Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada peningkatan di dalam kemampuan menulis siswa dan aspek menulis manakah yang meningkat setelah implementasi teknik clustering. Penelitian ini mengadopsi pendekatan kuantitatif di mana menggunakan one group pretest-posttest. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas sebelas di SMA Negeri 9 Bandar Lampung dan XI IPA 7 yang terdiri dari 24 siswa. Tes menulis diberikan untuk mencari data. Data dianalisis menggunakan T-Test dengan nilai signifikansi p0.05. Penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa T-Value (11.524) lebih besar dari T-Table (2.069). Hasil menunjukan bahwa ada peningkatan menulis siswa setelah implementasi teknik clustering. Aspek yang paling meningkat adalah konten dengan jumlah peningkatan 3.71 dan persentase 12.37%. Berdasarkan hasil di atas, hal ini bisa disimpulkan bahwa teknik clustering dapat diimplementasikan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis hortatory exposition text. The objectives of this research were to find out whether there was improvement on students’ writing ability and which aspect of writing improved the most after the implementation of clustering technique. This study adopted a quantitative approach which used pretest and postest. The population of this research was the second-grade students of SMA Negeri 9 Bandar Lampung and XI IPA 7 which consisted of 24 students. Writing tests were applied to collect the data. The data were analysed by using repeated measure T-test with the significance p0.05. The result of this research showed that t-value (11.524) was higher than t-table (2.069). It meant that there was improvement in students’ writing ability after the implementation of the technique. The aspect which improved the most was content aspect since the gain of the aspect improved to 3.71 with the percentage of 12.37%. In short, it can be concluded that clustering technique can be implemented in improving students’ hortatory exposition text writing ability. Berbicara adalah salah satu kemampuan bahasa yang siswa-siswi SMA harus kuasai. Meskipun, siswa-siswi SMA masih mempunyai kemampuan yang rendah dalam berbicara Bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan yang signifikan secara statistik pada kemampuan berbicara siswa setelah penerapan teknikdictogloss. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 30 siswa tingkat kedua SMA Al-Kautsar Bandar Lampung. Pre-tes dan pos-tes berbicara telah dilakukan untuk mengumpulkan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa adanya perbedaan yang signifikan secara statistik dalam kemampuan berbicara siswa setelah penerapan teknikdictoglossdangan tingkat signifikan 0.05. Ini menunjukan bahwa teknikdictoglossdapat membantu siswa menigkatkan kemampuan berbicara mereka.Speaking is one of language skills SMA students need to master. However, SMA students still have low capability of speaking in English. This study, therefore, was aimed at finding out whether there was a statically significant difference of students speaking achievement after the implementation of dictogloss technique. This research was a quantitative research. The subjects of this research were 30 students of the second year of SMA Al-Kautsar Bandar Lampung. Speaking tests in forms of pre-test and post-test were done to collect the data. The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference of the students speaking achievement after the implementation of dictogloss technique with the significant level of 0.05. This indicates that dictogloss technique helps students improve their speaking achievement.Keywords: implementation, speaking, dictogloss technique.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti apakah ada peningkatan pada kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks recount setelah belajar melalui jumbled sentences. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 25 siswa kelas satu di SMA Kartikatama Metro. Tes menulis digunakan sebagai alat untuk pengambilan data. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan t-test dengan tingkat signifikan level p0.05 menggunakan SPSS versi 17.0. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan secara statistik pada pencapaian kosakata siswa. Dapat disarankan bahwa pengajaran menulis menggunakan jumbled sentences dapat membuat siswa terlibat kreatif dalam pembelajaran dan dapat membantu mengembangkan ide dengan mudah.The aim of this study was to find out whether there was a statistically significant increase of students writing ability in recount text writing after they were taught through jumbled sentences. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menetahui apakah ada peningkatan pada kemampuan kosa kata siswa dengan mengunakan metode Silent Way. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa VII A di SMP N 3 Way Penubuan. Test kosa kata digunakan sebagai alat untuk pengambilan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa adanya penigkatan kemampuan kosa kata siswa denan menggunakan metode Silent Way. Dengan ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode Silent Way dapat membantu siswa dalam menguasai kosa kata dengan lebih mudah.This study was aimed at finding out whether there was an improvement in students’ vocabulary achievement by using Silent Way method. This research was quantitative. The subject of this research was class VII A of SMP N 3 Way Pengubuan. A vocabulary test was administered as the instrument of this research. The result showed that there was an improvement in students’ vocabulary achievement by using Silent Way method. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan adanya peningkatan pemahaman membaca siswa melalui teks naratif setelah diajari dengan menggunakan teknik Jigsaw. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan di SMPN 23 Bandar Lampung. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah murid kelas 2 SMP. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pre-test dan post-test satu kelompok. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan satu kelas sebagai sampel.Penelitian ini menggunakan teks naratif dalam tes membaca untuk mengumpulkan data. Berdasarkan analisis data, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan yang signifikan dalam pemahaman membaca siswa setelah mereka diajari dengan menggunakan teknik jigsaw. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan dari pemahaman membaca siswa setelah diterapan teknik jigsaw dengan tingkat signifikasi (0,000,05). Oleh karena itu, penerapan teknik jigsaw dalam mengajar pemahaman membaca dapat membantu siswa untuk memahami materi teks naratif dalam membaca.This research was aimed at investigating whether there was a statistically significant improvement of students’ reading comprehension achievement in a narrative text after the implementation of the jigsaw technique. It was conducted at SMPN 23 Bandar Lampung. The subjects of this study were the second grade students. This study adopted a one group pre-test and post-test design. The data were collected by using narrative reading tests. The results showed that there was a statistically significant improvement of the students’ reading comprehension achievement after the implementation of the jigsaw technique with the significant level (0.000.05). This suggests that jigsaw technique in teaching reading comprehension helps the students comprehend a narrative text.Keywords: reading comprehension, a narrative text, jigsaw technique.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah (i) peningkatan pemahaman membaca siswa melalui penerapan strategi PQRST dan (ii) aspek apa yang paling meningkat setelah penerapan strategi tersebut. Subyek penelitian ini adalah 31 siswa di kelas X IPA 4 tahun akademik 2018/2019. Desain penelitian adalah one group pretestand posttest. Data dalam bentuk skor diambil dari pretest dan posttest, kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan Paired Sample t-test. Hasil penerapan strategi P-Q-RS-T dalam pengajaran teks recount menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan yang signifikan pada prestasi membaca pemahaman siswa (p 0,05, p = 0,00). Selain itu, kosakata adalah aspek membaca yang paling meningkat. Secara singkat, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan strategi P-Q-R-S-T memungkinkan siswa untukmeningkatkan prestasi membaca mereka.The research was aimed at knowing whether there was (i) students’ improvement on reading comprehension achievement after they were taught through PQRST strategy and (ii) which aspect of reading that improved the most after the implementation of the strategy. The subjects of this research were 31 students in class X science 4 in the academic year 2018/2019. The research design was one group class pretest and posttest. The data in the form of scores were taken from a pretest and a posttest using reading test, and then they were analyzed by using Paired Sample t-test. The result of the implementation of P-Q-R-S-T strategy in teaching recount text shows that there was a significant improvement on the students’ reading comprehension achievement (p0.05, p=0.00). In addition, vocabulary is the aspect of reading that improved the most. In brief, it can be concluded that the implementation of P-Q-R-S-T strategy enabled students to improve their reading achievement.Keywords: reading, reading comprehension, P-Q-R-S-T strategy, improvement

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan pada kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks recount setelah penerapan teknik guiding question. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 35 siswa tingkat pertama SMAN 13 Bandar Lampung. Test menulis digunakan sebagai alat untuk pengambilan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa adanya perbedaan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis reks recount setelah penerapan teknik guiding question dan aspek organization adalah aspek menulis yang paling meningkat. Dapat disarankan bahwa teknik guiding question dapat membantu siswa menghasilkan ide dengan lebih mudah.This study was aimed at finding out whether there was a difference of students recount text writing ability after the implementation of guiding question technique. This research was a quantitative research. The subjects of this research were 35 students at the first year of SMAN 13 Bandar Lampung. A writing test was administered as the instrument of this research. The result showed that there was a statistically difference of the students recount text writing ability after the implementation of guiding question technique and the organization aspect of writing was the aspect that improved the most. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Data diambil melalui tes reading dalam bentuk tes pilihan ganda. Sasaran penelitian sebanyak 32 siswa pada kelas delapan di SMP Negeri 5 Bandar Lampung. Data dianalisis menggunakan Paired Sample T-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan kemampuan membaca siswa dengan tingkat signifikansi 0.05. Oleh karena itu, dapat disarankan bahwa pengajaran membaca menggunakan teknik think-pair-share dapat membantu siswa dalam mengingkatkan pencapaian pemahaman mereka dalam membaca.The aim of this study was to find out whether there was a statistically significant difference of the students reading comprehension achievement before and after the students were taught through think-pair-share technique. This research was quantitative research. The data were collected through reading tests taking the form of multiple choice test. The subjects of this research were 32 students of the eighth grade at SMP Negeri 5 Bandar Lampung. The data were analyzed by using Paired Sample T-test. The result showed that there was a statistically significant difference of the students reading comprehension achievement with the significant level of 0.05. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana keterlibatan dari keaktifan siswa pada kemampuan berbicara melalui teknik role play dan apakah ada efek yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan berbicara siswa setelah diajarkan menggunakan teknik role play. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif dan dilaksanakan di kelas X1 SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Bandar Lampung yang berjumlah 30 siswa. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan observasi dan tes berbicara. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan one group pretest and posttest design dengan menggunakan SPSS versi 16.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa mayoritas siswa aktif dalam belajar berbicara dengan menggunakan tenik role play dan adanya peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam berbicara setelah diajarkan menggunakan teknik role play. Terdapat sebuah statistik mengenai efek dari teknik role play yang signifikan terhadap pencapaian berbicara siswa dengan level 9.4. Hal tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa role play adalah cara efektif untuk meningkatkan berbicara siswa.The aims of this research were to investigate (i) the students active involvement in speaking through role play technique and (ii) whether there was a statistically significant effect of the students speaking achievement after they were taught using the role play technique. It was a qualitative and quantitative research. The subject were 30 students of SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Bandarlampung. The datas of this research were collected through observation and speaking tests. The datas were analyzed by using one group pretest posttest design through SPSS version 16.0. The result of the observation showed that the majority of the students were actively involved in the teaching learning through role play technique. There was also a significant effect of role play on the students speaking achievement with significant level 9.4.
