Abstract

Employees' performance is affected by some factors, such as, attitude of human resources, work management and mechanism, and facilities. This research is aimed at obtaining valid and reliable information related to the effect of leadership style, organizational culture, and work motivation on employees' performance or Regency/Municipal Offices of National Education in South Sulawesi Province. 135 respondents were chosen randomly using the formula of Cohen to be the samples of the study. The data were collected by survey technique and analyzed by path analysis. The data analysis and interpretation indicated that employees' performance is affected directly by leadership style, organizational culture, and work motivation. The findings lead to the conclusion that any changes occurred at the employees it could be affected by leadership style, organizational culture, and work motivation. It implies that leadership style, organizational culture, and work motivation should be improved in order to have better performance of employees of Regency/Municipal Offices of National Education in South Sulawesi Province besides other additional variabels.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to find out 1). To find out the inhibiting and supportingfactors in developing the Sunari Beach tourism object in Bontosikuyu District,Selayar Islands Regency. 2). To find out the development strategy of SunariBeach tourism object in Bontosikuyu District, Selayar Islands Regency. Thecollection of data using the method of observation, interviews and documentation. The sampling technique is accidental sampling. While for data analysis using descriptive analysis and SWOT analysis. Descriptive analysis is used to describe supporting and inhibiting factors in developing Sunari Beach tourism objects and SWOT analysis is used to find out strategies that can be done in the effort to develop Sunari Beach tourism object. SWOT analysis is also used to compare internal factors of strengths and weaknesses with external factors of opportunities and threats possessed by Sunari Beach attractions. The results of the study show that: the supporting factors that exist in the sunari beach attractions are the pristine, beautiful and comfortable natural scenery, the  availability of vacant land, the support of the community, the easy level of accessibility, and good security conditions. The inhibiting factors are  limited budget, promotion of tourism objects that have not been maximized, lack of professionals, no cooperation with the government,  lack of awareness of visitors in maintaining cleanliness. The strategies  that can be done include: 1) increasing tourism objects owned by sunari  beach because it has interesting views to be used as a photo spot. 2) Utilizing vacant land to build facilities and infrastructure. 3) Improve the security of the sunari coast. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui 1). Untuk mengetahui faktorpenghambat dan pendukung dalam upaya pengembangan objek wisata Pantai Sunari di Kecamatan Bontosikuyu Kabupaten Kepulauan Selayar. 2). Untuk mengetahui strategi pengembangan objek wisata Pantai Sunari di Kecamatan Bontosikuyu Kabupaten Kepulauan Selayar. Adapun pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu accidental sampling. Sedangkan untuk analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan analisis SWOT. Analisis deskriptif digunakan untuk mendeskriipsikan faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam upaya pengembangan objek wisata Pantai Sunari dan analisis SWOT digunakan untuk mengetahui strategi yang dapat dilakukan dalam upaya pengembangan objek wisata Pantai Sunari. Analisis SWOT juga digunakan untuk membandingkan antara faktor internal kekuatan dan kelemahan dengan faktor eksternal peluang dan ancaman yang dimiliki oleh objek wisata Pantai Sunari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : faktor pendukung yang ada pada objek wisata pantai sunari yaitu pemandangan alam yang masih asli, tersedianya lahan kosong, adanya dukungan dari masyarakat, tingkataksesibilitas yang mudah, dan kondisi keamanan yang baik. Adapun  faktor penghambat yaitu keterbatasan anggaran, promosi objek wisata yang belum maksimal, kurangnya tenaga profesional, belum ada kerjasama dengan pemerintah, kurangnya kesadaran para pengunjung dalam menjaga kebersihan Adapun strategi yang dapat dilakukan diantaranya: 1)meningkatkan objek wisata yang dimiliki pantai sunari karena memiliki pemandangan yang menarik untuk dijadikan sebagai spot foto. 2) Memanfaatkan lahan yang kosong untuk membangun sarana dan prasarana yang. 3) Meningkatkan keamanan objek wisata pantai sunari.

Abstract

This research aims to determine: 1) Overview of the socio-economic life of the copra workers’ household, 2) How much the contribution of copra workers toward the household income in Kalaotoa village. The technique of analysis data was used is descriptive statistics to describe the socio-economic life and the contribution of copra workers.The results showed that: 1) The average of copra workers that had married at the rate 58.62 percent, workers who had graduated from senior high school level was 42.56 percent, workers who had graduated from junior high school  was 28.82 percent, workers who had graduated from elementary school  was 16.04 percent, workers who had not graduated from elementary school  was 9.13 percent, and the lowest rate is the worker who had graduated from college as much as 3.55 percent. The Income had earned from occupation as copra worker as much of 960.000 rupiah/month, expenditures of copra workers in a month is as much of 731.000 rupiah,. household members of copra workers at the rate of 43.61 percent consists of 1-3 people, 4-6 people at the rate of 31.03 percent, and the lowest is 7-9 people at the rate of 25.36 percent, while the number of copra workers’ dependency were 3-5 people at the rate of 42.55 percent, 0-2 people at the rate of 39.06 percent, and 6-8 people only at the rate of 18.39 percent. Meanwhile, the working hours did not affect the household income of copra workers because they whom worked half day were from the same household dependency. 2) The contributions of copra workers toward household income in Kalaotoa village indicates that the contribution of copra workers on household income is as much as 10.04 percent/month.

Abstract

This study aims: 1) to know the aspects that can be developed as a natural tourist attraction in Sanrobengi Island. 2) to know the public perception of the development of natural attractions in Sanrobengi Island. 3) to know the prospect of developing natural attractions in Sanrobengi Island. Objects in this study are tourists and the public. The data presented in the form of primary data taken from the questionnaire "Prospect of Sanrobengi Island Tourism Object Development in Boddia Village Galesong District Takalar District". Informant retrieval was taken using accidental sampling technique and purposive sampling technique. Data analysis used is qualitative descriptive analysis and SWOT analysis.The results show that the appropriate development strategy in the development of Sanrobengi Island as a natural tourist attraction is a strategy of Strength - Opportunities. The conclusions obtained include: physical aspect and social aspects strongly support the development of Sanrobengi Takalar Island as a natural tourist attraction. Public and tourist perceptions of natural attractions that agree to do more development. The development strategy that can be done include developing interest tourism, enhancing cooperation between central and local government, making promotion through website, banner, and billboards, local people's role in developing tourist object such as boat service utilization as well as maintaining and maintaining coral reef habitat environment.

Abstract

The research aims to discover (1) the students’ learning motivation in Geography at SMA Frater Makassar, (2) the description of Geography learning results at SMA Frater Makassar, (3) the relation between the use of inquiry based learning model on the improvement of the students’ learning motivations at SMA Frater Makassar, (4) the relation between the use of inquiry based learning model on the improvement of the students’ learning results at SMA Frater Makassar. The data were collected by using observation method about the students and teachers’ activities and learning result test in each of learning cycle. The data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics analysis technique. The results of the research reveal that (1) the students’ learning motivation in Geography learning seemed to be excited, innovative, and creative in asking questions, (2) the descripton of Geography learning results in cycle I, the students’ learning results who reached classical completeness is 69 percent and in cycle II increase to 86 percent, (3) the relation of the use of inquiry based learning model, there is relation between learning model and the students’ learning motivation where inquiry based learning model emphasized more in group discussion, (4) the relation of the use of inquiry based learning model was seen in students and teachers’ activities on inquiry based learning model shows improvement.

Abstract

The objectives of the research are : (i) Describe the slum in Mariso Village of Mariso Sub-District in Makassar City, (ii) Analyze the activities of the people in slum area in Mariso Village of Mariso Sub-District in Makassar City, (iii) Analyze the socioeconomic characteristics of the people in slum area in Mariso Village of  Mariso Sub-District in Makassar City. The research employed descriptive approach systematically, factually, and accurately. The data were collected through interview and documentation study technique. The results of the research reveal taht is slum in the area based on the variables which are measured in the location of the research : (i) The description of slum in Mariso Village in RW 3 and RW 7 with the slum level is in medium category. It is because each of RW analyzed had the same slum variables, (ii) The people’s activities in Mariso Village are in the forms of voluntary works, accepting helps from central or local goverment, and several forms of social competition, (iii) The socioeconomic characteristics in Mariso Village are the education level of the heads of household are still low because most of them only graduated in Primary School level. It also gives great impact on the level of incomes of  the respondents where the incomes of the heads of households are approximately 250.000 to 500.000 IDR, thus, the fulfillment of their daily needs sometimes cannot be fulfilled, except for food only.

Abstract

This research aims to determine: 1) Form of implementation of Curriculum 2013. 2) Problematic of teacher in implementation of Curriculum 2013. 3) Efforts made to overcome problematic of teacher in implementation of Curriculum 2013. Collecting data in this research using observation techniques, interview and documentation, and analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. Result showed that: 1) Implementation of Curriculum 2013 with competence graduates covering aspects of attitudes, knowledge, and skills; using the student-oriented learning process, applying scientific approach. 2) In process of implementing curriculum in 2013 there are still many problems experienced teachers such as; curriculum changes in lesson plans; lack understanding function lesson plans; lack computers control develop lesson plans; lack preparation time in design lesson plans; social studies material presented integrated; distribution school books is not equitable; learning materials source limited; student worksheet function is not maximized; facilities learning media limited; lack mastery computer learning media; there are difficult in authentic assessment; format change in report book; social studies integrated textbooks still lack in library; computer laboratory not functionalized; lack extra facilities in class. 3) Efforts are being made to overcome the problematic of teachers, transform thoughts to mindset Curriculum 2013; seek school headmaster more attention and motivate teachers; followed socialization and training related Curriculum 2013 even harder; improve socialization relationships among teachers; self motivate to be passionate; utilizing resources reference books as well possible; studying computer science and information technology; and pursue school to provide and improve infrastructure and facilities to support learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan sistem full day school di SMAN 11 Makassar. Metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, subjek penelitian yaitu kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah bagian kurikulum, wakil kepala sekolah bagian hubungan masyarakat, wakil kepala sekolah bagian kesiswaan, guru, dan peserta didik. Teknik sampling yaitu purposive sampling, snowball sampling, dan insidental sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu observasi partisipan, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi dan uji keabsahan data. Hasil penelitian yaitu implementasi full day school di SMAN 11 Makassar melebihi ketetapkan waktu dalam Permendikbud No 23 Tahun 2017. Pelaksanaan full day school terdiri dari kegiatan harian, mingguan, insidental, dan tahunan. Faktor penghambat yaitu sarana dan prasarana, kurangnya inovasi pembelajaran, latar belakang peserta didik, jumlah guru dan siswa belum sebanding, sekolah belum bekerjasama lembaga pendidikan, dan kelelahan. Faktor pendukung yaitu sarana proyektor tiap guru, dan sarana laboratorium fisika, kimia, biologi, komputer, dan bahasa.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) the role of paseng ri ade’ local wisdom in forest conservation efforts, 2) the form of preservation of indigenous peoples’ forest, 3) the form of empowerment of the Karampuang indigenous people in forest conservation efforts. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews with the selection of informants using purposive sampling, and documentation. Data analysis is done by examining all available data from various sources, namely the results of observations, interviews, field notes, documents. After that reduce data, expose data and conclusions. The results showed that 1) paseng ri ade’ was a source of informal rules applied to the Karampuang indigenous people so that they managed and utilized the forest using traditional practices. This form of preservation is the existence of a broad range of community rights in the utilization of forest products, has a certain way of taking forest products and behaving in accordance with applicable norms. 2)The form of forest preservation carried out by the indigenous Karampuang are, namely planting trees, reporting on violations, mainting karama’s forest and building permanent house. 3) Community empowerment carried out by the government, namely KBD (Village Seed Farming), community skills training, PRONA, ecotourism development, as well as involvement of traditional leaders in decision making at the village office.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the application of the Treffinger learning model can improve student learning outcomes in geography learning in class X SMA 7 Sinjai.  This research method uses pretest posttest control group design experimental research.  The subjects in this study were two classes of IPS X in SMA Negeri 7 Sinjai namely X IPS 1 and X IPS 2. The data analysis technique in the study used SPSS 22 for windows.  For the hypothesis test the t-test (independent samples t test) is used.  The results showed that the Treffinger model affected the learning outcomes in learning geography of class X IPS students of SMA Negeri 7 Sinjai.  This shows Ho was rejected and Hi was accepted.  The gain score of students' learning outcomes using the Treffinger model is better (8.97) than students who do not use the model (1.41).  Suggestions for teachers, the use of this learning model can be done as an alternative model to improve student learning outcomes.  Further research is also recommended to: a) test the effect of applying the Treffinger learning model to other variables and to locations, levels of education, or other material;  and b) integrate or compare with other learning models to be used as alternative learning models in schools.  Quasi (Quasi Experiment) with design.
