always trying to do community service continuously as a form of concern for academics to improve the quality of life of the community. Therefore The Indo Global Mandiri University Community Service Team, Palembang, intends to establish partnership with IREMA Baiturrahman with an internal service scheme, namely 1) Giving insight into Branding and how to make it. 2) Give branding skills to the trainees. 3) Improve skills for participants who already have foundation in Fine Arts. 4) Provide motivation and tips for participants to become individuals independent and able to produce Brands on a regular basis. The methods used in this Branding training activity are the Socialization and Lecture Method, the Demonstration Method & Guidance & Participatory Methods. Branding training activities at IREMA, participants can make brands and some can make mascots with different levels of ability

Abstract

The present inquiry investigated the dicto-comp’ effectiveness on the writing achievement of EFL learners. An experimental research design, chiefly concerned on the non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design, was taken into the research. Thirty six students were taken as the sample purposively. An English writing test was employed as the primary instrument to assess the writing achievement of EFL learners. The research results found out (1) the EFL learners’ English writing achievement level in the group of experimental after the treatment given was in the good and very good category, (2) dicto-comp significantly improved the EFL learners English writing achievement in the experimental group, and (3) dicto-comp made significant difference on EFL learners’ English writing achievement than those who were not. In conclusion, implementing dicto-comp improved the writing achievement of the EFL learners significantly. Pedagogical implications for English students and lecturers, stakeholder, and near future researchers were also made in this research.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat ini berjudul “Pelatihan Pembuatan SIRUCI (Sirup Jeruk Kunci) Sebagai Upaya Menumbuhkan Jiwa Social Enterpreneurship Selama Covid-19 Pada Komunitas Ikatan Remaja Masjid Baiturrahman Kebun Bunga, Kota Palembang, Sumatera Selatan”. Latar belakang dari kegiatan ini, adalah untuk mensupport kalangan remaja yang tergabung dalam Ikatan Remaja Masjid Baiturrahman Kebun Bunga (IRMA Baiturrahman) sebagai tim mitra dalam menumbuhkan produktifitas jiwa kewirausahaan sosial dengan memanfaatkan peluang dan kesempatan selama situasi pandemic Covid-19 untuk membuat Sirup Jeruk Kunci yang diberi label “SIRUCI” sebagai minuman Kesehatan yang memperkuat imunitas. Tujuan dan manfaat dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini, adalah : 1). Memberikan pelatihan berupa pengetahuan yang menunjang kemampuan tim mitra, IRMA Baiturrahman dalam mengolah Jeruk Kunci menjadi produk minuman sehat. 2) Menumbuhkan jiwa wira usaha remaja selama pandemi Covid-19 dengan sikap solutif dan produktif dalam memanfaatkan bahan baku lokal, sebagai usaha untuk keluar dari permasalahan. Metode yang dilakukan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini meliputi tiga tahapan,yaitu : 1). Tahap Observasi, yaitu tahapan pengumpulan data meliputi kondisi wilayah, kondisi ekonomi dan kondisi sosial dari tim mitra yang akan terlibat dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini. 2).Tahap Sosialisasi, yaitu pemberian modul materi pelatihan oleh tim pelaksana dan yang dibantu oleh beberapa mahasiswa UIGM mengenai tata cara proses pembuatan sirup Jeruk Kunci dan tata cara pengemasan produk, Pada metode ini, tim pelaksana menggunakan metode Small Discussion Group[ dan ceramah. 3). Tahap Pelatihan, yaitu uji coba pembuatan dan pengolahan Jeruk Kunci menjadi Sirup Jeruk Kunci yang secara langsung oleh tim mitra yang dipandu oleh tim pelaksana dan narasumber.Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini, tim mitra telah berhasil membuat produk sirup Jeruk Kunci dan mengemasnya dalam kemasan botol plastic ukuran 80 ml, serta memberi nama produk dengan label “SIRUCI”. Selain itu juga kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini, telah dipublikasikan pada Media Online Sumsel Terkini dengan judul “IRMA Baiturrahman Kebun Bunga Dilatih Branding & Bikin Produk SIRUCI” yang terbit pada tanggal 21 Maret 2022.Kata kunci : Social Enterpreneurship, Youth Development and Empowerment , Pelatihan   Siruci,  Ikatan Remaja Masjid

Abstract

This research aimed at seeing whether or not the EFL learners had positive perception towards teaching English writing with dictocomp. An experimental research design which mainly concerned on the descriptive analysis was used. Eighteen students were selected purposively as the research sample. A close-ended questionnaire with 15 question items was used as a main instrument to see their feedback. The research findings revealed that the EFL learners’ learning motivation and confidence were exceedingly boosted. In addition, their English writing difficulties were slightly solved. Furthermore, their English writing performance had positive and significant development after being instructed with dictocomp. Another positive response was about the English writings aspects of the EFL learners were also well-improved. Thus, in concluding, the EFL learners had positive perception towards the implementation of dictocomp in English writing classroom.
