Abstract

Supermarket is currently experiencing rapid growth, it can even be becoming a trend setter / icon in a city, as well as the city of Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi. But along with the development of the supermarket also growing more and more, even in one city, there can be a supermarket. With so many existing supermarkets will be required one / supermarket that is different from the others to be the icon of the city. In addition to icon, supermarkets should also be able to be a facilitator for the community to meet their needs, not just as a place to purchase the product. So that people who come to the supermarket can be satisfied with the facilities and feel of space inside. By applying its unique design and element of local culture, in addition to meeting basic needs - today, the supermarket with the concept of All in One Market, is expected to design a supermarket in the town of Kendari can be a trend setter / icon Kendari city that does not leave the typical culture of the city of Kendari. With the data - the data and understanding of the culture of Kendari, the All in One Market design can be done properly, which can lead to the design of unique design and become an icon Kendari city.

Abstract

Art has now become an aspect of entertainment at this moment and has been a lifestyle for the people of Indonesia. Most of the Indonesians are enjoying art as entertainments for their everyday lives. Music, dance, fine arts, drama are a few examples of arts. With more and more communities are enjoying such arts, Indonesia has really appreciates art very much. Therefore, there is an idea of creating Performing Arts School here in Surabaya. The Performing Arts Scool will then facilitate students with a place to stay within the school. With the system of dormitory, students will be able to live nearby and ease them to study. The design of the Performing Arts School is following the modern retro style, adjusting with the target segment and that is students between the ages of 18 – 25 years old. This age range is the range where students are more interested with something that is contrast and catching attention. Interiors that are using bright colors and geometric style allows students to stimulate their creativity.

Abstract

Current development makes restaurant businesses become more promising, leads to many people started businesses in the field of food and beverages. The increasing amount of restaurant businesses drives the owners to think creatively in order to cultivate their restaurants in attracting visitors. Restaurant with a good potential will also have a great selling power. The chosen concept is Tulou with interior applications of geometry shapes, wood materials and a space concept that represent typical Tulou. Warm atmosphere is presented with the use of color gradations of brown and red as an accent that is typical of Miraza Mey restaurant. Meaningful symbols on furniture or interior elements trusted to bring good fortune to restaurant owners. The application of areas division concept will facilitate the activities in the restaurant. The design result are restaurant room, VIP room, kitchen, employee area, toilet and storage room designed by providing the required facilities.

Abstract

The phenomenon of the increasing number of homeless and beggars in Surabaya is a social welfare problem caused by the infrastructure that grows unevenly, which cause great migration from suburban to urban area, where not all people has enough ability or education. The “Harapan Baru” social parlors is designed as a shelter and training ground with a certain time span so they can learn and hopefully be equipped with something that can be used to get a good living. The concept used is “Ameliorate Gemstone” which means something will be valuable after being sharpened and going through several processes. That concept is applied through variety of rooms that use durable materials and able to answer all the resident needs, it also includes the nature elements like vertical garden, lighting system, and natural ventilation. This aims for energy and cost saving, as well as a learning for the occupant in processing scraps.

Abstract

The Rekarasa lounge in Petra Christian University is a facility that is used to stop by and lay back, which will be a study center. In the execution process, the lounge visitors are dominated by the students of Hospitality Management Department, and visitors which have a specific need (For example meetings and to greet guests). In the development plan that is carried out in the Rekarasa lounge, the author takes this opportunity to do researches to develop facilities for the lounge in order for it to be an excellent study center, by using facilities to attract students in Petra Christian University. By using Kembel’s design thinking, the development can be efficient and right on target, through processes which are defining the problem, data grouping, sistematical analysis, making a prototype and testing to accommodate the different needs of the user. After the testing phase, the final phase is the implementation phase which evaluates whether the product is sustainable or not and evaluating the effects and impacts that was made by the product solution. With the space limitations, the solution for it is a flexible and modular based facility. The design output are tables, chairs, stools, puffs and a side table. Therefore, it can be made into a business model as well as brand to be marketed to fulfill the various needs of the society also.

Abstract

The development of this advanced age demands that humans should have a vasy majority of extensive knowledge. Library is one of the most accurate and effective information centre, but the truth is, modern societies rely more on the internet that have lower accuracy than the library. Co-working (collaborative working) is a new work style that involves collavorative working environment so as to produce many new opportunities. The concept of the interior design, which combines a library and a work station  with co-working concept is giving a good impact to the circulation, which enables the user to work easier. The more fenceless environment is appearing as well between the users, so that the information can be acquired better. By combining the concepts with their own advantages, it is expected to stimulate the interest in reading, and also to expand relations, as well as increasing productivity in the work field and business in societies, especially in Surabaya.

Abstract

In the days of now the pattern and lifestyle society always following the trend. Gather is one of trend update, and restaurant is the target for them. Moreover, nowdays the peaople is very busy. They need something that could refresh theri minds as go on vacation abroad to enjoy the season. Therefore design with the concept of he season in the value of suitable. Beside, workshop as a food education area to make japanese food can be something unique in this restaurant. In this case, the design method used are data-accumulation method is done by literatures study about design, observation, and interview. Whereas the data-processing method is done by problems analysis, problem solving, programming, concept and schematic, and design development. The interviews and observations result shows that, trend, fact and concept become something important to facilitate what people's need and lifestyle.

Abstract

Nowadays, four-wheeled vehicle with the brand of Mitsubishi are not that well known to people of Samarinda. Two of the main reasons are, there are many other brands that are more popular than Mitsubishi and also the dull interior design of the showroom. Those issues then heavily affect the showroom sales of Mitsubishi. To overcome this issue, an intriguing design for the showroom is needed for Mitsubishi to make the brand stands out from its competitors.This showroom interior design of Mitsubishi in Samarinda presents the modern contemporary style composed with a “Fun and Cozy” concept that will make the showroom gives a distinguished impression and unique characteristic to customers in Samarinda. The use of natural materials will add to the modern contemporary style and also to help make the users, mainly customers and staffs, to feel extra comfortable during their visits and working hours.The design process of the showroom starts with the programming phase that includes the field data gathered from surveys and interview with the owner of the showroom. Then next is the making of design schematic, and finished with the final design phase.

Abstract

Bethany Church Malang has been established since 2015 and experienced a rapidly growing number of congregations. The need for worship space is increasing, where the congregation that initially only amounted to 100 people developed into 1000 people in every week. Inadequate Interior Design with a standard design and less comfortable is the reason for the need for a new Church design. Therefore, the new church will be built with a unique building form with a seed analogy that will grow and bring impact to the surrounding environment with an area of 2600 m2. Using 7 design methods (accept situation, analyze, define, ideate, select, implimentation, evaluate) and take the concept of Biophilic Design by exploiting the existing natural potential in the environment. This will make the congregation and minister of God feel closer to God and his creation. The results of this design in the form of Worship Space that accommodates 800 people with the facilities for the congregation such as prayer room, counseling room, cafeteria and there are many containers for the congregation can socialize with each other.

Abstract

These day the development of libraries in Indonesia is still relatively low, followed by the interest of Indonesian public readers that is also the same. The library is one of the most accurate and trusted information centers, but most people choose to get information from the internet. This is due to the condition of the library which is uncomfortable, boring, and lacks of facilities, including public libraries in the Probolinggo City. The interior of the library has a very important function and role for the people who come to visit it. A library must be supported with a comfortable and pleasant place, so visitor will be interested to come and go to the library. The method used in this interior design uses the design thinking process according to Hasso Plattner which consists of 6 stages, namely: understanding, observing, point of view, ideate, prototype, and test. The interior design takes the concept of “a Fun Experience in Education” which is intended to replace the image of boring library into fun and elevate the culture of the City of Probolinggo with the tagline "Kota 1000 taman" which aims to increase the level of interest in reading among Probolinggo people from childrens to adults with entertainment facilities but still educative. The design equipped with a reading and playing room for children, an adult reading room equipped with an outdoor area, an audio visual room, a multifunctional area, a café and a garden.
