Abstract

Early adulthood have a need to develop an intimate relationship through marriage (Santrock, 2002). Before deciding to hold the marriage, they conducted a series of decision-making process. Self-esteem is one of the variables that involved in individual decision-making. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the direction and strength of relationship between self-esteem and decision-making to get married among early adulthood Balinese women. A total of 196 Balinese women aged between 20 up to 40 years old and married becoming the subject of this quantitative correlational research. The sampling technique was two-stage cluster sampling. Measuring instruments used are the self-esteem scale (27 items; rxx` = 0,883) and decision-making to get married scale (16 items; rxx` = 0,824). Data were processed using Pearson Product Moment analysis, simple linear regression, and one-way ANOVA analysis. Statistical analysis show, there is significant correlation between self-esteem and decision-making to get married among early adulthood Balinese women (r= 0,723; p= 0,000). The coefficient of determination obtained for 0,523 which means that 52,3% of the variance that occurs in the decision-making to get married variable can be explained by the variance in self-esteem variable. F test analysis found that the mean scores for decision-making to get married did not differ significantly when assessed from the level of education (F= 1,169; p= 0,323) and birth order (F= 0,601; p= 0,550). Abstract

Adolescence is a transition from childhood to adulthood. Physical, cognitive, social and emotional changes are happening in this stage. These changes make adolescents become aware about physical attractiveness on social interaction and develop some ideas about their body. Their body growth which not conform to their cultural standard and social reaction to a variety of body form, make girl adolecents become dissatisfied of their body and make a negative value about their body. A negative value about body also makes these girl adolescents become restless and have a low self-confidence. The aim of this study is to know relationship between body image and self confidence on girl adolescents. Cluster sampling is used in this study. Respondents are 492 students of some SMAN Denpasar, and it carried out in each selected SMAN Denpasar. This study use a body image scale by 38 items (reliability : 0,859) and a self confidence scale by 24 items (reliability : 0,881). Product moment is used to test hypothesis in this study and a simple regression is used to determine models of relationship and value of body image variable in explaining self-confidence variable. The results showed that there was a positive but relatively weak relationship between body image and self-confidence on girl adolescents students in Denpasar (r = 0,350; p < 0,05). The result is suitable with Centi’s idea (1997) that person who does not accept and does not satisfied to her body and appearance has low self confidence. The coefficient of determination (R2) obtained in the study was 0.122, which means the contribution of body image variable in explaining the self-confidence variable is 12.2 %, and it is a causal relationship. Abstract

Writing thesis is one of the important academic area as one of the requirements to earn a bachelor degree (Catrunada, 2008). In the process of writting thesis, a lot of student who have difficulties and failures are caused by the tendency of procrastination. Judging from internal factor, self-efficacy is one of the variables involved in the smoothness of university student's thesis. While from external factor, supervisor support is considered essential for the smoothness of university student's thesis (Ratnawati, 2007). This study aims to find the relationship between self-efficacy and supervisor social support toward academic procrastination. Respondents in this study are a student at Udayana University as many as 98 students using simple random sampling as a sampling method. This study used content validity and reliability of Cronbach Alpha. Measured instruments used are the self-efficacy scale (18 items; rxx` = 0.780), supervisor social support scale (22 items; rxx` = 0.929) and academic procrastination scale (33 items; rxx` = 0.955). Data processed by multiple linear regression analysis. The results show there is a relationship between self-efficacy and supervisor social support toward Udayana University student academic procrastination (r = 0.695, p = 0.000). The coefficient of determination obtained at 0.483, which means the effective contribution of variables self-efficacy and social support to academic procrastination were 48.3%. Abstract

Anxiety before the National Exam often perceived by third grade high school students. Anxiety not only affect physical condition, but also student learning activities in school when preparing the National Exam. This study aims to find level differences of third grade high school student’s anxiety in Denpasar in terms of self-efficacy and participation in tutoring before the National Exam Subjects are 266 third grade high school students in Denpasar which consists of students who join and not join tutoring. The instrument of this research are anxiety and self-efficacy scale that has been tested the validity and reliability of the scale, with Cronbach's alpha values anxiety scale=0.807 and Cronbach's alpha values of self-efficacy scale=0.758. Results of analysis covariance showed F=66.953;p<0.05, which means participation in tutoring and self-efficacy contributes to third grade high school students’s anxiety in Denpasar towards the National Exam. Differences in student’s anxiety based on participation in tutoring significantly indicates p=0.000 (p<0.05;F=17.578), which means that there’s differences in the level of anxiety among students who participate and didn’t participate tutoring. While the interaction of self-efficacy as covariance with anxiety has a significance of p=0.000 (p<0.05;F=116.123) this showed that self-efficacy significantly interact with anxiety. The contribution of self-efficacy and participation in tutoring to anxiety showed the adjusted R square 0.332 which means that self-efficacy and participation in tutoring can explain the varians anxiety of student by 33.2%. Results also showed that participation in the tutoring does not guarantee lower levels of student’s anxiety. Keywords: Anxiety, Third Grade High School Students, Self Efficacy, Opt in Tutoring

Abstract

Education is an effort that deliberately, regularly runs and plans to modify or develop behavior which the environment wish for (Wahyuningsih, 2004). There are several problem in education, which is some students have learning difficulties. Student with above average level of intelligence but low achieving at school is called by underachiever. Academic achievement is result of learning processes that shown from the changes on knowledge and comprehension, value, attitude, and skill (Winkle, 1997). According to Suryabrata, Shertzer, and Stone (in Winkle, 1997), there are some psychological factors that influence academic achievement. Psychological factors that were studied in this research are adaptive behavior and emotional intelligence.This research is quantitative study using double regression technique. Subjects of this research are 47 underachiever students (n boys = 24; n girls = 23) who their age are between 11 to 15 year old. The sampling method is random cluster sampling. The data collection method uses Adaptive Behavior Scale (rxx = 0.983), Emotional Intelligence Scale (rxx = 0.870), and study report in odd semester.From hypothesis test with double regression technique, it is found that the correlational coefficient is 0.857, the regression coefficient is 0.735, the significant coefficient of the regression is 0.000, and the significant coefficient of independent variables are both 0.000 and 0.043. It shows that there is significant causal correlation between adaptive behavior and emotional intelligence with academic achievement, the adaptive behavior and emotional intelligence influences academic achievement as 73.5%. Abstract

Worked as commercial sex workers is very close to a variety of risks as a consequence, one of them is infected with a sexually transmitted infections. The impact of the disease can affect the sex workers from physical and psychological, so they need an adjustment to be able to adjust to the situation and their environment. Positive adjusment requires something named coping strategy, coping strategy is divided into two, first called emotional focused and second called problem focused coping. This study aims to research the relationship between adjustment and coping strategy in commercial sex workers infected sexually transmitted infections.Subjects in this study were 87 commercial sex workers in Denpasar area, between the age 20-55 years old. The instrument of this research is the scale of adjustment and scale of coping strategy that has been tested for validity and reability, the scale of adjusment value rxx = 0,977 and scale of coping strategy value rxx = 0,934.Results of Pearson’s product moment correlations show a correlations of 0,655 with a significants level 0,000 indicates there’s positive relationship between the adjustment to the coping strategy, while the R2 value of 0,429 indicates that the variable can explain the variable adjustment to variable coping strategy by 42,9%. Abstract

This research had been done in Bank Pembangunan Daerah Bali which is in the several branches have reduction of consumers saving percentage. In early of 2014, the asset position of BPD Bali was Rp. 14.763.000.000.000,00. But in facts said that the quantity of consumers saving have a significant reduction. It means, there are many consumers of Bank Pembangunan Daerah Bali are not satisfied with the services of the bank. The research goal is to find the empirical data about how much factors of service’s contribution to the consumers satisfaction of Bank Pembangunan Daerah Bali. This research used quantitative research method. The analysis method used discriminant analysis. The subject of the research is the consumers of Bank Pembangunan Daerah Bali, which have been chosen from 3 branches, those are Mangupura branch, Denpasar (Gajah Mada) branch, and Klungkung branch. Criterias of the subject are the consumers which in 20 until 60 years old and had been the consumers of Bank Pembangunan Daerah Bali more than a year. The technique of data collection is giving the questionaire of the consumers satisfaction scale to the consumers who are qualified. The result or the research show that there are three factors of services which has contribution to the satisfaction of Bank Pembangunan Daerah Bali consumers. Those factors are the physical evidence of service, responsiveness of service, and perception factor. The service factors that has the biggest contribution to the consumers satisfaction is physical evidence of service with relative contribution in the mount of 87,6%, it followed by the perception factors with relative contributin as big as 38,6%, and responsiveness of service with relative contribution in the mount of 30.8%. Believed that three aspects could predict the satisfaction level of the consumer together, with the same effective contribution as big as 52,6%. Abstract

Wanita Bali saat ini dihadapkan dengan berbagai macam pemenuhan peran yang kompleks. Disamping harus bekerja dan mengurus keluarga, wanita Bali juga berperan dalam mengikuti kegiatan sosial kemasyarakatan yang ada di Bali. Sehingga hal ini memunculkan konflik peran tersendiri bagi wanita Bali, salah satu konflik tersebut yaitu konflik kerja keluarga. Dampak dari konflik kerja keluarga yang dapat terjadi pada wanita Bali yaitu menurunkan motivasi kerja wanita Bali. Ketika wanita Bali mengalami konflik, maka individu tersebut akan mencari sumber-sumber positif yang ada disekitarnya untuk mengatasi dampak konflik yang dihadapinya. Salah satu sumber positif adalah dukungan sosial. Tujuan dari penelitian yaitu untuk melihat hubungan konflik kerja keluarga terhadap motivasi kerja dengan dukungan sosial sebagai variabel pemoderasi pada perawat wanita Bali di rumah sakit di Bali. Data dianalisis menggunakan model Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) dengan teknik uji residual melalui SPSS 17.0 for windows. Jumlah subjek pada penelitian ini 112 dengan kriteria wanita Bali yang bekerja sebagai perawat minimal satu tahun pada rumah sakit di Bali, telah menikah dan memiliki anak, serta berpendidikan minimal Sekolah Pendidikan Perawat (SPK) atau sederajat. Sampling menggunakan teknik sampling two stage cluster sampling. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan konflik kerja keluarga dengan dukungan sosial sebagai variabel pemoderasi dengan informasi nilai koefisisen variabel motivasi kerja parameter beta standardized negatif yaitu -0,143, akan tetapi nilai probabilitasnya tidak signifikan p = 0,134 (p>0,05). Dari hasil analisis diketahui bahwa dukungan sosial bukanlah variabel moderator, tetapi sebagai variabel prediktor yang mandiri. Abstract

Resiliensi adalah kemampuan seseorang untuk menilai, mengatasi, dan meningkatkan diri ataupun mengubah dirinya dari keterpurukan atau kesengsaraan dalam hidup yang membuat seseorang berhasil menyesuaikan diri dalam berhadapan dengan kondisi yang tidak menyenangkan. Kemampuan resiliensi dipengaruhi oleh keyakinan individu terhadap kemampuan yang dimiliki dalam menjalani suatu tugas. Di samping itu dorongan dari dalam diri individu untuk menjalani suatu tugas juga dapat mengembangkan kemampuan untuk beradaptasi dari keterpurukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat peran efikasi diri dan motivasi intrinsik terhadap resiliensi orangtua dengan anak berkebutuhan khusus pada Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB) di Bali. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 78 orangtua dengan anak berkebutuhan khusus pada SLB di Bali. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah two stage cluster sampling dalam probability sampling. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah skala resiliensi, skala efikasi diri dan skala motivasi intrinsik. Hasil yang diperoleh dari analisis regresi ganda menunjukkan nilai R=0,686 (p<0,05) dan koefisien determinasi sebesar 0,471, dengan demikian dapat disebutkan bahwa efikasi diri dan motivasi intrinsik secara bersama-sama berperan sebesar 47,1% dalam menjelaskan varian resiliensi orangtua dengan anak berkebutuhan khusus. Koefisien beta efikasi diri sebesar 0,340 dan siginifikansi 0,008 (p<0,05) menunjukkan efikasi diri ,berperan terhadap resliensi. Koefisien beta motivasi intrinsik sebesar 0,473 dan signifikansi 0,000(p<0,05) menunjukkan motivasi intrinsik berperan dalam menjelaskan varian resiliensi. Hal ini menunjukkan setiap kenaikan 0,340 pada efikasi diri dan 0,473 pada motivasi intrinsik, terjadi peningkatan 1 poin pada resiliensi orangtua dengan anak berkebutuhan khusus pada SLB di Bali. Abstract

Pendidikan memegang peran yang penting untuk dapat membantu anak untuk mengembangkan potensinya. Ketika belajar di sekolah, konsentrasi belajar menjadi salah satu faktor penentu prestasi belajar anak (Nisa, 2008 & Kintari, 2014). Kemampuan konsentrasi belajar anak pada usia Sekolah Dasar menjadi lebih selektif, beradaptasi, dan terencana ketika berhadapan dengan system pendidikan yang baik. Menurut Margolis (1990), relaksasi dapat mempengaruhi konsentrasi belajar. Yoga adalah aktivitas yang berfokus pada penyatuan tubuh dan pikiran melalui gerakan da nrelaksasi. Oleh karena itu peneliti ingin mengetahui pengaruh Yoga terhadap kemampuan konsentrasi belajar anak SD Negeri di Denpasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi-eksperimen dengan desain Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. Sampel diambil secara acak melalui teknik two stages cluster sampling hingga didapat subyek yang berada di kelas IV SD N 1 Padangsambian sebanyak 73 siswa. Tahap penelitian terdiri dari pre-test, perlakuan yoga (untuk kelompok eksperimen), dan post-test. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah kuisioner kemampuan konsentrasi belajar yang terdiri dari 24 aitem dengan reliabilitas 0.859. Yoga diberikan selama dua kali seminggu selama 8 sesi dengan durasi 1 jam. Analisis uji beda Independent Sample T-Test menunjukkan hasil yang signifikan (t = 2.390; p = 0.011 ? 0.05), yang artinya Ho ditolak. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Yoga memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan konsentrasi belajar siswa Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Denpasar.
