Abstract

Surveying the differences of importance level of service variables is a must for service providers. The ten service variables are tangible, reliability, responsiveness, competence, courtesy, credibility, security, access, communication, and understanding the customer. The categories of service providers to be compared are recreative (represented by supermarket and restaurant) and non recreative (represented by hospital and education/university) characteristics. The result shows there are no differences among recreative and non recreative service providers. But there are some differences among each service providers, because of unique characteristics of each service provider. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Diduga ada perbedaan tingkat kepentingan variabel layanan pada jasa yang bersifat rekreatif (supermarket, restoran) dan non rekreatif (rumah sakit, pendidikan/perguruan tinggi). Penelitian ini bertujuan membandingkan tingkat kepentingan variabel-variabel layanan pada bidang-bidang jasa tersebut. Dalam penelitian ini terdapat sepuluh variabel layanan yang akan disoroti, yaitu tangible, reliability, responsiveness, competence, courtesy, credibility, security, access, communication, dan understanding the customer. Hasil perbandingan menunjukkan tidak ada beda tingkat kepentingan variabel layanan antara jasa rekreatif dan non rekreatif. Namun terdapat perbedaan tingkat kepentingan pada masing-masing jasa, karena adanya perbedaan karakteristik jasa. Kata kunci: Servqual, tingkat kepentingan.

Abstract

One of the service industries that grow faster than the others is insurance industry. Since there are a lot of companies that involved in this kind of industry, clients need to select a certain company that served the best service compared to the others. The objectives of this research are to determine the most important service dimension based on the customers' opinion, to measure customers' expected and perceived values of each service dimension, and to determine which company that provide the best services on each service dimension. This research used servqual method. The questionnaire was distributed to 260 clients of 10 well-known insurance industries in Surabaya. They were asked about five service dimensions, i.e.: tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. The result shows that the most important service dimension is empathy. The highest expected values is reliability. The service dimension which provide the best service is tangible. Generally there are no companies that exceed the customers' expected values Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Salah satu industri jasa yang sangat pesat pertumbuhannya adalah jasa asuransi. Memilih penyedia jasa asuransi yang tepat wajib dilakukan sekalipun bukan hal yang mudah. Hal ini disebabkan kewajiban nasabah sudah harus ditempuh, sementara manfaat asuransi baru diperoleh beberapa bulan atau tahun kemudian. Nasabah perlu mengetahui perusahaan asuransi mana yang memberikan layanan baik. Sementara perusahaan asuransi juga perlu mengetahui dimensi layanan apa saja yang dianggap penting oleh nasabah, serta harapan dan kepuasan nasabah untuk masing-masing dimensi layanan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode service quality (servqual), terhadap 260 nasabah dari 10 perusahaan asuransi besar di Surabaya untuk lima dimensi layanan, yaitu tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance dan empathy. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dimensi empathy yang tertinggi tingkat kepentingannya. Dimensi reliability menjadi dimensi dengan tingkat harapan terbesar. Dimensi dengan layanan terbaik adalah tangible. Secara keseluruhan masih terjadi gap antara harapan dan kepuasan responden. Kata kunci: Kualitas layanan, metode servqual, analisis gap.

Abstract

Indeed, there are many failure cases in entrepreneurs’ life. The psychological effects of business failure may produce shame and dysfunctional behavior responses. Do the entrepreneurs consider about the potential of shame they face? Do entrepreneurship education institutions pay attention to business closing as well as its impact to entrepreneurs’ identity?  This research explored the curricula of 66 top business schools which have entrepreneurship specialization. There was a course category, namely self-development, which is important for entrepreneurs to build their mental, self-leadership, self-awareness, self-image, etc. Unfor­tunately, from 2908 courses offered, only 12.76% courses were related to entrepreneurship and 0.79% courses to self-development issues. The curricula were dominated by business knowledge and business skills. There was a missing link, i.e., “when the business goes wrong”, how to cope with failure, how to overcome shame, guilt, depression, stress, etc. In conclusion, there were lacks of self-development courses in the entre­preneurship education programs. This paper recommends to prepare the students to anticipate and overcome the shame by adding more psychological-related courses in the curriculum.

Abstract

PT AW PLUS UPVC Bali is a company engaged in the production of UPVC-based doors and windows located on the island of Bali. The production process of PT AW PLUS UPVC Bali involves tools, cutting machines, and welding machines, thus if the production process is not carried out carefully, injuries can occur. This company also does not have a work hazard identification document, thus the company is still unable to fully understand the risks of accidents that can arise in each of its production processes. Therefore, the purpose of this final project is to design hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk control or HIRARC to reduce the risk of injury in the production process of PT AW PLUS UPVC Bali. The writing of this final project starts with direct observation and interviews with the company. After the risk has been identified, a risk assessment will then be carried out by determining the level of likelihood and severity of the risk. The results of the assessment show 43 potential hazards with medium risk rating, and 3 potential hazards with extreme risk rating.

Abstract

PT X is a manufacturing company that produce healthcare product such as medicated and non-medicated plaster. The company do not have occupational health and safety division yet, so there was several dangerous accident that have occurred. Risk analysis is carried out to detect potential risk before accident happened. Risk analysis hopefully could make a sense of security and comfort for the employees that work there. The research begins with a literature study on HIRARC, company observations, hazard identification, risk assessment, then risk control. Risk control will be validated first by the company. If it is valid then an assessment will be carried out to see the estimated reduction of risk value after the risk control is implemented. The result of risk analysis is that, there are several potential hazards in the poduction area. The potential divided into 10 mild potential, 13 moderate potential, 6 significant potential, and 2 high risk potential. Risk controls are designed using risk control hierarchy that is elimination, substitute, technical design, administrative engineering, and personal protective equipment (PPE). After risk control is done, the risk reduction forecast is moderate potential become 1, significant potential become 3, and high risk potential is none.

Abstract

Health and Safety Management System (SMK3) is a system management thoroughly covering the organizational structure, planning, responsibility, procedures, and resources it takes to execute health and safety management system (K3). The purpose of this thesis is to design SMK3 in accordance with Government Regulations number 50 of 2012 and still within the company’s ability to implement it.. The SMK3 design method consists of several sequential stages, initial audits, interviews about company capability, initial gap analysis, policy setting, the design of the implementation of K3, K3 monitoring design, the introduction of new K3 and the new audit. After designing the new audit, an initial gap comparison analysis phase is carried out. The new gap must be smaller than the old gap. If the old gap is smaller than the new gap, then the SMK3 design must be redone. The results of the preliminary audit showed that the company only meet 5 (4.09%) point assessment. The ideal percentage level is to meet as much as 60% of the assessment points. The final results of the design carried out resulted in appropriateness of evaluations totaling 118 (96.72%) points of assessment, so it can be said that the company has fulfilled the implementation of SMK3.

Abstract

PT. Pelindo III, Benoa, Bali is a company engaged in logistics services or can be referred to as a dock or port managed by Indonesian SOEs. The problem that occurs is that workers or employees do multitasking in carrying out job descriptions. This research was conducted so that the multitasking job description can be carried out properly and optimally. Researchers identify and analyze job descriptions and job competencies, so that job descriptions designed based on employee competence in accordance with the abilities and skills of each employee. There are some job descriptions that are designed that are not appropriate, such as job descriptions for managers, because some of the job descriptions that are carried out should be carried out by the security division. The job description will be readjusted once the Security Division has been established. The redesigned job description can be said to be quite good and can be accepted by every employee who performs a multitasking job description.

Abstract

CV Penjunan Sejahtera is a company engaged in the service sector. Based on the results of interviews with company owners, it was found that there have been work accidents several times since the company's inception until now. Document design using the HIRARC method aims to assist CV Penjunan Sejahtera in identifying various work activities that have potential hazards, by providing a risk assessment of these potential hazards, as well as providing suggestions for improving risk control. The results of the design of the HIRARC document indicate that there are still many potentially hazardous work activities at each existing workstation. The activities include an activity with a low risk level of one event, a moderate risk level of 15 events, and a significant risk level of 19 events. Then the risk control stage will be carried out which aims to minimize the risk of potential hazards in five ways, namely elimination, substitution, technical engineering, administrative, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The risk rating reduction forecast is an estimate, if the risk control that has been proposed by the researcher is carried out by the company, then the reduction in the risk level which was initially quite dangerous becomes significantly reduced.

Abstract

PT Anugerah Rimba Raya is a wood processing company that doesn’t have work hazard identification document. The company’s previous accidents report showed that there were 19 accidents that occurred from 2018 to 2020. The design of the HIRARC document aims to identify the types of hazards that can occur in the work environment, to evaluate the magnitude of the risks and its impacts, and to document the efforts of hazard control in order to minimize hazard potential.  The source of data collected during hazard identification stage will be carried out by direct observation, crew interviews, and company’s previous accident record. Futhermore, at the risk assessment stage, 2 parameters will be used, probability and severity. The assessment stage will divide hazard risk into different levels which is extreme risk, high risk, medium risk, low risk. After that, the risk control will be carried out based on the control hierarchy which is divided into elimination, substitution, technical design, administrative control, personal protective equipment. The prediction result of reduction risk levels after proposed controls showed a decrease in the level of risk that existed before.

Abstract

PT. X is a kitchen equipment manufacturing company that has been operating since 1997. During its operation, PT. X already has an OHS policy, but the execution of the policy is still not detailed. Therefore, the purpose of this final project is to use HIRARC method to identify hazards, assess risks, and provide suggestions for control in the production process . By using HIRARC method, risks of existing work accidents can be analyzed and can be reduced. The initial stages of this final project are direct observations and interviews with the head of production. Then, identification of hazards, risk assessment, and finally the provision of control proposals so that the potential for work accidents can be minimized. After the analysis, it was found that there are 5 hazards with a high risk rating value, 14 hazards with a Significant risk rating value, 7 hazards with a Medium risk rating value, and 1 hazard with a Low risk rating value. A risk control design is carried out, if the proposal is carried out, the potential for reducing the level of hazard risk is 1 hazard with a Medium risk rating value and 26 hazards with a Low risk rating value.
