Abstract

Potential energy savings is one way to plan for optimizing the supply and use ofenergy needed by the industry. Portrait of the use of electrical energy used incarpet industry supplied from PT.PLN (Persero) with the power contract for 1730kVA through 2 pieces of the transformer with electrical energy consumption by anaverage of 19,979,941 kWh per year. Supplies of gas / diesel fuel oil for boilerfeed of 1.4537 million m3 per year with a calorific value of 6 tons / hour and 900liters of diesel oil per year. Working voltage is still in the allowed range, while forthe voltage unbalance is still low at under 2.5% and total harmonic distortionvoltage is still low at 2% and this can be expressed less well and there are lowpower factor at some expense. Supplies of gas / diesel fuel oil for boiler feed of 1.4537million m3 per year with a calorific value of 6 tons / hour and 900 liters of diesel oilper year. Thermal energy used in the production process in industry (in case:PT.Classic Prima Carpet Industries) divided into thermal energy in the form of hotwater vapor (steam) and the other in the form of natural gas. Energy is producedfrom 2 (two) units of gas boilers and steam boilers each with a capacity of 6 tons/ hour, in which the steam boiler in a state of stand-by and operated only whenproduction increases.Kata kunci: energi, efisiensi, termal, boiler, penghematan, konversi, konservasi

Abstract

Identify potential energy savings is one way to optimize the supply and use ofenergy in industrial sector. Electrical energy supplied by PT. PLN (Persero) withinstalled power capacity of 30,000 kVA. Electrical energy to the productionprocess with a voltage of 20 kV through 11 (eleven) units transformer. Based onthe results of power quality measurements with HIOKI 3197 and HIOKI 3286-20show as seen in the previous section, it can be seen that: (a) load unbalancesseen from the voltage and current in the transformer MCC-01 and thetransformer E-34. (b) magnitude fluctuating voltage on the main transformerphase S and T. Even the relatively high voltage (up to 233 V) on the transformerlighting. (c) the power factor is around 0.92 is good enough, but the power factorat the transformer low enough E-34 which reached 0.56. The power factor ontransformer lighting value -1 (leading). (d) total harmonic distortion (THD) voltageand current transformer at some fairly high beyond the limit of tolerance. Thereare several potential energy savings that can be identified, among others:decrease the voltage and current THD, reduction of reactive power consumptionin lighting, improved load balancing.Kata kunci: energi, listrik, faktor daya, penghematan, filter harmonic

Abstract

Energy audit is one way to plan for optimizing the supply and use of energyneeded by the industry. Portrait of the use of electrical energy used in Industrysupplied from PT.PLN (Persero) with the power contract for 23000 kVA and POJPower Jatiluhur with installed capacity of 5800 kVA. Especially for electric energysupplied from POJ Power, status of electricity continues to be a contract with themanager of POJ Power Jatiluhur. Based on the results of measurement of powerquality with PQA Hioki 3197 is as described in the previous section, it can beseen that: (a) Load unbalances seen from the voltage and current, (b) Fluctuatingvoltage magnitude at phase R, S and T. Even the voltage at Mill #2 reaches 238V, (c) The power factor is quite good and it ranged from 0.90 to 0.93, (d) TotalHarmonic Distortion (THD) voltage at Mill #2 lower the tolerance limit of 5%,while at Mill #3 exceeds the limit of tolerance (5.8%), (e) Voltage unbalance onMill #2 and Mill #3 below the limit of tolerance (2.5%).Kata kunci: audit, energi, listrik, faktor daya, penghematan, filter harmonik

Abstract

Chlorine is a chemical substance, which has been used in many industriesfor a long time, especially in the pulp and paper industry and drinking watertreatment. Chlorine has been used in making dye, medicine, plastic, solvent and dry clean. In the sector of energy and electricity, chlorine is used in the cooling water system. Due to the lack of condition of chlorine’s storage, it will lead to the leakage of chlorine gas, which will endanger environment and health. Waste from industrial activity containing chlorine has a potential to damage environment. Chlorine also can easily react with many compounds because of its character as a strong oxidator. If chlorine and organic compounds are bound to each other, they will cause carcinogenic effect. Based on the consideration of the danger of chlorine on environment and health, many countries in the world strive to reduce its use in industries. Many alternatives and technologies have been developed to alternate the function of the chlorine.

Abstract

Fuel cell is a device which is purposed to convert chemical energy into electric energy and produce water as side result. Fuel cell technology doesn’t produce emission and doesn’t make noises and also as environmental friendly energy has a high efficiency until 45% in fuel conversion to electricity, and it can be higher until 60% – 80% if it isco-generation. A fuel processing system converts hydrocarbon or other organic fuels to hydrogen of composition and purity suitable for fuel cell operation. The fuels include petroleum derived liquids, such as naphtha and gasoline, petroleum derived gases, such as methane and propane, and other fuel such as methanol and ethanol. The electrolyte in the center allows only the protons to pass through the membrane to the cathode side of the fuel cell. The electrons cannot pass through this membrane and flow through an external circuit in the form of electric current. As oxygen flows into the fuel cell cathode, another catalyst helps the oxygen, protons, and electrons combine to produce pure water and heat.
