Factors affecting the community did not reach a better level are due to the lack of ability to translate al-Quran, and understand al-Quran as a substantive source. Another factor why the quality of public understanding on the al-Quran is not maximal is the lack of motivation of the family and social environment to carry out religious activities, to socialize and improve behavior in worship. By using the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) method which has the principle that everything leads to the context of understanding and internalizing assets, potential, strength and utilization independently and maximally. The process of implementing this service activity is carried out by observation, socialization, discussion, mentoring, monitoring and evaluation. Abstract

Mental health is an essential aspect of the definition of health presented by the World Health Organization. However, it has not received much attention even though the prevalence of mental disorders based on data from the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey shows that 1.4% experience depression, 4% experience symptoms of schizophrenia, and 2% experience mental health problems. Adolescents, including Islamic boarding school students, are one of the vulnerable groups experiencing mental health disorders. For this reason, lecturers and students of the Islamic Counseling Guidance Program carry out community service, which aims to provide students with knowledge about mental health. The method for implementing the activity was a lecture using slide share media and leaflets, which 56 students attended. The material presented is about the importance of mental health for Santri students, which includes definitions, characteristics of healthy mental health, examples of mental health disorders, and efforts to maintain mental health. Evaluation of activities using a five-question questionnaire and the results of the counseling can increase students' literacy regarding mental health. This service activity went well and received a good response from the Islamic boarding school management and students as participants in the outreach activity.

Abstract

This study examines law enforcement practices and their effectiveness in addressing illegal gold mining in Jambi Province, with additional analysis from the perspective of Fiqh Jinayah (Islamic criminal law). Employing an empirical juridical approach, the research was conducted in Sarolangun, Merangin, and Bungo Regencies. Informants included police officials from each region and individuals involved in illegal gold mining. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis, and analyzed via data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. Findings reveal that law enforcement efforts begin with public education on environmental protection and the legal consequences of illegal mining. However, these efforts remain largely ineffective due to legal, structural, and socio-economic challenges. Contributing factors include the misalignment between laws and local realities, vague legal formulations, limited outreach, inadequate sanctions, and resource constraints faced by authorities. From the perspective of Fiqh Jinayah, illegal gold mining is categorized under Jarimah Ta’zir, allowing judge’s discretion in sentencing. Punishments can include imprisonment, fines, corporal penalties, or warnings, guided by principles of justice for both society and offenders. The study suggests that integrating Fiqh Jinayah may offer a culturally relevant alternative to enhance the deterrent effect and improve the overall effectiveness of law enforcement in this context.
