Abstract

Surabaya has provided a place for community activities. But some of the places are less adequate or less attractive, so that Surabaya residents rarely or unwillingly come. For the SME Sewing Center, the government has provided a place but not being used maximally. The problem is that there are not many visitors that comes, the training site that have being used optimally, and not comfortable. Re-designing the space by giving it facility and maximizing rooms function with the needed room and meet the requirement.Design by providing facilities and maximizing the function of space with the space needed and meeting needs. So it can attract visitors and the tailors profit can increase. This design used design thinking methods, and that is understand, observation, point of view, ideate, prototype, and test. The results obtained could enhance and develop these SME center with an educational and historical approach about sewing. Facilities that is designed are, mini gallery, souvenir area, café and fashion catwalk area

Nestlé’s Cereal World is a new facility in foodservice industry, which people can explore and obtain a new experience about cereal through 4 main facilities: attraction, discover, dining, and shopping. Nestlé’s Cereal World design will use Nestlé’s interior branding, which the tangible and intangible design will represent the Nestlé’s Cereal identity.

Abstract

Garden Villa is one of the base units in Green Village, Bali in Taman Ayu Sibanggede Abiansemal street close to the Ayung river which is one of the major rivers in Bali. According to the designers of the group Green Village designer Ibuku, Garden Villa has a concept of Sustainable Design in the furniture and interior materials. Sustainable Design is a design which is during the process of taking the resources that exist in nature until reprocessing using methods that are not harmful to the environment or human health, so that the life of man and nature in the earth can continue to survive. Used to assess these data processing methods such as field observations, interviews, documentation, literature, and questionnaires. Then also use a mix of data analysis methods. Results from this study is the first, the material on the interior Garden Villa did not fully implement the Sustainable Design by comparing it with the principles of Sustainable Design, the operational principles, philosophy, and practice. Interior materials at Garden Villa meet operational principles by working with parties related to sustainable design decisions on the PT. Bamboopure Bali, Indonesia, the principle of philosophy that uses natural resources such as renewable and recyclable bamboo such as glass, stone, brass, and fabric, then the material is easy care, and practice the principles which were given coating material and preserved beforehand (bamboo) so it can be more durable. Does not meet the principles of philosophy because most of the bamboo used from Java so that no energy efficiency, and principles of practice due to one of the aspects of material processing such as finishing, and adhesive because it contains a substance does not meet the VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) Second, the questionnaire method used to determine whether the residence with the concept of Sustainable Design comfortable place to live or not. Number of respondents by 25 people who are residents of Green Village outcome is overall 90% felt comfortable staying at Green Village in Bali because of the atmosphere, facilities, and hygiene at Villa.

Abstract

With the increased economies of many working parents. As a result of normal family life becomes hampered, especially the attention to children - children that they need a day care. Day care centers are child care facilities are divided into groups that are usually performed during working hours. Facilities provided are a play area, study area, sleeping area, a library, cafeteria, office manager laundry, and soon. Concepts used in the interior design of Lego Day Care Centre in Surabaya is "Lego". Because Lego is one of the games favored by children - children and beneficial in helping to improve the child's motor performance of the sensor. And apply the shape and color that are characteristic of Lego into the design. Lego day care center is expected to help facilitate the development of children and parents who work.

Abstract

Research studies is about the application of vintage style in some cafe in Surabaya aims to determine the application of vintage design styles contained in the interior of the cafe Carpentier Kitchen , Canary Cafe , Daily Sweet Cafe , and Stilroad Cafe . Research studies of vintage style design will be carried out in Surabaya with a case study that some cafe in Surabaya that meets the criteria of vintage design styles , including the Carpentier Kitchen , Canary Cafe , Daily Sweet Cafe , and Stilroad Cafe . The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method . Since the purpose of the study was to determine the application of modern design vintage style cafe on the interior of each of which became a case study research . In collecting the data necessary literature studies , interviews , and direct observation to study the object . After the data is collected then proceed with data analysis methods and conclusions drawn in the end

Abstract

Sunday schoolis a place for spiritual growth and development of children. Spirituality as the foundation for the growth ofself-esteem, valuesanda sense of belongingis important in stilled since childhood, where the personality and behavior of individuals began tobe formed. Formation of personality and behavior are heavily influenced by the character of the physical environmentof his life. Therefore, it needs an environment that can effectively support the development of child spirituality. This study aims to find the concept of interior designing Gereja Pantekosta di Indonesia (GPdI) Sunday school classrooms in Sidoarjo—which can arouse the interest and support the spiritual development of children and reflectthe identity of the church organization. The concept will be used as the standard interior design of Sunday school classroom sthrough out GPdI in Sidoarjo.The study was conducted using the mixed research method. The result of participant observation, interviews, and questionnaires distributed to the sunday school teachers showed that the applied design concept of sundayschool classrooms could affect the spiritual development of children. Design concept was generated through the review of the organization’s philosophy, liturgy, curriculum, and was oriented to the achievement of children spiritual and interest. From the outcome of the analysis and synthesis phase, thus obtained the design concept of GPdI sunday school classrooms interior design, the Unconditional Love.

Abstract

Social home is a social service institution established by the government or the public or private sector, which aims to provide assistance to individuals, community groups in an effort to meet the needs of life. In fact, many social institutions are less concerned with the suitability of a place to live, which in the future can affect the quality of life of its inhabitants. With the problems previously described, the designer provides a solution in the form of a social re-interior design of a social home with a more modern and livable design, supported by universal design features that are expected to help the mobility efficiency of the occupants. The design thinking design method used was adopted by the Hasso-Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford. The five stages of design thinking according to this school are empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. The purpose of this design is to make a place to live that is habitable so that the residents feel at home living in the orphanage, facilitate mobility and make them to have the spirits to survive more in living their lives continuously.

Abstract

This public transportation waiting facility is designed in order to accommodate Surabaya city’s need of functional public transportation anticipation place, provided for any kind of citizens. The main facilities featured in this design are the shelter from weather, comfortable yet unabusable seats, supports for the disabled, and interesting decorative arts. The concept used in this design is “Livability”, referring to a good environment for a community to live in. There are certain principles emphasized to achieve that concept, such as “comfortable”, “vibrant”, “safe”, “enduring”, and “excellence”. The result established by this design is a comfortable, interesting, and safe environment so people can interact well with each other while waiting for the public transportation.

Abstract

Bowling and Billiard Club is a form of recreation that could accommodate the community's needs, especially Surabaya. As the information spread and people's interest to try something new rise, availability of functional Bowling and Billiard facility is needed. Hence, appears the idea to provide a recreational and sport facility which applies "Garden" theme concept design as a means of Family Entertainment. The design of this bowling and billiard club also including some types of support facilities such as Bowling Club Area, Billiard Area, VIP Room, Control Counter, a sports retail shop, gallery, café area, lounge and bar area, as well as reading area.
