Abstract

Bhinneka Tunggal Ika adalah sebuah produk politik kerajaan/negara untuk membangun toleransi kehidupan beragama. Artikel ini menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan tentang pembelajaran Bhinneka Tunggal Ika yang terdapat di dalam buku-buku teks Ilmu Pengetahuan So-sial Sekolah Dasar (IPS SD). Analisis menggunakan metode kualitatif interpretif yang menfokus-kan pada analisis isi “narasi-narasi tekstual” di dalam enam buku teks elektronik IPS SD kelas I-VI SD/MI yang telah dinilai dan ditetapkan kelayakannya oleh BSNP-Kemendikbud sebagai buku pegangan siswa. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa buku-buku teks IPS SD telah melakukan eks-trapolasi konseptual dan fungsional tentang Bhinneka Tunggal Ika pada aspek sosial, ekonomi, bu-daya, dan seni di dalam kehidupan personal, keluarga, sekolah, masyarakat sekitar, dan negara-bangsa. Ia juga mampu mengubahnya dari sebuah doktrin politik kerajaan/kenegaraan menjadi se-buah doktrin pendidikan; dan dari konsep ‘ideologis’ untuk kepentingan dan tujuan politik kera-jaan/kenegaraan, menjadi konsep ‘pedagogis’ untuk kepentingan dan tujuan pendidikan kewarga-negaraan.

Abstract

This study examines Somantri’s thought about the epistemology of social studies as a scientific discipline. The Study is a qualitative-interpretive (philosophical inquiry) using his academic works as a primary source, and related expertise references as secondary sources selected by annotated bibliography and literature review techniques; then analyzed by a qualitative content analysis technique. The results of the study show, epistemologically, the social studies within Somantri’s thought conceptualized as a synthetic discipline and an integrated educational program, a product of synergistic reengineering from two or more disciplines equivalent for the social studies purposes. The synthetic discipline is the nature, identity, and a culture of faculty and postgraduate of the social studies. It has four academic status namely ‘advance knowledge’, ‘middle-studies’, ‘primary structure’; and ‘integrated educational program’ developed at all levels of the school and teachers’ college.

Abstract

This study describes student’s reflective-inquiry competencies on problem solving at Tuton assignments, majoring Curriculum and Materials of Citizenship Education (PKNI 4313). This study is conducted in two Tuton periods, 2015.1 and 2015.2 by using four stages of Research and Development. As the research subject, this study is involving 39 student participants. The reflective-inquiry contents are presented in real social or public problems, cases or issues, which give any challenge to the student to think by reflective-inquiry. The student’s reflective-inquiry competency is collected by Practical Inquiry Model instrument is used to assess the student’s cognitive, social, and teaching presence in the online learning context or computer conference. Generally, results of the study shown that student’s reflective-inquiry competency in the problem solving at Tuton assignments are “not satisfy” especially in the steps : (1) reflective-inquiry process, such as the ability of reviewing, examining, exploring, or analyzing all the consideration to reach the explication and clarification from the problem; building the relation of valuable linkages and finding the possibility explication; (2) reflective-inquiry post, such as the ability in making resolution or conclusion; and taking a projected decision that they have been clarified, combined, or solved.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of participatory leadership style, motivation and work environment on employee performance at the Department of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) of Yapen Islands Regency, Papua, Indonesia. This research is a quantitative research with the sources of data collected in this study are primary data and secondary data. This study used a saturated sample with a total of 101 people and applied multiple regression to analyse the data. It found that the participatory leadership did not affect the employee performance, while motivation and work environment influence the employee performance. It implies that the latter variables are the employee performance’s key drivers and should be the main priorities.

Abstract

The study of the character and its development at distance education system is a new intensive effort since the 2000s period. Nevertheless, various studies show a clear trend to the development of four characters that were performance, relational, moral, and spiritual. The four character developments have reflected and integrated in the various contexts of using and designing of DE technologies, and it also became a main characteristic in the study and development of character at DE. This paper reviews the various studies about the characters and its developments in the DE context, and some of the efforts made by DE providers. Studi tentang karakter dan pengembangannya dalam sistem pendidikan jarak jauh (SPJJ) masih merupakan ikhtiar yang baru intensif dilakukan sejak periode 2000an. Sekalipun demikian, berbagai studi memperlihatkan kecenderungan yang jelas pada 4 pengembangan karakter, yaitu karakter kinerja, relasional, moral, dan spiritual. Pengembangan keempat karakter tersebut direfleksikan dan terintegrasi di dalam berbagai konteks penggunaan desain dan medium teknologi PJJ, dan sekaligus menjadi karakteristik atau ciri khas dalam studi dan pengembangan karakter pada SPJJ. Tulisan ini akan meninjau berbagai studi tentang karakter dan pengembangannya dalam konteks SPJJ; dan beberapa ikhtiar yang telah dilakukan oleh institusi PJJ dalam pengembangan karakter.

Abstract

This paper describes the result of philosophical inquiry about the existence and development of inquiry-reflective paradigm of the Social Studies in the scholar community thoughts, and the curriculum development within the schools' level. Analysis focused on the social studies competences to be achieved (objectives); approaches need to be done (methods); learning contents need to be given (content). The analysis shows that the development paradigm-reflective inquiry at the social studies community is still the academic discourse, and not been yet a shared commitment. In fact, there are strong indications of the paradigm in Indonesia have 'stagnant’. The Social Studies curriculum also not consistently provides space for the development of inquiry-reflective thinking skills in a whole.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengembangkan desain tutorial online (tuton) PIPS model siklus belajar (MBS). Penelitian dilakukan di portal UT-Online menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan. Subjek penelitian adalah 21 mahasiswa peserta tuton dari 16 Unit Program Belajar Jarak Jauh (UPBJJ) di Indonesia. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik dokumentasi dan validasi, serta dianalisis dengan teknik analisis deskriptif-persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa desain tuton model MBS secara ‘kuantitatif’ kurang efektif meningkatkan aktivitas/partisipasi mahasiswa dalam forum inisiasi, diskusi, tanya jawab, dan penyelesaian tugas-tugas tutorial. Namun secara ‘kualitatif’, kualitas diskusi dan tanya jawab ‘cukup baik’ dilihat dari interaksi yang terjadi antar-partisipan, dan konten diskusikan/tanya jawab. Ketepatan waktu penyelesaian tugas-tugas tuton, perolehan nilai tugas, dan tingkat penguasaan mahasiswa atas kompetensi PIPS juga ’baik’. Rendahnya tingkat partisipasi mahasiswa di dalam tuton disebabkan oleh faktor keterbatasan waktu akses, yang menyebabkan jumlah mahasiswa akses, frekwensi, durasi, dan waktu akses sangat terbatas; dan faktor teknis, terkait dengan kendala dan keterbatasan biaya, fasilitas, dan jaringan akses. The purpose of the study is to develop a tutorial online (tuton) design for Social Studies uses learning cycle model (LC-Model). The study was conducted at UT-Online portal uses the Research and Development (RD) method. The research subjects consist of 21 UT’s students from 16 Units of Distance Learning Program (UPBJJ) in Indonesia. Data collected with the documentation and validation techniques, and analyzed with the descriptive-percentage techniques. The study shows that the tuton design using the LC-Model, quantitatively, is not effective to increase students’ activity/participation in initiation, discussion, and ask-questions forums, also to completion of tutorial assignments. Qualitatively, however, the quality of their discussions and ask-questions are ‘good’, viewed to processes and contents of discussion and ask-questions. Timeliness to the completion of tuton assignments, the acquisition of the task scores, and the level of student’s mastery to social studies competency also is 'good'. The low of students’ participation in the tuton was caused by the limited time for access viewed from the amount of students who accesses, access frequency, duration, and time; and technical factors associated with cost, facilities, and access network constraints or limitations.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan mengkaji dan mendeskripsikan dinamika organisasi kependidikan di Indonesia. Studi dilakukan pada situs-situs resmi organisasi profesi kependidikan menggunakan analisis konten atau teks web difokuskan pada sejarah perkembangan; pelaksanaan peran, fungsi, tugas dan kewenangan organisasi, serta kendala atau masalah yang dihadapi. Studi menunjukkan bahwa ada lebih dari 100 organisasi profesi pendidikan di Indonesia berbentuk asosiasi, federasi, forum, komunitas/masyarakat, serikat, klub, koalisi, aliansi, dan/atau lembaga. Dinamika organisasi dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor akademik-profesional, yuridis-formal, serta konteks sosial-politik organisasi. Secara umum, organisasi profesi pendidikan di Indonesia masih fokus pada fungsi pengembangan profesional. Sementara, fungsi advokasi hanya dilakukan oleh beberapa organisasi profesional; dan fungsi regulasi (standarisasi, akreditasi, sertifikasi, dan lisensi) masih dikoordinasikan dan dikendalikan oleh lembaga yang ditetapkan oleh Departemen Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan dan/atau LPTK. Masalah yang dihadapi oleh organisasi terkait dengan pelaksanaan fungsi dan kewenangan organisasi di bidang regulasi. The study was aimed to examines and describes the dynamics of professional organizations of education in Indonesia focused on the development, implementation of the roles, functions, duties, authorities, and the problems are faced. Data was collected from the organizations official websites and analyzed using web’ content or textual analysis. The study shown that there are more than 100 professional organizations of education in Indonesia. It formed in association, federation, forum, community/society, union, club, coalition, alliance, and/or institution. The dynamics of the organizations were influenced by academic-professional, juridical-formal, as well as socio-political context of organizations. In general, professional organizations of education in Indonesia were still focused on the development functions of professional. Meanwhile, advocacy functions are performed by some professional organizations, and regulatory functions (standardization, accreditation, certification, and licensing) are remains coordinated and controlled by institutions established by the Ministry of National Education and/or LPTK. Problems which faced by organizations are related to the implemention of regulatory functions.

Abstract

This study aims to produce interactive animated multimedia learning tools that are valid, practical, and effective in improving student learning outcomes of healthy food materials. This method used research and development with the ADDIE model and designed quasi-experiments. The population of this study was the teacher council along with grade V students of SDN Tamanbaru, SDN Kebalenan, SDN Sobo, SDN Kertosari 1, SDN Kertosari 2, and SDN Model. With samples of SDN Kebalenan (N = 28) as the experimental class and SDN Sobo (N = 28) as the control class. Assessment instruments were in the form of questionnaires, written tests, and observations. The data analysis techniques used were validity, reliability, normality, pair sample t-test, homogeneity, and independent t-test. The results showed: 1) Interactive animated multimedia devices, very feasible to use and valid with a value of 93.33%. The average reliability of 92.6 in the Excellent Reliability category; 2) Interactive animated multimedia devices, very practical with the ability to manage learning in experimental classes by 94.5% and student responses by 91.2%; 3) Interactive animated multimedia devices, very effective based on independent t-test data, with the significance value of Levene's test 0.189 > 0.05. The value of significance equality of means 0.002 < 0.05. While the statistically independent t-test group in the experimental class was 75.61 and the control class 64.86. Thus, interactive animated multimedia learning tools are valid, practical, and effective to be used in the learning process of healthy food materials.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji dan menganalisis validitas, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan e-modul berbasis google sites untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran berbasis bukti pada siswa SD Al-Furqon Kabupaten Jember dalam pembelajaran IPA. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan Research and Development dengan model pengembangan ADDIE dengan tahapan meliputi analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data pada uji validitas, uji kepraktisan, dan uji efektifitas. Analisis hasil tes kemampuan penalaran berbasis bukti menggunakan analisis n-gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa validitas e-modul berbasis google sites adalah 95,2 % dengan kategori sangat valid. Uji kepraktisan dengan respon siswa terhadap penggunaan e-modul interaktif sebesar 93,5% dengan kriteria sangat baik, dan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran menggunakan e-modul berbasis google sites sebesar 93,2% dengan kategori sangat efektif. Hasil analisis n-gain menunjukkan penggunana e-modul berbasis google sites dapat meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran berbasis bukti sebesar 0,96 dengan kategori tinggi. Implikasi penelitian ini hasil pengembangan e-modul berbasis Google Sites dapat menjadi alternatif pendukung pembelajaran, untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran berbasis bukti dan memberikan kemudahan serta membangun pengetahuan peserta didik dalam memahami materi IPA.
