Abstract

Tirto Margo Mulyo Livestock Group still practices conventional dairy cattle management with inadequate sanitation and milking hygiene management. This has led to a high incidence of mastitis, which adversely affects the farm, such as decreased milk quality and production, increased treatment costs, and accelerated culling of cows. The community service program implemented includes examinations using the California Mastitis Test, training in making disinfectant solutions, and teat dipping. This program aims to develop farmer cadres, maintain milk quality and quantity, and prevent both clinical and subclinical mastitis. The pre-test results showed an average score of 6 points among the group members. While the farmers were aware of mastitis, they were unfamiliar with subclinical mastitis. A post-test was conducted after the program, and the results showed an improvement, with the average score rising to 8 points. Additionally, the mastitis testing revealed a decrease in subclinical mastitis among the dairy cows in the Margo Mulyo group. Conclusion, the community service activities (PMM) were successful in increasing the farmers' knowledge, reducing the incidence of mastitis, and enhancing the motivation of the farmers to implement proper milking management practices.

Abstract

The manufacturing industry is continuously challenged to improve production efficiency and quality. Production machinery plays a crucial role in supporting smooth manufacturing processes, especially in the fabrication of special vehicle components. One such machine is the TruLaser 1030, a 2D laser cutting machine manufactured by TRUMPF, which is used for processing body and accessory parts in special vehicles. This study aims to evaluate the performance of the TruLaser 1030 machine using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method, as well as to identify damaged machine components and maintenance requirements. The Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) approach is applied to enhance equipment effectiveness, prevent breakdowns, and ensure product quality and workplace safety. The OEE methodology involves three main parameters: Availability, Performance Rate, and Quality Rate. The results show the machine’s availability at 94%, performance rate at %, and quality rate at 97.1%. These findings suggest that the TruLaser 1030 machine operates at a relatively optimal level; however, regular evaluations of work systems and maintenance programs are necessary to maintain stable performance and continuously improve productivity.

Abstract

Bearings are critical elements for supporting shaft rotation in industrial equipment. In the AST-MPV detergent-packaging machine at PT. X, ASB 6302-2RS bearings frequently experience jamming because of detergent-dust contamination. This study analyzed bearing service life and evaluated, as an initial comparative observation, the effect of additional grease under detergent-water exposure. The analytical stage used rotational speed, load conversion, dynamic equivalent load, and nominal bearing-life calculation with standardized N and kN units. The experimental stage compared two specimens: bearing A with manually applied Black Grease NLGI 3 LA and bearing B without additional grease. Both specimens were immersed in a 2 kg detergent and 1 L water mixture for five days, rotated at 1000 rpm for 30 min and 1500 rpm for 30 min, and measured using caliper and dial indicator. The corrected spring deflection was 0.006 m, and the calculated service life was 3479.1223 h at 1930 rpm. Additional grease reduced radius wear from 0.52 mm to 0.13 mm and outer-diameter wear from 0.10 mm to 0.03 mm. These findings suggest that scheduled grease lubrication may reduce wear in detergent-contaminated environments, although replicated testing is required.

Abstract

The Andhini Lestari and Andhini Rahayu Livestock Groups are groups of smallholder breeders whose maintenance is still carried out conventionally. Poor milking sanitation and hygiene management is still a problem for this group of farms. Farmers conventionally carry out milking with a very low level of hygiene. Milking hygiene needs to be considered because it will affect udder health. Udder health affects the quality and quantity of milk produced. Unhealthy milking hygiene will cause the udder to suffer from mastitis which is very detrimental to the farmer. So, to maintain good milk quality, farmers must follow milking hygiene procedures as an implementation of Good Dairy Farming Practices. A series of activities that will be carried out are training in making disinfectant solutions and dipping teas, making milking SOPs, applying Good Dairy Farming Practices. The aim of carrying out this PKM is to form cadres of breeders in the Andhini Lestari and Andhini Rahayu groups, Karangtengah Village, Cilongok District, Banyumas and breeders in the surrounding areas; Maintaining good milk quality at the smallholder level through implementing good milking hygiene; And prevents the occurrence of mastitis in dairy cows.
