Abstract

The interior design generally focuses on the aspect of function, but the development has a wider outreach, one of which is an aspect of human behavior as user space. The interior design is closely related to the problem of human activity, because people spend most of his life in a space. The major factor in the design of the interior is divided into three elements, human, space, and environment. This study aims to determine the effect of the interior of Toko Oen Malang visitor behavior, by using the theory of behavior settings. The results of this research indicate that the interior of Toko Oen Malang an impact on visitor activity pattern. It can be seen through the pattern of activity that is formed in each category, where visitors activity patterns are influenced by the shape, color, space organization, and circulation.

Abstract

People that suffer from cancer have a heavy medical burden. The side effect of their healing process is not only drains their energy and money, but also impacts on their mental. The interior design of Palliative Care’s House is designed to stimulate the positive energy around them. Healing Environment approach is used as a reference to create an environment that can reduces stressors from surrounding. It hopes that by being in this house, people can have enough rest and gain much hopes and positive energies. Palliative Care’s concept, which enhances the importance of patient’s psychology, applied by providing a clinic and therapies facilities for cancer patient to make them feel pampered and safe.

Tea is one beverage that is very popular and loved by the community. Because besides delicious taste, tea is very good for health. Indonesia is one of the best tea producing country in the world, and 90% with the best quality teas exported abroad. While tea is marketed in Indonesia itself is low quality. Therefore, Rollaas Gallery Tea in Surabaya will help people to get information about tea. Rollaas café is a brand owned by PTPN XII. Rollaas is a café that plant, harvest, and process their own raw materials grain. Rollaas café offers a variety of information and knowledge about all things plantation. In addition, all of the raw materials originating from the menu offered PTPN XII plantation in East Java. Although a domestic product, grain quality is not inferior to foreign products. Ranging from the quality of flavor to a dish display. Expected application of brand image on interior design Rollaas tea gallery in Surabaya can help people to find out various information about tea.

Abstract

Surabaya is currently developing the creative fashion industry. In order to accommodate fashion people, an organization called Indonesian Fashion Chamber (IFC) was established in 2015. IFC has created many creative programs and activities, and also contribute to small business (UKM) development in Surabaya. However, IFC has not had a permanent facility that could accommodate all their activities. Therefore, it is necessary to design a local fashion center "Indonesian Fashion Chamber" that intend to maximize facilities for fashion activity and bring more benefits to various parties. The design concept is "Idyllically Flexible in Character", which aim to create a beautiful, simple, and natural design, that focuses on design's flexibility in doing changes or adjustments to various activities while sticks to the characteristics of IFC.

Abstract

Interior design of youth talent performing arts center has a purpose to be a place to express artistic expression that is different among other places. This design was made for young talents, especially in Surabaya. This design uses the design thinking method that contains six stages. The site used in this design is the Dyandra Convention Center that is located in the middle of the city to get the ease of access. In this design, the designer uses the concept “Passion of Synchronize Expression”, where there are many expressions in an art show, but it must be synchronized to become an interesting show. The performing arts center provides spaces that can be used from the preparation of a show (training, preparation of decorations, make up and dressing room) and even for producing a show that is watched by the general audience.

Abstract

Sneakers are shoes made of rubber soles that have become a style now. Many people wear this shoes for their daily use to a variety of activities. By the time, kind of sneakers lovers community exploded in Indonesia, especially in Surabaya. These communities are found live in social network internet, there came a problem in this community that they doesn’t have a real place that specifically accommodate the activities of sneakers lovers.  The purpose of this interior design sneakers addict center is that sneakers lovers who had been living in the virtual world, now has a spesific place for their activities and make this facility as one of the icon places for sneakers lovers in Surabaya city that should be visited by the sneakers lovers from all over Indonesia, the concept Urban Authentic is connected with the history of sneakers and show up the authenticity of a brand image which is combined with industrial style. As expected that this facility could meet the needs and activities of sneakers lovers, especially in Surabaya.

Abstract

Human’s ability to perceive a space is influenced by the experience of the five senses. However, this often considered unimportant and less noticed by the restaurant management and designer. In fact, customer’s experience is a very important factor in maintaining the interest in a restaurant. The purpose of this research is to understand the importance of sensory experience and how it is implemented on the interior, especially in Shao Kao Restaurant in Surabaya. The research method used is qualitative descriptive with the basic reference of the theory according to Deplasez and Andrea in the book Constructing Architecture, also Malnar and Vodvarka in the Sensory Design book about five senses and interior elements perceived by the five senses. Based on the analysist that has been done, it can be concluded that the human senses are very important in perceiving and experiencing a space. Each customer of Shao Kao Restaurant has a different experience on restaurant’s interior. The experience that involves the five senses is obtained through the application of interior elements in Shao Kao restaurant’s interior, which are lighting, color, Chinese-themed paintings as decorative elements, smells, sounds or noise, music, and room temperature, which then generates an atmosphere experienced by each visitor.

Abstract

Nowadays the economic developmentis increasing in Surabaya. This has a positive impact on retail companies in Surabaya. In order to remain competitive shop among many other stores, they need a unique interior design, comfortable and functional that can attract customers to shop. An attractive interior design alone is not enough, however they need an interior design that canreflect the image and strategies.Rotelli is one of the famous shoesbrand from Italy and has a vision to be a trendsetter in the field of women's fashion shoes in Indonesia. This study aims to determine whether the interior design of Rotelli reflects their brand image, which has an elegant, exclusive and comfortable concept and describe the application of brand image through interior design, color and materials they used.The final result is Rotelli is one of the brand that priorities their interior design’s shop and has a strong brand image. This is applicated through the interior arrangement is comfortable and supportive shopping activities, colors and materials that reflect the brand image of Rotelli.

Abstract

Photography has been progressing and developing rapidly in recent years. It can be a business that is promising and much sought after by consumers from various backgrounds. To support this business, a facility that can accommodate photography activities especially for start-up entrepreneurs, is needed. Therefore, the designer comes up with an idea to design a photography center based on co-working space in Surabaya that can facilitate start up photography businesses as well as to accommodate meetings among photographers and between photographers and their clients. The design method used consists of 7 stages: (1) Inquiry, (2) Empathize, (3) Define, (4) Brainstorm, (5) Prototype, (6) Test, (7) Apply & Reflect. The design concept applied is Dynamic Interfusion. This concept is appointed to be the solution of the problem, which is the activity of photography that tends to be individual and leads to lack of interaction. This concept is applied in the design into an open space layout, creating the impression of motion, flexible and multi-functional rooms. Main facilities designed include store, gallery, plain and thematic photo studio, communal lounge, editing room, meeting room, and workshop area. Also equipped with supporting facilities such as lobby, cafe, makeup and dressing room, management office, pantry, storage, and toilet.

Abstract

The The tight schedule of activities and daily routines makes people easy to feel tired, bored, and stressed so that they can reduce work productivity. To treat fatigue, boredom, and stress, people often visit the body's beauty and relaxation center to get treatment so that in the future they can be more productive at work. In addition to treating fatigue, boredom and stress, the goal of the community to visit the body's beauty and relaxation center is to beautify themselves, relax the body and pamper themselves.  The purpose of this design is to be able to answer the needs of the community in Surabaya to get body beauty and relaxation facilities in one place. So that people can release fatigue, boredom and stress due to daily routines and their needs can be fulfilled effectively and efficiently. The facilities that will be provided in this design are facial care, body care, hair care, make-up, hair care, and retail areas that sell Wardah products. This design’s concept is Earth, Love, Life. That concept shows the natural impression of the earth with a relaxing feel so that visitors can release fatigue comfortably. This design also wants to help improve people's views about local beauty brands to be more attractive to the wider community.
