Abstract

The Effectiveness of Problem Based Learning Model Toward Student’s Mathematical Communication Skill. This quasi-experimental research aimed to find out the effectiveness of problem based learning (PBL) model toward student’s mathematical communication skill. The population of this research was all students of grade 7th Junior High School state of Natar in academic year 2018/2019 as many as 353 students that distributed into eleven classes. Through purposive random sampling technique, students of class of VII B as many as 32 students and class of VII C as many as 32 students were chosen as the research sample. This research used pretest-posttest group design. The research data were obtained by the essay test of student’s mathematical communication skill. The result of t -test and proportion test with  was known that the data of student’s mathematical communication skill through problem based learning model was higher than the data of student’s mathematical communication skill through non-PBL model and proportion of student through problem based learning model with standard of minimum of completeness 70 more than 60%. So that, problem based learning model was effective towards student’s mathematical communication skill. Keywords: mathematical communication skill, problem based learning

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the effect of cooperative learning model of think pair share type in terms of student’s mathematical conceptual understanding. The population of this research was all students of grade VII of SMPN 2 Palas in the even semester academic year of 2018/2019 that were distributed into 5 classes that were VIIA to VIIE class, then by using cluster random sampling technique it was chosen VIIE as an experiment class and VIID as an control class.  This research used the randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The data of this research obtained through essay test of the comparison material. Based on the results of this research, students’ mathematical conceptual understanding who take of TPS learning were higher than students’ mathematical conceptual understanding of non-TPS learning. Therefore,  the implementation of TPS learning was effects in term of students’ mathematical conceptual understanding.

Abstract

Abstract: The Influence of Guided Inquiry Learning Towards Student’s Mathematical Communication Skills Junior High School. This quasi-experimental research aimed to find out the influence of guided inquiry learning model towards student’s mathematical communication skill. The population of this research was all of eight grade students of SMPN 9 Bandarlampung in the academic year of 2018/2019 as many as 180 students that were distributed into 6 classes. The samples of this research were students of VIIIA as many as 29 students and VIIIC as many as 29 students class that were chosen by purposive sampling technique. The design of this research was the pretest-postest control group design. The analysis data used was Mann-Whitney ???? test. The data in this research was quantitative data obtained by a student’s mathematical communication scale. The Analysis data by using Mann Whitney ???? test is obtained that guided inquiry learning model influenced student’s mathematical communication skill.

Abstract

This quasi-experimental research aimed to find out the influence of Inquiry Learning towards improvement of students’ critical thinking skills and self confidence. The population in this research was all students of eighth grade of SMP Islam Terpadu Bustanul Ulum Terbanggi Besar on academic year 2017/2018. The samples of this research were students of class VIII C and VIII D selected by using purposive random sampling technique. This research used pretest-posttest control group design. The research data were obtained by the essay test of critical thinking skills and questionnaire non-test of self confidence. Analysis data of this research used t’ -test and non-parametric test, Mann Whitney U test. The results of this research concluded that inquiry based learning influence the improvement of students’ critical thinking skills and self confidence.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran inkuiri terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan self confidence siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Islam Terpadu Bustanul Ulum Terbanggi Besar semester genap tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. Sampel penelitian ini adalah Siswa kelas VIII C dan VIII D yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive random sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan pretest-posttest control group design. Data penelitian diperoleh dari tes kemampuan berpikir kritis berbentuk essay dan non-tes self confidence berbentuk angket. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan uji-t’ dan uji non parametrik yaitu uji Mann Whitney U. Dari hasil penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran inkuiri berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan self confidence siswa.Kata kunci: inkuiri, kemampuan berpikir kritis, self confidence

Abstract

Abstrak: Efektivitas Model Problem Based Learning Ditinjau dari Kemampuan Representasi Matematis siswa. Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas model problem based learning ditinjau dari kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 22 Bandarlampung semester genap tahun pelajaran 2018/2019 sebanyak 294 siswa yang terdistribusi dalam sebelas kelas yaitu kelas VII A sampai dengan kelas VII K. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII I sebanyak 27 siswa dan VII J sebanyak 25 siswa yang dipilih dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah the randomized pretest-posttest control group design. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan representasi matematis yang berbentuk uraian pada materi aritmatika sosial. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney U dan uji tanda binomial. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data penelitian, kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang mengikuti problem based learning lebih tinggi daripada kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional, tetapi proporsi siswa yang memiliki kemampuan representasi matematis dengan kategori baik pada kelas yang menggunakan problem based learning tidak lebih dari 60% dari jumlah siswa. Kata kunci: efektivitas, problem based learning, representasi matematis

Abstract

Abstrak: Efektivitas Model Problem Based Learning Ditinjau dari Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis Siswa. Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas model problem based learning ditinjau dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 8 Bandarlampung semester genap tahun pelajaran 2018/2019 sebanyak 280 yang terdistribusi dalam sembilan kelas.  Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII E sebanyak 29 siswa dan VII I sebanyak 27 siswa yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah pretest-posttest control group design. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes uraian kemampuan komunikasi matematis pada materi arikmatika sosial. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis yang menggunakan uji- dan uji proporsi diperoleh bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa model problem based learning lebih tinggi daripada pembelajaran konvensional, namun proporsi siswa yang memiliki kemampuan komunikasi matematis tidak lebih dari 60% jumlah siswa yang mengikuti model problem based learning.
