Abstract

ABSTRAK This study aims to determine whether or not there is an effect of the Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, and Transferring (REACT) learning strategy on the mathematical communication skills of grade VII students at MTs Ash-Shohibiyah Bangun Purba. This type of research is a Quasi Experiment study with the Posttest Only Control Group Design design. This study's population were students of class VII MTs Ash-Shohibiyah Bangun Purba with a sample of class VII.1 and class VII.2. Samples were obtained using random sampling techniques. The experimental class uses the REACT strategy, while the control class uses conventional learning. This research instrument is a question of a description of mathematical communication skills. Posttest data on mathematical communication skills obtained were analyzed data to test the hypothesis. The normality test results showed that data were normally distributed, and the homogeneity test results showed that the data had variants that were not homogeneous. Hypothesis testing used the t 'test because the data were normally distributed and not homogeneous. The results of the calculation concluded that there was an effect of the learning strategy of Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, and Transferring (REACT) on the mathematical communication skills of grade VII students at MTs Ash-Shohibiyah Bangun Purba.

Abstract

This study discusses the development of the Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) test instrument, the material for the three-variable linear equation system for class X SMA. This study aims to: 1) determine the steps in developing the HOTS test instrument, 2) Knowing the validity value of the HOTS test instrument. This study uses a type of research and development (Research and Development). The development model used is the Formative Research Tessmer type development model, which consists of 2 main stages: the preliminary stage and the formative evaluation stage. In stage 1 consists of preliminary and self-evaluation. In stage 2, the formative evaluation includes prototyping. The data collection technique used was a test. The instruments used in this study were test instruments and validation sheets. Validity is known from the results of the validator's assessment on the validation sheet, which states that the test instrument has been well developed based on content (according to curriculum and material), construct (according to HOTS characteristics/indicators), language (following applicable language rules), time allocation and instructions question. Based on the prototype stage results, a predetermined quality criterion test instrument was produced, namely valid and overall suitable for use as a HOTS question

Abstract

AbstractThis research is aimed to know: 1) the increasing of student’s understanding concepts mathematics ability as an impact of guided discovery method on learning with Geogebra software, 2) the interaction between learning and  early mathematic ability  in increasing understanding concepts mathematics ability, and 3) The student’s activities  in teaching and learning. This research was a quasy experiment with the sample of this research was 80 students, consisted of VII-1 class with 40 students as an experiment 1 class and VII- class with 40 students as a experiment 2  class. The instruments used consist of understanding concepts ability test and the observation sheets. The data analyzed by using anacova in the SPSS program. Based on the result of this research, it could be concluded that the  improvement of student’s understanding concepts mathematics ability through guided discovery method with Geogebra software was better than improvement of student’s understanding concepts mathematics ability without Geogebra software. There was not an interaction between the instructional approach and early mathematic ability to improvement of student’s understanding concepts mathematics ability. Students activity in learning by using guided discovery method with software Geogebra was better than students activity without Geogebra software. Keywordguided discovey, geogebra software, the ability of understanding mathematical concepts

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to produce a student activity sheet based guided discovery me-thod to improve understanding of the mathematical concept of junior high school students, determine the effectiveness and increase the ability of understanding mathematical concepts that students use the worksheet-based method of guided discovery. The method used was the development of research de-velopment model 4-D, that was define, design, develop and disseminate. The research was conducted in SMP Islam Kepenuhan of Rokan Hulu Riau with research subjects grade VIIIA. Student activity sheet and research instruments validated to the experts, then conducted limited field trial, resulting in the final and disseminate is the use of student activity sheet that has been developed on a broader scale, to subject teachers school math test field try to use this device. The results of the implementation of the trials showed Student Activity Sheet effective to use, as shown by an increase in the ability of students' understanding of the concept, where students in classical completeness there are 30 students who reached the KKM ≥ 70 ie 83.33% of the proceeds from the pretest posttest whereas only 23 those students who completed ie 63.88%, further capabilities increase student understanding of the concept of before and after learning that the average pretest results and the ability of understanding the con-cept 69.84 average yield of 81.35 posttest understanding of the concept. Based on the analysis of data, it is advisable to use a math teacher to student activity sheet based methods guided discovery learning.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya pengaruh penggunaan Lembar Aktivitas Siswa (LAS) berbasis metode penemuan terbimbing terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis siswa SMP. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMPN 3 Rambah pada siswa kelas VII. Data yang dikumpulkan adalah data peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah soal essay yang disusun berdasarkan indikator kemampuan representasi matematis. Hasil analisis data menggunakan uji Mann Whitney diperoleh nilai Zhitung yaitu 2,13 dan nilai Ztabel yaitu 1,96. Hal ini berarti Zhitung > Ztabel dengan demikian sesuai kriteria penguhian hipotesis, Ho ditolak. Oleh karena itu dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan LAS berbasis metode penemuan terbimbing terhadap peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa SMP. The Effect of Use of Student Activity Sheets Based on Guided Discovery Method on Increasing Students Mathematical Representation Ability AbstractThis study aims to determine whether or not the influence of the use of Student Activity Sheet (SAS) based on guided discovery methods on the mathematical representation ability of junior high school students. This research was a quasi-experimental study with Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. This research was conducted at SMPN 3 Rambah in class VII students. The data collected was data on improving students mathematical representation abilities. The instrument used was an essay test which was arranged based on indicators of mathematical representation ability. The results of data analysis using the Mann Whitney test obtained a calculated value of 2.13 and a Ztable value of 1.96. This means that Zhitung> Ztable is thus according to the criteria of hypothesis testing, Ho was rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the use of SAS based guided discovery method on improving the mathematical representation ability of junior high school students.

Abstract

The statistical education course is one of the compulsory courses taken by English language education students. Students must master and be proficient in statistics to support their needs in processing research results in their final project or thesis. However, based on student learning outcomes last semester, it is not known that the separation of the 24 students obtained a C value so this affects the ability of students to process research data, especially students who have research and observation methods. This problem is because students do not have study resources / statistical text books specifically for English research. This study aims to see the need for statistical teaching materials for special education in English education research. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with the research subjects of English education students at Pasir Pengaraian University who assess 30 students. Based on the results of the questionnaire data analysis and interviews conducted in the district, it is necessary to teach statistics for special education in the field of English with the help of the SPSS application. Teaching materials developed with simple case examples in the field of English research. The teaching materials developed will be tested at a later stage.

Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika memiliki objek bersifat abstrak, untuk memahami ide-ide matematika tersebut, maka peserta didik memerlukan kemampuan untuk merepresentasi ide tersebut agar lebih konkret dan mudah dipahami. Peserta didik memiliki kemampuan yang berbeda-beda dalam merepresentasikan suatu masalah matematis. Perbedaan kemampuan tersebut berdampak pada perbedaan kemampuan peserta didik dalam merepresentasikan suatu masalah matematis untuk memahami suatu konsep matematika. Kemampuan representasi matematis merupakan kemampuan yang menjadi dasar bagi peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan matematis. Berkenaan dengan hal itu, penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif, bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil kemampuan representasi matematis peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan matematis. Populasi penelitian ini adalah peserta didik Kelas VIII SMP Muhammadiyah Rambah tahun pelajaran 2019/2020. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pemberian tes kemampuan representasi matematis berupa soal uraian yang sesuai dengan indikator kemampuan representasi matematis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa rata-rata skor kemampuan representasi matematis siswa adalah 10,31 dari skor maksimal ideal adalah 28. Hal ini menunjukkan kemampuan representasi siswa masih tergolong rendah atau daya serap siswa hanya 36,82%. Rata-rata skor untuk masing-masing indikator representasi matematis yang diukur yaitu kemampuan siswa membuat gambar untuk memperjelas masalah dan memfasilitasi penyelesaiannya adalah 1,86, Kemampuan siswa menyelesaikan masalah dengan melibatkan ekspresi matematik adalah 1,50 dan kemampuan siswa menuliskan interpretasi dari suatu representasi adalah 1,04.

Abstract

Salah satu sektor yang terdampak pandemi Covid-19 adalah pendidikan. Pembelajaran yang biasa dilakukan dengan tatap muka, tidak dapat dilakukan lagi untuk menghambat penyebaran virus covid-19. Selama kurang lebih satu tahun, guru melaksanakan pembelajaran secara daring, sehingga guru memiliki tantangan maupun hambatan serta strategi tersendiri terhadap pelaksanaan pembelajaran daring itu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan pembelajaran matematika yang dilaksanakan guru selama masa pandemi covid-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan instrument penelitian kuisioner online dengan bantuan google form. Kuisioner terdiri atas pertanyaan terbuka dan tertutup yang memuat aspek strategi pembelajaran yang dilakukan guru, tantangan atau hambatan, serta keuntungan yang diperoleh dari implementasi pembelajaran daring. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa strategi pembelajaran yang dilakukan guru selama pembelajaran daring di masa pandemi Covid-19 yaitu guru langsung mengajar siswa dengan menggunakan Google Meet ataupun Zoom, guru mengirimkan video pembelajaran kepada siswa baik yang direkam sendiri maupun video pembelajaran dari platform yang sudah ada, kemudian guru memberikan penugasan melalui platform online. Platform yang paling banyak digunakan guru dalam pembelajaran daring adalah whatshapp (90,5%), google clasroom (66,7%), youtube (28,6%), Zoom (23,8%), Google Meet (23,8%), telegram (14,3%), facebook (4,8%) dan instagram (4,8%). Tantangan atau hambatan yang dihadapi guru selama pembelajaran online, yaitu guru sulit beradaptasi dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran online. Selanjutnya hambatan yang paling banyak dialami siswa adalah signal yang kurang baik, kurangnya motivasi dan kemandirian siswa dalam belajar. Sedangkan keuntungan yang diperoleh guru dalam pelaksanaan daring yaitu bertambahnya pengetahuan guru tentang teknologi dan efisiensi tempat dan waktu.

Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika dengan student centred merupakan pembelajaran yang perlu dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran matematika dan kemampuan matematis siswa. Pembelajaran tersebut dapat memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk membangun pengetahuannya sendiri melalui proses penemuan kembali konsep-konsep matematis. Hal ini menjadi dasar untuk mengembangkan suatu Lembar Aktivitas Siswa (LAS) berbasis metode penemuan terbimbing. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan LAS berbasis metode penemuan terbimbing. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) menggunakan model pengembangan 4-D yaitu tahap define, design, develop dan disseminate. LAS yang telah dirancang selanjutnya dilakukan validasi oleh ahli. Kevaliditan produk dilihat dari hasil penilaian validator untuk 4 (empat) aspek yaitu aspek didaktik, aspek isi, aspek bahasa, dan aspek tampilan. Hasil validasi I dari ahli memiliki rata-rata keseluruhan aspek 3,6 dengan kategori cukup valid. Hasil validasi II dari ahli mencapai rata-rata keseluruhan aspek 4,5 dengan kategori valid. Penilaiain kepraktikalitas LAS diperoleh rata-rata keseluruhan aspek penilaian yaitu 4,5 dengan kategori praktis. Berdasarkan hasil validasi yang telah dilakukan dapat dilihat bahwa LAS berbasis Metode Penemuan terbimbing telah dinyatakan valid dan praktis oleh validator. Hal ini berarti LAS tersebut sudah layak dan bisa digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran matematika pada siswa SMP.
