Abstract

The research aims to discover: (1) the characteristics of  socioeconomic life of fishermen community in Maitara Island Tidore Kepulauan City in Maluku Utara Province, (2) the survival strategy of fishermen community in Maitara Island Tidore Kepulauan City in Maluku Utara Province. The data were analyzed by using descriptive qualitative analysis to reveal the facts about Socioeconomic Life of Fishermen Community in Maitara Island Tidore Kepulauan City in Maluku Utara Province. The samples were taken by using purposive sampling method, namely taking samples based on certain considerations by the researcher such as choosing respondents who lived in the area of Maitara Island who worked as fisherman. The data were collected by using questionnaire in form of questions, observation, interview, and documentation. The results of the research reveal that (1) the characteristics of  socioeconomic life of fishermen community in Maitara Island from social perspective particularly in fishermen’s education who did not finish Primary School is 56.33 percent and the rest who finished Primary School is 30.98 percent, Junior High School is 9.85 percent and Senior High School is 2.81 percent. The aforementioned results clearly show of low education of fishermen community and from economic perspective of fishermen’s monthly income is 76.05 percent with the income range 1.500.000-2.500.000 and the rest are above 2.500.000 and even there  is below 1.500.000. It is due to low quality of human resources which influence their incomes and vice versa, if their incomes are low, then it would influence the human resources, namely low education. It can be seen that they could catch lots of fish but they could not manage it well due to low quality of human resources, (2) the survival strategies of fishermen community are conducting side jobs or job diversification empowering family, namely wife and children, in market to fulfill their families’ needs.

Abstract

 The Saluleang mangrove ecotourism area, Bebanga Village, Kalukku District, Mamuju Regency is a developed ecotourism area, the management carried out by the community and the lack of policy support has made Saluleang mangrove ecotourism not widely known by the public. Ecotourism is a form of management that can contribute to the environment and surrounding communities. This study aims to determine: 1) Forms of community participation in mangrove forest management in the development of the Saluleang ecotourism area 2) The level of community participation in mangrove forest management activities in developing ecotourism areas. The population in this study were all residents of Bebanga Village, amounting to 8006 people. The sample in this study amounted to 100 people. This research is quantitative descriptive. Data collection techniques include observation, questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis was performed using descriptive analysis and Likert scale. Based on the research results, the form of participation that was mostly carried out by the community was the form of participation in the form of labor, namely 44%. The level of community participation in ecotourism development is in the 27-30 interval with a very high category. The results of the test on the effect of community participation in the Saluleang Ecotourism Development were 75.60% and 24.40% were influenced by other factors outside the participation and development variables.

Abstract

 This study aims 1) to find out how the Ecological land condition of the Tourism area in Saleo Beach, South Waigeo District, Saonek Village, Raja Ampat Regency. 2) to find out the shape of the tourist area in Saleo Beach, South Waigeo District, Saonek Village, Raja Ampat Regency. Data collection is done by interviewing techniques and documentation. The analysis technique used is qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed: Physical condition of Saleo Beach The physical condition at Saleo beach is the highest tide of 1.58cm. And the average tidal range obtained is 0.95 m. The average wave height ranges from 0.08m-0.43m. with a current speed of 0.2m / s. With 100% water brightness with a depth of 350 cm and water temperature range of 27 ̊ -29 ̊ C, the depth of the Saleo coast 0-25 m. slope drought has a flat condition. So that the value of the physical parameters of Saleo beach as much as 85.71% is in the range obtained from 90 -100% into the category of very feasible (S). infrastructure and accessibility. In this case it is still lacking the comfort conditions for visitors who come and even though there are places to stay and some places to relax or rest on the beach. Thus the feasibility of Saleo Beach is included in the quite feasible category with the feasibility value.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) How is the community's participation in tourism development in Leang Kassi 2) What is the form of economic activities carried out by the community. The population in this study were all residents of Biraeng Village, amounting to 6778 people. The sample in this study amounted to 99 people. This research is a quantitative descriptive study. Data collection techniques include observation, questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis was performed by descriptive analysis and multiple regression equations. Based on the research results, the level of public knowledge of tourist objects is in the very agree category, namely 54.56%, for people's attitudes towards tourist objects is in the strongly agree category, namely 49%. Public participation in the economic activity category strongly agrees, namely 63%, economic activities in tourist objects are in the strongly agree category, namely 23.98%. The test results of the influence of tourism objects on economic activities, community participation on economic activities together are 16.90% and 83.10% are influenced by other factors outside the tourist attraction and participation variable factors.
