Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine student responses after being given an introduction to mathematical literacy using card media. Literacy cards contain literacy contexts in everyday life that are associated with commonly encountered problems. The research method used is descriptive qualitative using instruments in the form of questionnaire student responses. The questionnaire was prepared and tested for validity by expert validators. There were three dimensions developed in this questionnaire including the appearance of card media, the usefulness of literacy cards, and the suitability of using literacy cards. Each dimension was then developed into an indicator and elaborated on several questionnaire points. The subjects of this study were eighth grade students, totaling 18 students. The results were analyzed using microsoft excel to determine the level of student response. A description of the results was carried out to provide a clear picture of each indicator. Based on the results, it obtained on the display indicators and content of literacy cards as much as 68% agree, ease of use of literacy cards as much as 70% and the usefulness of literacy cards by 71% which shows that the interpretation of literacy recognition through card games gives a good response by respondents.

Abstract

Model pembelajaran PBL dengan strategi pembelajaran MURDER terhadap kemampuan literasi matematika siswa terbukti efektif diterapkan dalam penelitian ini. Sampel yang digunakan berjumlah 30 siswa dari keseluruhan populasi . Pengambilan data menggunakan metode tes yang terdiri dari pretes dan postest kemampuan literasi. Uji kevalidan perangkat pembelajaran dilakukan oleh validator ahli. Perangkat berupa tes kemampuan literasi siswa dilakukan uji validitas, reliabilitas dan tingkat kesukaran. Hasil didapatkan nilai zhitung lebih besar dibandingkan ztabel yaitu 0,17 dengan dan taraf kesalahan 0,05 berdasarka uji ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa telah tercapai ketuntasan belajar secara klasikal pada nilai rata-rata tes kemampuan literasi matematika. Uji statistik beda rata-rata hasil TKLM diperoleh thitung = 5,18. Taraf nyata 0,05 dan dk = 58 dhasilnya ttabel = 1,67. Karena thitung>ttabel maka kemampuan literasi matematika siswa pada kelas ekperimen lebih tinggi daripada siswa pada kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan uji beda rata-rata skor gain diperoleh thitung = 4,70.Taraf nyata 0,05 dan = 58 diperoleh ttabel = 1,67. Dari hasil uji gain siswa kelas ekperimen lebih unggul daripada kelas kontrol. Sehingga penerapan pembelajaran model PBL strategi MURDER dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi siswa dapat dikatakan efektif.
