Abstract

The Qur'an and Hadith are Islamic teachings in which there are teachings for charity and work which are prescribed in the sentence "amal as shalihat". The work ethic is one of the seven elements of universal culture, namely the element of "living livelihood system". livelihood system means economic life. Work is an activity carried out by humans in achieving prosperity and if they are lazy, they will fail to get it. Success and failure are the result of their own hard work efforts. In Islam, the characteristics of the work ethic are looking for worldly wealth in a lawful way, not asking for help, providing for family needs and compassion for neighbors. As Rasulullah saw., made work as the actualization of faith and piety. Therefore for a Muslim life is to work. Allah SWT in his word remember that Allah SWT will not change the fate of humans before humans change what is in themselves.

Abstract

This study examines how network etiquette, in this context, refers to public reactions in the YouTube comment section to videos deemed offensive. This study aims to analyze network etiquette in digital da'wah on the YouTube social media platform. It is hoped that this study will produce Network Etiquette as a reference for responding to controversial da'wah videos in digital da'wah. The method used in this study is content analysis using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection begins with formulating the research problem, selecting samples, defining analytical categories, coding data, analyzing data, and interpreting the results. The results show that many comments still violate the principles of network etiquette, particularly regarding polite language. This is in line with the network etiquette theory of Rahmawati et al. (2022), which emphasizes the importance of applying the THINK concept before commenting, so that communication is ethical in the digital space. Furthermore, contextual analysis shows that the anonymity of YouTube users, which allows them the freedom to express emotions without considering social impact, contributes to low compliance with network etiquette.

Abstract

This study explores how the alumni of the Raudhatul Qur’an Islamic Boarding School in Metro City contribute to community empowerment through the Living Qur’an framework. The research aims to examine the effectiveness of alumni-led initiatives in sustaining religious knowledge and practices in a city undergoing cultural and religious transitions. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach and a case study method, data were collected through in-depth interviews with alumni and pesantren caregivers, as well as documentation of institutional and community activities. The analysis employs Jim Ife’s community development theory and Robert D. Putnam’s social capital theory to assess how alumni utilize social trust, norms, and networks to promote Quranic values within society. The findings reveal a distinct model of Living Qur’an-based community empowerment implemented through three main strategies: active community participation, social justice, and local capacity building. The study concludes that the alumni effectively preserve and revitalize Quranic culture by leveraging their social capital, reinforcing the potential of religious institutions as drivers of community development in urban transitional contexts. This research contributes to the discourse on Islamic education, social cohesion, and faith-based community empowerment in contemporary urban settings.
