Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengembangkan buku ajar berbasis model Search, Solve, Create dan Share (SSCS) pada materi perubahan lingkungan, (2) mengetahui kelayakan buku ajar, dan (3) mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan buku ajar untuk memberdayakan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model pengembangan ADDIE yakni analysis, design, development, implementation dan evaluation. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket validasi ahli, angket respon peserta didik dan soal pretest-posttest, yang dianalisis secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data kemampuan berpikir kritis dianalisis dengan sampel paired t-test dan dihitung dengan N-gain ternormalisasi. Hasil pengembangan buku ajar menunjukkan rata-rata hasil validasi ahli sebesar 93% dan berada pada kategori sangat layak digunakan untuk bahan ajar peserta didik. Hasil angket mengenai respon penilaian dari peserta didik sebesar 82,2% peserta didik memberikan respon positif terhadap bahan ajar yang dikembangkan. Didapatkan hasil nilai postest sebesar 78,9 (kelas eksperimen) dan 68,6 (kelas kontrol). Diketahui bahwa dari uji t (kesamaan dua rata-rata) diperoleh thit(5,26) > ttab (2,02), yang berarti rata-rata N-gain peserta didik pada kelas eksperimen memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan dengan rata-rata N-gain peserta didik pada kelas kontrol. Dengan demikian terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari penggunaan buku ajar berbasis SSCS terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. The aims of this research were 1) to develop a textbook-based SSCS model on environmental change material, 2) to test the feasibility of a textbook-based SSCS model, and 3) to test the effectiveness of a textbook-based SSCS model to improve the critical thinking skill of students at class XI of State Senior High School (SMAN) 2 of Metro. The development model used in this research was ADDIE model consisted of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The data were collected by using the validated questionnaire and the pretest-posttest test and were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The data of the critical thinking skill were analyzed by sample paired t-test and calculated by normalized N-gain. The result of the development of a textbook showed the average results of the expert validation was 93% (very feasible for use as students teaching material). The result of respond of the students was 82.2%, it meant that the students gave the positive responses to the developed textbook. The scores of posttest were 78.9 (experimental class) and 68.6 (control class). The result of paired t-test was tcalculated (5.26) > ttab (2.02), it showed that mean of students' N-gain in experiment class had the significant difference to the control class. Therefore, there was significant effect of the use of a textbook-based SSCS model to improve the the critical thinking skill of students.

Abstract

This study was aim to know the implementation of outdoor learning at high school level in terms of type of school. This research was a survey research with qualitative descriptive approach. The research was conducted in three types of high schools, namely public schools, adiwiyata schools and integrated Islamic schools based on boarding school. Type of School includes; SMA A as public school, SMA B as adiwiyata school and SMA C as an integrated Islamic school based on boarding school. The sample was obtained by purposive sampling technique consisting of X class biology teacher, class XI and class XII in each school. The research instrument uses an observation note sheet and an interview guide. Analysis of observation and interview data using descriptive qualitative analysis. Documentation data is analyzed using learning tools such as Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) and Student Worksheet (LKS) used by teachers. The results of this study are as follows: (1) The three types of SMA have been implementing outdoor learning (2) Each type of school has the potential to be the object of outdoor learning (3) There are obstacles in the allocation of time in SMA A, the lack of inventory of biology outdoor learning tools in SMA B and no obstacles in SMA C to date (4) SMA B is the most potential school in implementing learning of biology based on outdoor learning.Keywords: Outdoor learning, High schooll, Type of school

Abstract

Unengaging learning activities have encouraged lecturers to create a more fun learning experience. The learning that students like can be identified by looking at the level of student activity and their motivation in participating therein. One learning model that emphasizes the ability to think independently is the inquiry learning model. This research was conducted to determine the use of the inquiry learning model in plant physiology practicum activities. This research is a type of CAR (Classroom Action Research) that applies an inquiry learning model in Plant Physiology practicum activities for third semester students of Biology Tadris IAIN Metro. This research was conducted in three cycles with the stages of problem identification, action/observation, and reflection. The data obtained is then analyzed descriptively qualitatively in each cycle before carrying out the next cycle stage. The value of the practicum report is taken after the practicum activity is carried out, the assessment of student activity is seen from attendance which is carried out routinely during practicum meetings, and independent tasks carried out by students, namely by making a summary of the material based on the topic of the practicum to be carried out. The use of inquiry learning models in practicum activities can increase the value of practicum reports, student activity, and independent assignments carried out by students in each cycle. This means that the use of the inquiry learning model is one of the effective choices for plant physiology practicum activities.

Abstract

This study aims to develop integrated science learning videos with environmental characteristics. The theme of the learning video is elephant conservation in Way Kambas National Park. The development of this learning video is expected to increase student learning motivation and in its implementation it will develop a caring character for the environment in students. This research uses the Research and Development method which includes survey methods in the process of developing learning videos. The results showed that the material expert validation was twice with the results a score of 91%, including in the very valid category. The validation of media experts was a score was 92% which was included in the very valid category. The results of the small group trial for 10 students obtained a score of 91% including in the very good category, the results of the large group trial for 30 students obtained a score of 93% including in the very good category. Based on all aspects of the assessment of the development of instructional videos carried out by material experts and media experts and trials with students, it can be concluded that the integrated science video learning product on the theme of elephant conservation with environmental care characteristics developed is suitable for use in the learning process.Keyword: environmental care, elephant conservation, learning videoABSTRAK.Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan video pembelajaran IPA terpadu yang memuat karakter peduli lingkungan. Tema video pembelajaran yang dikembangkan adalah konservasi gajah di Taman Nasional Way Kambas. Pengembangan video pembelajaran ini diharapkan mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa dan pada implementasinya akan menumbuhkan karakter siswa untuk peduli lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Research and Development yang memuat metode survei dalam proses pengembangan video pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa validasi ahli materi dilakukan 2 kali dengan diperoleh skor 91% termasuk dalam kategori sangat valid. Validasi ahli media dilakukan sebanyak dua kali dan diperoleh skor akhir 92% termasuk dalam kategori sangat valid. Hasil ujicoba kelompok kecil kepada 10 orang siswa diperoleh skor 91% yang tergolong dalam kategori sangat baik, hasil uji coba kelompok besar kepada 30 orang siswa diperoleh skor 93% termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik. Berdasarkan seluruh aspek penilaian terhadap pengembangan video  pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh ahli materi dan ahli media serta uji coba kepada siswa dapat disimpulkan bahwa produk videopembelajaran IPA terpadu pada tema konservasi gajah berkarakter peduli lingkungan  yang dikembangkan layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.Kata kunci: peduli lingkungan, konservasi gajah, video pembelajaran

Abstract

Kegiatan Metro Clean Up merupakan kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa Tadris Biologi IAIN Metro untuk memperingati Hari Bersih-bersih Sedunia. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan di Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) Way Batanghari Kota Metro. DAS merupakan suatu megasistem kompleks yang meliputi sistem fisik, sistem biologis, dan sistem manusia yang saling berinteraksi dan berhubungan membentuk satu kesatuan ekosistem. DAS diklasifikasikan menjadi daerah hulu dan hilir. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk membersihkan bantaran sungai dari sampah plastik dan mengembalikan fungsi sungai sebagaimana mestinya, karena sungai sebagai sumber air dan irigasi masyarakat yang tinggal disekitar sungai. Dengan upaya untuk mengedukasi masyarakat mengenai pelestarian lingkungan dan meningkatkan antusiasme akan kesadaran lingkungan.

Abstract

Pengembangan rumah baca bertujuan agar anak anak mempunyai budaya senang membaca sejak dini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, dan memberikan wawasan yang luas untuk anak anak. Pengembangan rumah baca ini dilakukan dengan Teknik Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa taman bacaan masyarakat yang ada di lingkungan desa Maja berperan sebagai sumber belajar anak-anak usia dini, sumber informasi bagi para orang tua dalam membina anak usia dini, dan sarana rekreasi-edukasi bagi masyarakat. Dengan demikian taman bacaan masyarakat dapat berperan sebagai sarana belajar baik bagi anak-anak usia dini maupun para orang tua anak-anak- terutama ibu rumah tangga muda dalam memperluas pengetahuan mereka.

Abstract

Kegiatan memilah dan memilih jenis sampah dirasakan belum sepenuhnya dilakukan oleh warga kota Metro. Kondisi ini terlihat dari keadaan tempat pembuangan akhir (TPA) yang menggunung dan menimbulkan bau busuk. Selama ini sampah organik masih dibuang begitu saja karena dianggap tidak berguna lagi, bahkan dibiarkan bercampur dengan sampah non-organik. Kenyataannya, sampah organik menyumbang sekitar 60% dari rerata produksi sampah yang dihasilkan. Salah satu cara pengelolaan sampah organik adalah mengolah sampah organik menjadi pupuk organik (kompos). Pengabdian ini dilakukan di Pasar Yosomulyo Pelangi (Payungi), Kota Metro. Payungi merupakan pasar yang menyediakan kuliner tradisional, yang menyisakan sampah organik dalam proses produksi makananya. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini meliputi penyuluhan, pelatihan dan praktek. Hasil pengabdian ini yaitu warga Payungi mampu membuat keranjang takakura dan meningkatnya kepedulian warga Payungi dalam pengelolaan sampah organik. Abstract

This community service activity aims to provide assistance to FTIK IAIN Metro students in terms of writing, providing training with various materials about scientific writing, assisting, providing motivation and providing directions as well as various information on competitions, seminars and scientific journal publications. The result of this activity is in the form of increased motivation and writing skills of students participating in the scientific writing community (KOPI). This result is marked by the achievement of student achievements in various scientific writing competitions, the publication of student writings in various accredited national scientific journals, passing as a speaker at various national seminars, published in various local mass media and several books with ISBN. This service activity is expected to continue to be developed with a wider scope as an effort to increase the competitiveness of students and institutions at large.

Abstract

This research aimed to identify the effect of learning experiences through peer tutoring on students' critical thinking skills in biology learning. Then the specific target to be achieved from this study is a learning innovation that has a rapid effect on improving students' critical thinking skills in biology learning in high school students in Jambi City. The research method uses quasi-experimental research design. The procedure used was the pretest and posttest nonequivalent control group design experimental procedure. Hypothesis testing results that T count ≥ T table (2.12 ≥1.69) with a significance level of 0.05. It can be concluded that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. The achievement of critical thinking skills on experimental class was higher with a percentage of 58.78% compared to the control class with a percentage of 55.26%. The conclusion from this research is that there is a significant effect on implementation of collaborative learning models using the Class wide Peer Tutoring strategy toward students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Kemampuan yang dibutuhkan di era pembelajaran abad 21 yaitu berpikir kritis, kolaborasi, komunikasi, dan kreativitas. Maka dalam proses pembelajaran, siswa seharusnya dapat terlibat aktif dan berkolaborasi dengan teman. Peran guru sangat signifikan untuk setiap proses pembelajaran yang berkualitas dan bermakna. Berdasarkan observasi awal yang dilakukan di sekolah dalam pembelajaran biologi, diketahui bahwa proses pembelajaran masih lebih berpusat pada guru, dimana guru hanya menyampaikan materi sebagai suatu produk dan siswa menghafal informasi faktual. Untuk alasan inilah, kemampuan guru dalam mempersiapkan pengalaman belajar bagi siswa, seharusnya tidak hanya menekankan produk tetapi juga memperhatikan aspek proses dan sikap yang berhubungan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti memberikan beberapa gagasan terkait inovasi pembelajaran yang bisa dijadikan rujukan oleh guru untuk memperbaiki proses pembelajaran supaya tujuan pembelajaran tercapai.
