Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the learning outcomes of the second-grade students in one of elementary school in lembang using songs and games as a media. This research used classroom action research (CAR). The characteristics of the action are described as repetitive actions to improve the teaching and learning process in the classroom research. Learning English aims to learn oral and written communication, the most important elements of language are vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, and communication. Therefore, an educator must always remember the importance of creating a comfortable atmosphere, as well as arousing interest and motivation in learning English so that when students learn English from the start they learn in a pleasant atmosphere. Likewise, with the results obtained in this study using song and game media, researchers saw that several changes occurred in the behavior and the ability of students to become enthusiastic to be active in the learning outcomes increased in cycle 1 researching an average value of 65,83 in the medium category and the average value in the second cycle increased to 93,5 in the high category. Keywords:  Song and Game, CAR, Vocabulary

Abstract

This research was a pilot study which intended to develop Task based learning materials model for the Translation course. The study employed Research and Development. The research procedure of this study was adapted from Borg and Gall (1983). There are only three out of ten steps were employed: research and information collecting, planning, and developing preliminary form of product. The respondents of this research were two lecturers and third-semester students of the English education study program in a university in Cimahi. The data was taken from questionnaire and interviews. The research findings show that (1) from the analysis result, most of respondents wanted the learning materials that suits their need and interest. Thus, the pilot product covered eight topics such as translation process, a good translation, translation method, idiomatic translation, figurative language, simile and metaphor, direct technique and indirect technique; (2) the design used task-based learning model and was made based on three sessions namely pre-task, task cycle and language focus; (3) The translation material in pre activity consists of brainstorming and introducing the topics. While, translation materials in task cycle involves translating various sources such as newspaper, novel, poem, song lyric, film review and abstract. The last, teaching materials in language focus deal with grammar session. Since this research is pilot study, thus, the results need to be validated by expert judgement. Furthermore, it is recommended to apply the product in the real class.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to see how students react to creating greeting cards with Canva through project-based learning. Canva allows pupils to expand their creativity and ideas for expressing things in writing. The sample for this study was eighth-grade junior high school students in Padalarang, and the research technique was descriptive qualitative. The research tools were obtained using a ten-questions of the questionnaire. The researcher found that students' responses to producing greeting cards using Canva through project-based learning were favourable based on the results of the data analysis. This response demonstrates that canva can be used effectively in writing. Based on the data, 70% of respondents properly characterize text using Canva as part of project-based learning. Using Canva, 60% of pupils can improve their creativity in explaining things. However, 50% of students have yet to understand Canva's capabilities, making it difficult to create greeting cards quickly. Furthermore, in this pandemic circumstance, employing online learning may be diverse media in the teaching and learning process. Canva may be used as a substitute for writing greeting cards. Using Canva, students find it enjoyable and straightforward to create greeting cards.

Abstract

Khusus di era digital revolusi industry 4.0 ini, penggunaan internet dan aplikasi sangat diwajibkan dan harus dikuasai oleh semua kalangan khususnya para guru yang memang dituntut untuk selalu membuat terobosan dan perubahan demi menjadikan bangsa Indonesia yang literat dan mampu bersaing di dunia internasional. Hal seiringan dengan tujuan dilaksanaakannya pelatihan ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan kompetensi para guru yang ada di salah satu sekolah menengah keatas yanga ada di kabupaten Bandung Barat. Pelatihan ini dilaksanakan dengan memberikan pemahaman aplikasi kepada para guru supaya menjadi guru yang innovative dan kreatif dalam proses pembelajaran di sekolah. Aplikasi ini bernama Zoom Meeting. Keunggulan dari aplikasi ini yaitu pengguna bisa melakukan bebrapa hal seperti melakukan video conference, share screen, absensi, dll. Sehingga ini sangat memudahkan pengguna dalam melakukan aktifitas pengajarannya. Ada lima tahapan yang dilakukan dalam penerapan pelaitahan ini. Diantaranya,  analisis, penentuan materi pelatihan, pembuatan modul pelatihan, pelaksanaan pelatihan, dan evaluasi hasil pelatihan. Dan hasil dari pelatihan ini menunjukan perubahan yang baik dan signifikan dari para guru sehingga mereka lebih percaya diri dalam memberikan pembelajaran kepada siswa dengan menggunakan aplikasi baru yaitu Zoom Meeting.Kata Kunci : Pelatihan Pembelajaran, Zoom Meeting, Sekolah Menengah Pertama
