The full day school policy stipulated in the regulation of Educationand Culture Minister (Permendikbud) Number 23 of 2017 makesthe anxiety for the education activists who are not ready for theconsequences of this regulation. The anxiety of these educationalactivists began to disappear when Permendikbud No. 23 of2017 was abolished by a higher regulation, namely PresidentialRegulation (Perpres) No. 87 of 2017 which asserted that thefive-day school is an option rather than an obligation. In thisPresidential Decree, there is a gap for educational institutions torun the school hours in accordance with Permendikbud No. 23of 2017. It becomes interesting to be investigated in the realm ofeducational policy. This study analyzes how the emergence of apolicy in education, how to implement and evaluate the policiesthat have been applied especially Permendikbud No 23 of 2017about school hours, because there are still schools and madrasahthat use school hours in accordance with this permendikbud.

This study focuses on understanding communal conflicts in Indonesia, which are triggered by stereotyping. Indonesians have undergone communal conflicts, especially in the late 1990s. The conflicts were mainly religious and ethnic, suggesting serious tensions in stereotyping between religious and ethnic groups. In this case, the paper seeks to underline the importance of multicultural education in the school context. Education is considered having a strategic role in building positive circumstances among people. Multicultural education is expected to minimize the possibility of building negative stereotyping of one person against another, which could cause conflict. This qualitative study incorporates a literature review of multicultural education and communal conflicts in the Indonesian context.

AbstractThis paper aims to describe Malay culture-based character education model in Muslim-Malay families in Pontianak. This qualitative research in the form of case study was conducted in 2019. The data was obtained through interview and direct observation. The qualitative analysis model followed the procedure suggested by Mathew B. Miles, et al. The results of this study indicate that the Muslim-Malay urban families in Pontianak have used Malay culture-based on character education model. This model is implemented through the values of virtue and exemplary from the Malay culture. This model is given through the intervention and habituation of characters from their Malay culture. The character building of urban Malay-Muslim family in Pontianak had a number of challenges as the consequence of time change. Elementary school children familiarity with communication, media and digital technology have positive and negative impact, depending on their ability to sort out the information they read or download. It is same with the use of social media, such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube and other social media. In this context, parents need to guide their children.

This article tries to explain about the importance of tolerance, respecting the diversities among the society by multicultural education. The diversity of national culture will be lost by the time goes by if it is not supported by Indonesian human resource ability in maintaining and conserving the existing culture. Multicultural education is kawah candradimuka in maintaining the plural cultures to avoid the conflict leading to dispute and split of united Nation of Indonesian Republic (NKRI).

Mindset is formed from the pattern of interaction among the individualswhose habit and daily behavior,then it is always repeatedso it becomes a character. The leverage level of generation Z mindset is still very vulnerable because they are influenced by environment and technological developments. They are literate and always interact with technology in life activities. The environmental urge and patterns of interaction within a community in various researches play the most vital role in human behavior change. This theory is used as the foundation of the writer to conduct research in the area of Mount Kemukus which has become a place of ritual "lokalisasi" that impersonate religion for many years.This condition gets big attention from local governments and world. However, the stigma began to erode through government policy toclose those places and save Mount Kemukus from immoral practices. This research will focus on examining how the local government's education policy reconstructs the generation Z mindset without excluding the ancestral culture (local wisdom) as the regional distinction compared to other regions. The government policy in reconstructing the millennial mindset can be seen from policies in social, educational, economic and religious dimensions.

ISLAMIC EDUCATION IN FAMILY IN THE PERSPECTIVE OF DEMOCRACY (Study Thought and Abdurrahman Hasan Langgulung an Nahlawi), The family as a pillar of society has an important position in building civilization. In Islam, family educational responsibilities given to parents as control over the development of the child's personality, which has the function of education to foster children. Given the current social problems that occur in the community originate from the interaction of the family. If a good family, the community would be good as well and vice versa. Islamic education in the family then become the focus for assessment as a fundamental means of educating children. Study thinking and Abdurrahman Hasan Langgulung an Nahlawi on Islamic education in the family do to get the formulation of Islamic education to address the challenges of the future. Study these two men thought sharpened with the perspective of democracy to be more focus on getting the formulation of Islamic education in the family. This study is a literature study (library research) or the study of literature (literature research). Data collection techniques with documentation data analysis using descriptive analysis (descriptive analysis), a content analysis (content analysis) and a comparative analysis (comparative analysis). The approach used is hermeunetik, philosophical and democracy. Keywords: Islamic Education, Family and Perspectives of Democracy.

This paper discusses how the active role of MTs Miftahul Ulum in maintaining the local culture through structural students’ management. Students’ management is one of important aspects in educational institutions. It is because base on this, institution can map and plan the future activities in an educational institution. Basically, the students’ management discusses the planning of student, students’ organization and students’ coaching so the students’ learning process in educational institutions can be success. Management pattern used in this Madrasa always considers local culture by keeping the culture and customs that exist in the community through its superior programs.

Watak Pendidikan Islam yang dinamis menjadi satu alasan bahwa pemikiran terhadapnya senantiasa memerlukan terobosan baru. Banyak di antara para pemikir Pendidikan Islam yang berijtihad dalam merumuskan pendidikan yang ideal, termasuk dalam menentukan sistem, kurikulum, metode, pendekatan dan lain sebagainya. Salah satu aliran pendidikan Islam menurut Muhammad Jawwad Ridla adalah Aliran Religius-Konservatif (al diny al muhafidz), dengan tokohnya al-Ghazali. Konsep dasar dalam pendidikan Islam adalah upaya transformasi nilai-nilai yang sesuai dengan ajaran Islam, yakni berdasar pada Al-Qur’an dan As-Sunah termasuk ijtihad dalam pelaksanaanya. Secara umum sistem pendidikan Islam mempunyai karakter religious, maka pendidikan yang benar menurut al-Ghazali adalah pendidikan dijadikan sebagai sarana dalam mendekatkan diri kepada Allah SWT dan pendidikan yang mampu mengantarkan pada kebahagiaan di dunia dan akhirat. Maka kemudian, epistimologi pemikiran pendidikan al-Ghazali adalah berorientasi pada sumber ilmu dan bagaimana cara mendapatkannya, sekaligus penentuan kesesuaian kurikulum dan metode pendidikannya terhadap peserta didik dan perkembangan jaman.

Nowadays, the role of libraries is not only as a place to collect the rare references that can not be found in some bookstores, but rather serves as a vehicle for development and exploration potential of the human being, through the collection of reference in line with the development of contemporary, these ideals were impossible to realize if the enthusiasm of visitors to the library was minimal. The provision of library services is a major task of librarians in providing the sources of reference which can be utilized the users maximally. The adopted strategy is not enough just to complete the various collections of books or a variety of facilities and infrastructure to support the sustainability of the library. The important thing that must be concerned is creativity and the role of librarians in attracting public interest to continue to love reading. It is needed through the strategy and optimize the performance of the librarian. Thus the performance of librarians in managing and serving the visitors of the library must be improved from various aspects.
