Abstract

The cultivation of shallots in peat is constrained by the low level of soil fertility and one of methods to increase the nutrient content is by applying trichocompost. Trichokompos is material from plant residues that are composted and mixed with Trichoderma sp. as decomposers. Trichocompost improves soil fertility (soil biology, physics, and chemistry). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of trichocompost doses on various peat compositions on the yield of shallots. Research was conducted at the Experimental farm of Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of , Pekanbaru during 4 months, starting form June to September 2018. The design used was completely randomized factorial with 2 factors, namely Trichocompost Dose, levels 0, 4, 8, 12 g Trichoderma/kg compost and peat composition level: 100, 75, 50, 25%. Parameters tested: plant height, age of tuber formation, number of leaves, number of tubers, and tuber weight. The data were statistically analyzed and the BNJ follow-up test at 5% level. The results showed that the dose of trichocompost combined on peat had a significant effect on all observation parameters and the best treatment was 8-12 g trichoderma/kg compost at 75% peat composition.

Abstract

Tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.) is one of the vegetables that have high economic value. However, tomato production in Riau is constrained by low fertility and acidity. Egg shell waste can be used as a substitute for lime to increase soil pH. NPK fertilizer is used to provide nutrients for plants. This study aims to determine the effect of chicken eggshell powder and NPK 16:16:16 fertilizer on the growth and yield of tomato plants. This research was conducted in the experimental farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru. The study was conducted from March to July 2019. The study was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 16 treatments and repeated 3 times. The first factor was chicken eggshell powder with 4 levels (0, 15, 30, 45 g/plant) and the second factor was NPK fertilizer 16:16:16 with 4 levels (0, 10, 20, 30 g/plant). The results showed that the interactions occurred in the number of fruits per plant, fruit weight per plant on reatments for 45 g of chicken eggshell powder/plant and NPK 16:16:16 30 g / plant.

Abstract

Application of synthetic chemical insectices is known to be the most effective approach in addressing infestation of insect pests. However, conventional insecticides are not appropriate to be applied against pests of stored food materials, such as peanut due to the residue issue. Method of fumigation which negate the residue issue is also not feasible for public practice due to the hazard potency. This consideration necessitates the exploration of safe insecticide material such as neem leaf and piper leaf using suitable method. Paper presented here is a literature review design to analyze related to the important pest of stored peanut, content and effication of neem and piper leaves, and the efficiency of muslin-cloth pad containing the botanicals. Based on the neem characteristics which is anteefedant and the characteristics of piper leaf which is volatile. It can be concluded that botanicals from these two species prepared in muslin-cloth pad, would be able to control pest of stored peanut.

Abstract

Asystasia gangetica is considered one of the invasive weeds and is often found in residential areas and is one of the most important weeds to plant. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the interaction between extract concentration and leaf condition of Terminalia catappa L. extracted from Asystasia gangetica. The study was conducted using a completely randomized design using two factors. The first factor was the condition of the extracted leaves, which were fresh, newly fallen and dried leaves. The second factor was the extract concentrations, which were 50, 75 and 100%. The parameters were the time of germination, the height of the plant, the number of leaves, the length of the root and the weight of the grass. The results of the experiment showed that there was an interaction between the extract concentration and the state of the extracted Terminalia catappa Leaf with all the observed parameters. In general, growth retardation increased with increasing extract concentration. Fungicidal potency was shown by the extract obtained from fresh leaves, followed by the extract from newly fallen leaves and the least from dried leaves.

Abstract

In the Tomato cultivation in the lowlands, environmental factors such as temperature and humidity are things that need to be considered in order to increase the growth and production of tomatoes. Therefore, it is necessary to modify the environmental conditions with applying mulch, such as plastic mulch or organic mulch. In addition, increased production can be done by fertilizing potassium nitrate (KNO3) which is more practical to use because it has two nutrient contents, namely potassium and nitrogen. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the interaction between mulch and potassium nitrate (KNO3) on the growth and production of tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.). This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with two factorials. The first factor was the type of mulch which consists of 4 levels of treatment, which are without mulch, black silver plastic mulch, rice straw mulch, reed mulch. The second factor was the concentration of potassium nitrate (KNO3) which consists of 4 levels of treatment, namely 0, 3, 6, 9 g / l. Each treatment was repeated 3 times, in order to obtain 48 experimental units. The results showed that the interaction effect of the type of mulch and potassium nitrate (KNO3) was significant on the parameters of plant height, harvest age, number of fruits per plant, fruit weight per plant, fruit weight per fruit, and number of residual fruits. The best treatment combination was the use of rice straw mulch and a concentration of 9 g/l KNO3 fertilizer.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh interaksi aplikasi berbagai insektisida dan POC D.I Grow terhadap peningkatan pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman cabai keriting (Capsicum annum L.). Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) secara faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 faktor dengan 3 ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah insektisida terdiri dari 4 taraf: tanpa pestisida, Agrimec (0,25%), Curacron 500 EC (0,50%), Pegasus 500 EC (1,00%). Sedangkan faktor kedua adalah POC D.I Grow terdiri dari 4 taraf: 0 ml, 2,5 ml, 5 ml, 7,5 ml POC per liter air. Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, jumlah cabang sekunder, umur berbunga, umur panen, berat buah per tanaman, jumlah buah per tanaman dan jumlah buah sisa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi berbagai insektisida dan POC D.I Grow tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap tanaman yang diamati. Pengaruh utama berbagai insektisida nyata terhadap parameter jumlah buah sisa. Perlakuan terbaik terdapat pada pestisida pegasus. Pengaruh utama pupuk organik cair D.I Grow nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, umur berbunga, umur panen dan jumlah buah sisa. Perlakuan terbaik POC D.I Grow 7,5 ml/l air.

Abstract

Mint merupakan salah satu tanaman penghasil minyak atsiri yang banyak manfaatnya sehingga perlu dibudidayakan. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan di Green House UIRA Farm Agro Universitas Islam Riau di Teropong, Kubang Jaya Kabupaten Kampar. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama 3 bulan, mulai dari bulan Oktober sampai dengan bulan Desember 2020. Tujuan Penelitian ialah untuk mengetahui pengaruh interaksi media tanam dan berbagai durasi aliran nutrisi terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi daun mint secara hidroponik NFT. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Petak Terbagi (RPT) dalam Rancangan Acak Lengkap terdiri dari dua faktor. Faktor pertama adalah berbagai durasi aliran nutrisi sebagai petak utama dan faktor kedua adalah pengaruh Media Tanam sebagai anak petak. Pengaruh berbagai durasi aliran nutrisi terdiri dari 4 taraf perlakuan yaitu: 9, 14, 19 dan 24 jam. Perlakuan pengaruh media tanam terdiri 4 taraf perlakuan yaitu: media tanam arang kayu, cocopeat, hidroton dan rockwoll, sehingga terdapat 16 kombinasi perlakuan dengan 3 kali ulangan. Dengan demikian penelitian ini terdiri dari 48 satuan percobaan dengan total tanaman 144. Setiap satuan percobaan terdiri dari 3 tanaman dan 2 tanaman dijadikan sebagai sampel. Parameter pengamatan yaitu: jumlah pucuk ekonomis, berat basah pucuk ekonomis, berat basah tanaman, berat kering tanaman dan nisbah tajuk akar. Data dianalisis dengan sidik ragam, apabila F hitung yang diperoleh lebih besar dari F tabel, maka dilanjutkan dengan melakukan uji lanjut Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ) pada taraf 5%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan disimpulkan bahwa interaksi perlakuan waktu pengairan dan jenis media tanam berpengaruh nyata terhadap semua parameter pengamatan. Penggunaan rockwool sebagai media tanaman dapat mengkompensasi penggunaan air nutrisi sehingga aliran nutrisi dapat dikurangi hingga 14 jam.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui Pengaruh pupuk kotoran walet dan pupuk KCl terhadap pertumbuhan serta produksi tanaman bawang merah (Allium ascalonicum L.). Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan di kebun percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Islam Riau. Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution No. 113, Kelurahan Air Dingin, Kecamatan Bukit Raya, Kota Pekanbaru. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama 4 bulan mulai bulan Desember 2020 sampai bulan Maret 2021. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 faktor. Faktor pertama adalah dosis pupuk kotoran walet 0, 0,5, 1 dan 1,5 kg/plot sedangkan faktor kedua adalah dosis pupuk KCl 0, 10, 20 dan 30 g/plot. Parameter yang diamati yaitu tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun per rumpun, umur panen, jumlah umbi per rumpun, berat basah umbi per rumpun, berat kering umbi per rumpun dan susut bobot umbi. Data pengamatan dianalisis secara statistik dan dilanjutkan dengan uji lanjut BNJ pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi pupuk kotoran walet dan pupuk KCl memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap semua parameter yang diamati. Perlakuan terbaik adalah dosis pupuk kotoran walet 1,5 kg/plot dan pupuk KCl 30 g/plot.
