Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji kinerja dan kelayakan dari alat dan metode analisis detergen baru yang didasarkan pada proses fotokatalisis untuk mendegradsi LAS dan ABS sebagai senyawa aktif detergen. Pengujian dilakukan dengan mengukur gas CO yang terbentuk dari hasil degradasi pada waktu 1 jam selama 5 jam reaksi. Dari hasil-hasil penentuan tersebut diuji parameter analitisnya Hasil uji kinerja reaktor diperoleh parameter analitik sebagai berikut, kepekaan : 0,394 sampai 0,460, batas deteksi : 0,16 mg/L, ketepatan (persen galat relatif) : 0,94% sampai 12,88% dan kecermatan ( persen simpangan baku) : 0,12 % sampai 0,14%, rentang linearitas : 0,4 mg/L sampai 2 mg/L.Hasil kalibrasi menggunakan larutan standar terhadap alat ini diperoleh persamaan regresi y = 1,033x – 77,713 dengan nilai R22= 0,988, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa alat tersebut telah terkalibrasi dan layak untuk digunakan sebagai alat ukur. Hasil pengujian juga menujukkan bahwa kombinasi proses fotokatalisis dan pengukuran menggunakan sensor CO, yang dirangkai dalam suatu alat uji (kit test), dapat digunakan untuk analisis LAS dan ABS yang terlarut di perairan dengan konsentrasi di atas atau sama dengan 25 mg/L. Menurut pengujian parameter analitis metode ini tidak seakurat metode standar MBAS, namun metode yang dikembangkan ini bersifat praktis karena dapat dioperasikan dilapangan juga bersifat efektif dan efisien karena mempunyai prosedur yang sederhana, tidak memerlukan bahan kimia yang banyak dan mudah dioperasikan.

Abstract

Aren merupakan salah satu tanaman yang mudah tumbuh di daerah tropis, khususnya di Indonesia. Produk utama dari pohon aren adalah nira yang dihasilkan dari bunganya yang dapat digunakan sebagai pemanis alami yang memiliki indeks glikemik rendah. Gula aren juga memiliki aktivitas sebagai antioksidan dan berbagai manfaat lainnya. Pada penelitian ini, untuk meningkatkan pemanfaatan gula aren, telah dilakukan pembuatan produk kemasan jamu aren beras kencur dengan berbagai variasi konsentrasi. Komposisi terbaik didapatkan dengan cara melakukan analisis kandungan makronutrien, meliputi kadar air dan kadar abu. Kadar air dianalisis dengan menggunakan moisture analyzer method, sementara kadar abu diuji dengan metode pemanasan. Kadar air dan abu terendah ditemukan pada sampel E dengan perbandingan konsentrasi aren:beras kencur sebesar 2:1. Sampel dengan komposisi terbaik kemudian dianalisis aktivitas antioksidannya.

Abstract

Hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL) of oil palm empty fruit bunch (OPEFB) in different organic solvents (methanol, ethanol, acetone, toluene and hexane) to produce bio-oil were comparatively investigated. Experiments were carried out in an autoclave at different temperature of 300, 350 and 400 oC with a fixed solid/liquid ratio of 4 gram in 50 mL solvent, without catalysts and reaction time of 5 hours. The liquid products were analyzed using GCMS to determine the chemical composition. Result showed that the chemical compositions were greatly affected by the solvent types. Each solvent has a major component in bio-oil products. The major compounds resulted from methanol and ethanol solvent were ketones/others. The major compounds resulted from toluene and hexane solvents were organic acid, which favoured high temperature. Meanwhile, esters and organic acid were the major products from acetone solvents. Temperature operation resulted more variations in the chemical composition and the percentages of the bio-oil.

Abstract

Knowledge and skills in managing household waste and understanding the importance of stopping defecation must be mastered by the community, therefore improving skills to manage waste can be utilized and benefited as well as environmental hygiene and health through improving public health at large. The implementation method is carried out by workshops and conveying ideas through outreach activities and demonstrations to the community with household waste management using the concept of Sort-Collect-Benefit-Profit to reduce the volume of household waste and benefit the community, as well as triggering strategies which are a way to reduce household waste. volume of household waste and benefit the community, as well as triggering strategies which are ways to change individual hygiene and sanitation or community behavior on their own awareness by touching the feelings, mindset, behavior, and habits of individuals or communities, namely by providing health education to the community. This community service activity was carried out at the Bumi Katineung Rangkasbitung Hotel on September 3, 2021 with 30 participants involved in this activity consisting of representatives from 28 sub-districts in Lebak Regency, Banten Province. The achievement targets in this activity are increasing the ability of residents to manage household waste, the use of household waste for media, the importance of managing a waste bank, and the habit of stopping plant defecation. The results of this activity show that community members are very enthusiastic and have the potential to use household waste to make compost or recycle waste, and understand the importance of stopping defecation, simply. The follow-up of this activity is the formation of waste bank managers in various regions/villages and continuous counseling on the habit of stopping defecation by providing/constructing public or family latrines.

Abstract

The increase in the number of washing industries each year parallels the increase in waste production. Without previous treatment, the created laundry waste will be disposed of straight into the environment, causing environmental damage. Laundry waste is characterized by high concentrations of BOD, COD, and LAS, which contribute to environmental damage. This study's objective is to treat laundry waste by adsorption using shell waste. Observed variables included powder size (50, 100, 150, and 200 mesh) and contact time (30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes). The filtrate was tested to determine the concentrations of BOD, COD, and LAS. The obtained results indicate that the optimal adsorbent size is 150 mesh, which can lower BOD levels by 80%, LAS levels by 38.85%, and COD levels by 67.34 %. The optimal period for decreasing COD and BOD levels is 90 minutes, which can reduce BOD levels by 80 percent and COD levels by 74.5 percent, and 120 minutes, which can cut LAS levels by 35.67 percent. The appropriate LAS adsorption isotherm is the Freundlich isotherm with R2 of 0.95023. The use of eggshell waste as an adsorbent demonstrates the significance of environmentally friendly waste treatment technology to laundry waste treatment.

Abstract

Salah satu kebutuhan dasar bagi manusia adalah pangan. Jika ketersediaan pangan relatif lebih kecil dibandingkan dengan kebutuhan maka akan menyebabkan ketidakstabilan ekonomi secara nasional. Oleh karena itu, penting untuk menggali potensi sumber daya alam khususnya pangan yang terdapat di suatu daerah untuk diproduksi dan dikembangkan, misalnya pada Provinsi Banten yang mempunyai berbagai jenis pangan lokal salah satunya yaitu aren. Gula aren jahe sari kacang hijau telah berhasil diproduksi dan dianalisis kandungan nutrisinya melalui uji tingkat kesukaan produk dengan uji organoleptik, kadar air menggunakan metode mouisture analyzer, kadar abu menggunakan metode pemanasan, kadar protein menggunakan metode kjeldahl, kadar lemak menggunakan metode soxhlet, kadar gula menggunakan metode Luff Schoorl, dan aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan metode FRAP. Berdasarkan pengujian tersebut diperoleh kandungan nutrisi terbaik pada variasi gula aren jahe 70%:sari kacang hijau 30% dengan tingkat kesukaan yang paling tinggi dan hasil analisis yang hampir memenuhi SNI 01-4320-1996 tentang syarat mutu serbuk minuman tradisional yang memiliki kadar air 1,27%, kadar abu 1,35%, kadar protein 5,75%, kadar lemak 0,46%, kadar gula 97,54%, dan terbukti memiliki kandungan antioksidan, sehingga dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai minuman kesehatan.

Abstract

Osteoporosis is a metabolic bone disease characterized by a decrease in bone mass, caused by a reduction in bone matrix and minerals accompanied by microarchitectural deterioration of bone tissue. Factors such as hormone production, the aging process, and the formation of free radicals due to oxidative stress by Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) can stimulate bone resorption. The content of secondary metabolite compounds in Crescentia cujete L. has medicinal properties for diseases. Purpose: this study was to determine the phenolic compound of Crescentia cujete L which has acted as an anti-osteoporosis with the approach of docking in silico. Extraction and partitioning of Crescentia cujete L fruit extracts in this study used n-hexane and toluene solvents with the aim of obtaining phenolic group compounds, knowing the toxicity value of partition results, obtaining the structure of phenolic compounds that have the potential to be anti-osteoporosis, and validating the ability of these phenolic compounds as anti-oxidants. As a result, n-hexane and toluene extracts are known to contain elevated levels of active and toxic compounds with LC50 values of 31.79 ppm and 93.49 ppm, respectively. The phytochemical test shows the presence of phenolic groups with maximum wavelengths at 302-320 nm. Benzene acetate, trans-cinnamic acid, and propanoic acid have the lowest affinity bonds with receptor 2F8A (Glutathione peroxidase); -4.21, -4.81, and -4.72 kcal/mol. Whereas at the 3KWZ receptor (Cathepsin K); -6.0, -5.4, and -5.0 kcal/mol. Conclusion: The phenolic compound of Crescentia cujete extract L can be used as an alternative treatment for osteoporosis by inhibiting the enzymes Glutathione peroxidase and Cathepsin K

Abstract

Talas Beneng merupakan produk pangan lokal dari daerah Banten yang memiliki potensi besar dalam melaksanakan diversifikasi pangan, khususnya sebagai sumber bahan baku pembuatan pangan substitusi beras yaitu beras analog. Komposisi dan kandungan gizi yang cukup baik dari talas beneng merupakan faktor penting dalam pemanfaatannya untuk dapat digunakan sebagai pangan alternatif pengganti beras/nasi. Pada reviu ini dipaparkan mengenai sifat dan karakteristik tanaman talas beneng, beserta komposisi senyawa yang terkandung di dalamnya.

Abstract

Aluminum Alloy 5052 (AA 5052) is a metal that can be used as a biopolar plate in proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC), because it has the advantages of being resistant to corrosion, high conductivity, easy shape and light weight. PEMFC produces electrical energy and the rest of the process in the form of hot water and steam. In a bipolar plate PEMFC environment corrosion can easily occur due to an acidic environment and high operating temperature around 40°C-80°C. For this reason, a treatment is needed to strengthen the corrosion-resistant properties of AA 5052. The coating of the material can be done using the technique of electrophoretic deposition (EPD) using green inhibitor to reduce the corrosion rate. The electrochemical method was carried out to see how much influence temperature had on the corrosion rate of AA 5052. In this study, d-galactose green inhibitor with a concentration of 0.5 g, EPD time of 20 minutes was used, in a PEMFC environmental simulation in 0.5 M H2SO4 sulfuric acid medium, with test temperatures of 25°C (room temperature), 40°C, 60°C, and 80°C. From the results of the analysis using the electrochemical method, there was an effect of temperature on the corrosion rate of AA 5052 without an inhibitor layer of 0.3610 mmpy at room temperature and increased at 80°C 3.9527 mmpy. While AA 5052 which was coated with a d-galactose inhibitor, had a corrosion rate of 0.1678 mmpy at room temperature and continued to increase at a temperature of 80°C 3.7745 mmpy. Inhibitor efficiency was 53.51% at room temperature and decreased with increasing temperature to 4.5% at 80°C.
