Abstract

ABSTRACT Anemia and chronic energy deficiency (CED) among women of reproductive age (WRA), particularly during pregnancy, remain significant public health problems in Indonesia, including Serang Regency, where the prevalence of anemia among pregnant women reaches 72.5%. This study aimed to develop a predictive model of anemia and chronic energy deficiency prevention behavior among women of reproductive age who are married, not currently pregnant, have previously experienced pregnancy, and plan future pregnancies in Serang Regency. This study employed a mixed-methods approach using a sequential exploratory design. The qualitative phase was conducted through in-depth interviews, observations, and document reviews involving women of reproductive age, health workers, and community health volunteers to explore factors influencing anemia and chronic energy deficiency prevention behaviors. The quantitative phase was conducted using a questionnaire survey involving 308 respondents selected through stratified random sampling. Data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate, and multiple linear regression analyses. The results showed significant relationships between knowledge, attitudes, family support, the role of health workers, and access to health services with anemia and chronic energy deficiency prevention behavior among women of reproductive age (p 0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that knowledge, attitudes, family support, the role of health workers, and access to health services simultaneously had a significant effect on anemia and chronic energy deficiency prevention behavior among women of reproductive age. The most dominant variable influencing prevention behavior was respondents’ attitudes. Anemia and chronic energy deficiency prevention behavior among women of reproductive age in Serang Regency is influenced by both individual and environmental factors. The developed predictive model demonstrated substantial contributions from the examined variables. Appropriate health education and adequate social support were found to be effective in promoting preventive behaviors and may serve as a basis for more effective interventions to reduce the risk of anemia and chronic energy deficiency. Keywords: Anemia, Self-efficacy, Chronic Energy Deficiency, Prevention Behavior, Women of Reproductive Age. Abstract

The process of getting old will continue to occur and cause various morphological changes that affect the function of the respiratory system. The respiratory system in the elderly shows a structural and functional decline, resulting in increased respiratory work compared to other young people. This is associated with a decreased ability when suffering from mother acute diseases such as heart defects, bacterial or viral infections, and blockages in the airway. The risk of complications from COVID-19 is higher in some vulnerable populations, especially the elderly and individuals who suffer from weakness or have some chronic conditions. The risk of death increases with age and is also higher in those with diabetes, heart disease, blood clotting problems, or who have shown signs of sepsis. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between Knowledge and COVID-19 Prevention Behavior in the Elderly This type of research is quantitative research. The population is all elderly in the working area of Piru Health Centre, which consists of 123 people. The sample consisted of 94 people selected by simple random sampling. Research instruments are questionnaires of knowledge and behavior. Data analysis is performed univariately and bivariate using the chi-square test. The results showed a significant relationship between knowledge and COVID-19 prevention behavior in the elderly in the Piru Health Center Work Area. Knowledge influences the behavior of the elderly health, so it is hoped that the government can provide Health Education to improve the understanding of the elderly to improve COVID-19 prevention behavior.

Abstract

Some of the problems that are quite often encountered by midwives during childbirth assistance are some complications during childbirth, including power problems, the mother's mistakes in the pushing process, and problems with improper breathing regulation which can cause a long labor process, so preventive measures can be increased such as pregnancy exercise which can show better clinical results or clinical outcomes at the time of delivery. This study aims to determine the effect of pregnancy exercise on clinical outcomes of childbirth at the Pratama Ratna Komala Clinic, Bekasi Regency, in 2022. This study used a non-parametric testing method with the Mann-Whitney method, totaling 20 respondents with 10 respondents participating in pregnancy exercise and 10 respondents did not participating in pregnancy exercise. The results of differences in clinical outcome between the experimental and control group showed that the Asymp Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05 so that H0 was rejected which means that there is an effect of pregnancy exercise on clinical outcomes of childbirth. Pregnancy exercise can reduce pain and speed up the delivery process. It is hoped that the Pratama Ratna Komala Bekasi Clinic will continue to socialize pregnancy exercises to pregnant women to continue doing pregnancy exercises regularly. Midwives need to provide health counseling to pregnant women regarding the benefit of pregnancy exercise.

The instrument for data collection is the Observation Sheet. Data analysis used the Chi-square statistical test with an α value of 5% (α = 0.05). Based on statistical tests, there is a relationship between knowledge of pregnant women p-value 0.003<0.05, a relationship between family support p-value 0.00 <0.001, and no relationship to anxiety p-value 0.406 > 0.05.
