Abstract

The research was conducted at Malang goat slaughterhouse on November 10th to December 10th 2016. This study is to determine the number of goat slaughter based on sex, age group, and carcass weight. The material used as many as 128 goats. The method used is a case study. Data observed was presented in average value and standard deviation for being descriptive analysis. Results showed the slaughter rate of male goat reached 14.06% and females reached 85.94%. The slaughter rate of goat aged less than 1 year is 28.91%, age 1 - 1.5 years are 22.66%, age 1.5 - 2.5 years are 13.28%, 2.5 - 3.5 years old is 14.06% and age is 3.5 - 4 years 21.09%. The average carcass weight of male goat which less than 1 year - 4 years vary between 10.37±3.58 kg - 22.77±4.51 kg, and female goat carcass weight 10.9±2.21 kg - 19.63±4.32 kg. The conclusion of this research is that female goat slaughter at Malang goat slaughterhouse is very high reach 85.94% while the male slaughter is only 14.06%. The highest goat slaughter rate aged less than 1 year reached 28.91% consist male goat 4.69% and female 24.21%. Male and female goat carcasses percentage aged less than 1 year - 4 years varies between 48.32% - 50.34% and 48.55% - 49.31%. From this research, it is suggested to reduce female livestock slaughter and further research is needed on the level of productive doe slaughter in Malang slaughterhouse area. Keywords: Slaughter rate, Goat, Slaughterhouse

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jumlah kambing yang dipotong berdasarkan umur sapih dan bobot karkas. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 66 ekor kambing dengan umur kurang dari 1 tahun (PI0). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode studi kasus berdasarkan pengamatan langsung dengan melihat gigi seri (poel) untuk pendugaan umur dan penimbangan bobot hidup dan bobot karkas. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah tingkat pemotongan kambing betina sebanyak 110 ekor atau 60%. Penyembelihan kambing pada umur PI0 adalah 49 atau 74%, PI1 adalah 17 atau 26%. Rata-rata bobot karkas kambing betina adalah PI0 7,32 ± 2,64 kg, PI1 8,74 ± 1,69 kg. Persentase karkas yang dihasilkan kambing betina berbagai umur rata-rata 47,01 ± 0,99 %. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah kasus penyembelihan kambing di TPH Kabupaten Kediri berdasarkan jenis kelamin, kambing betina umur PI0 dan PI1 lebih banyak dibandingkan kambing jantan sebesar 95,66%. Pada kategori umur yang sama, rata-rata bobot karkas kambing betina lebih rendah satu persen dibandingkan bobot karkas rata-rata kambing jantan.

Abstract

 This research was conducted in private Slaughterhouses located in Ngunutsari Village on November 10th to December 10th, 2016. The purpose of this research is to know the level of the slaughtered sheep in the Malang. The sample used equals 105 sheep from of age less 1 to 4 years consisting of 12 rams and 93 ewes. The method used in this research is a case study. Research location was obtained by purposive sampling. Animals used in the research was selected by total sampling. Data observed was presented in average value and standard deviation for being descriptive analysis. Results showed that the level of sheep slaughtered in the age less than 1 year reached 31.43%, therefore the slaughtered of rams as much 1.9% and ewes 29.52% of the total slaughter. The level of ewe slaughtered has increased each week from 1st week 17.14%, 2nd week 16.2%, 3rd week 26.67%, and 4th week 28.57% in comparison with the Rams. The average of ram carcass weight from of age less 1 to 4 years in a row is 8.95 ± 0.07, 9.8 ± 2.68, 8.45 ± 0.63, 12.05 ± 3.6, and 20.64 ± 5.43 ± with level 10.66 ± 2.34 kg, whereas in the ewe is 6.99 ± 1.19, 7.26 ± 1.12, 8.21 ± 1.2, 12.01 ± 1.93, and 11.38 ± 3.29 with level 9.17 ± 2.35 kg. It was concluded that the level of slaughter reach 88.57% of ewe whiles the ram reach 11.43%. The level slaughter of sheep from of age less than 1 year reach 31.43% consists of the ram reach 1.9% and ewe reaches 29.52% of the total slaughter. Abstract

Purpose: This abstract explores the need for integrated development in the agricultural and livestock sectors of Ngenep Village, Karangploso, Malang Regency, focusing on utilizing livestock waste effectively. Method: The study details the steps to develop a system for producing organic fertilizer and animal feed from agricultural and livestock waste. It highlights the successful implementation within the "Langgeng Mulya" dairy cattle farming community, emphasizing the utilization of waste for organic fertilizer in chili and tomato cultivation. Practical Applications: The research findings showcase the positive response of local farmers to the utilization of livestock waste, addressing the scarcity of organic fertilizer, particularly for tomato and chili growers. This sustainable approach fosters self-sufficiency and offers insights into waste-to-resource strategies. Conclusion: This study underscores the importance of integrating the agricultural and livestock sectors for sustainable waste management and resource utilization. It provides valuable lessons for enhancing the efficiency of rural development programs.
