Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of learning independence and the use of learning resources that occur thus might affect the level of student learning outcomes. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence or absence of positive and significant relationships between learning independence and the use of learning resources with students’ mathematics learning outcomes in class VIII of even semester in SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Yogyakarta Academic of 2015/2016. The population in this study was all VIII class students as much 7 classes by total students 212. The sample was taken with a random sampling technique and derived class VIII B as a class sample with 27 students. Data collection technique used to test techniques to determine the result of mathematics learning outcomes and questioner techniques to determine the learning independence and use of learning resources. Instrument testing used validity and reliability testing. The technic to analysis test which is a test of homogeneity, normality, independent, and linearity test. Analysis of the data for testing hypotheses used correlation analysis and linear regression analysis. The results showed that F_count= 5,608648681 and F_table= 3,40 so F_count≥F_table which means there is a positive and significant relationship between learning independence and use of learning resources that occur thus might affect the level of student learning outcomes, with a coefficient of determination (r) = 0,5643728384 and ŷ = -23,63 + 0,49x1+ 0,76x2. The value of Relatively contribution of X1 = 32,645%, X2= 67,355% and value of effectively contribution of X1 = 10,398%, X2= 21,454%.

Abstract

Lack of attention of students for teacher’s explanation in learning influence student’s learning outcomes mathematics. One of media learning who focus on student’s attention are using software GeoGebra. The purpose of research to know The Efectivenest Geogebra Software as Mathematics Learning Media  Toward Student Mathematics Learning Outcomes in Class VIII at SMP 2 Sukoharjo of Wonosobo Regency on the Even Semester Of Academic Year 2015/2016. The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMP 2 Sukoharjo Wonosobo Regency on the even Semester Academic Year 2015/2016. Who consists of three class in totally 86 students. This sample research was the VIII D class for experiment class and VIIIC controlling class selected as random sampling for class. The data collection method uses the test method. Instrument research was mathematics learning outcomes. Data analysis used the hypothesis test. The result of research by using 5% extend significantly and the degrees of freedom are 39, that's point are : (1) there differences of mathematics learning outcomes that using software GeoGebra learning media without use software geogebra.it’s pointed in    . In order that  and (2) mathematics learning used software GeoGebra as learning media more effective than learning compared without use software GeoGebra. It’s a point of   in order that   .

Abstract

Monotonous and teacher-centered learning makes students passive and lacks the courage to express opinions in teaching and learning activities. Therefore, an appropriate model is needed to encourage student activeness, which is with model-eliciting activities. This study aims to determine whether there is a difference between learning by using model-eliciting activities and traditional class models. This model is more effective between the two models of the learning model on student learning outcomes. The population in this study consisted of class VII Muhammadiyah Junior High School Banguntapan (SMP Muhammadiyah Banguntapan), which consists of five classes. A sample of 2 classes with the number of 60 students was taken by purposive technique and obtained class VII C as the experimental class and class VII D as control class. The research instrument is a problem-solving test with data analysis using a two-part hypothesis test and a one-party hypothesis test. The results of a hypothesis test of the experimental class with a significant level of 5% and df=58 showed that: (1) There was a difference between students' problem-solving abilities using learning model eliciting activities with problem-solving skills of students learning using traditional class models and (2) eliciting activities model more effectively than traditional class models of problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

Mathematics learning at SMP Negeri 15 Yogyakarta used speech method and given questions that impact making students bored when mathematics learning. Used the wrong model to make students are challenging to develop and also to the learning outcome. So, we need the right model. The model is an MMP and cooperative learning type NHT. This research aims to find a significant difference between the use of MMP learning with the use of cooperative learning type NHT, which is better MMP learning than NHT cooperative learning to the student's mathematics learning outcome. This research population was the seventh degree of SMP Negeri 15 Yogyakarta consisting of ten classes and two classes as the sample with random sampling. The sample is VII B as the experiments A with MMP learning and VII D as the experiment B with cooperative learning type NHT. The research instrument used was a mathematics learning outcome, and analysis used validity, distinguishing capacity, and reliability. The data analysis used was the t-test two parties and one party. Based on the analysis of the first hypothesis test on mathematics learning outcome with a significance level of 5% and 65 degrees of freedom is obtained  so  then there is a significant difference between the use MMP learning with the use cooperative learning type NHT. The second test with a significance level of 5% and 65 degrees of freedom is obtained , so  then MMP learning better than NHT cooperative learning to the student's mathematics learning outcome.

Abstract

 The use of a group learning model that has not varied and the students’ role which less active in the learning process can influence the students learning outcome so that it is important to choose an innovative learning model where the students can involve in the learning process actively. The problem underlying the research by using a cooperative learning model which its types namely Number Head Together (NHT) and Group Investigation (GI). This research is conduct to know the effectiveness of cooperative learning model types NHT and GI toward the students of SMP Muhammadiyah Pleret grade VII in the academic year of 2015/2016. The population of this research was the student’s grade VII of SMP Muhammadiyah Pleret in the academic year of 2015/2016. The sample collecting technique used in this research was random sampling and grade VII A was chosen as the class which is given cooperative learning with the NHT type and grade VII C as the class that using cooperative learning which is the type namely GI. The data collecting technique used test technique. The research instrument in this research was the mathematic result test which is the objective questions as the test questions. The instrument test includes validity, different power, and reliability. The data analyzing technique used the prerequisite test analysis which consists of a normality test and homogeneity test. The hypothesis test used a one-tailed t-test and a two-tailed t-test. Based on the calculation of the two-tailed t-test with  significance level  α = 5% and 55 degrees of freedom obtained and  and then  it means there are differences in the mathematic result study between students who use cooperative learning model types NHT with the students who use GI. One-tailed t-test with significance level α = 5% and 55 degrees of freedom obtained  = 2,125403947 and  so   in conclusion, the student’s mathematic learning outcome who uses cooperative learning model NHT is more effective than GI.

Abstract

In this research less of the result of the study mathematic of students are thought with many factors such as independent learning, peer interaction and attention from their parents. This study aims to determine whether there is a positive and significant relationship between independent learning, peer interaction, and attention parents with math learning outcomes eighth-grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah Tempuran Magelang in odd semester in academic year 2016/2017. The populations of this study were all students of class VIII consisted of 4 classes with a total of 90 students. Samples were taken using a random sampling technique. The data collection techniques used the non-test technique by a questionnaire and tests. The test research instruments were: validity tests, different power tests, and reliability tests. The test requirements analysis consisted of a normality test, linearity test, and independence test. The data analysis used product moment analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the study showed that there was a positive and significant correlation between learning independence, peer interaction, and parents’ attention to the math learning outcomes with R2 = 0,26965, Fcountt= 3,19982 while Ftable= 2,98 thus obtained Fcoun  Ftable and  multiple regression equation  and SR = , SR = , SR =  and SE = , SE =  and SE = .

Abstract

Low student learning outcomes associated with many factors. Learning discipline, students' self-confidence, and peers are some of the factors possibly related to learning outcomes. This research aims to determine the presence or absence of positive and significant relationships between learning discipline, student's self-confidence, and peers with Mathematics Learning Outcomes in Students Class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Srandakan District Bantul in Odd Semester Academic Year of 2016/2017. The population in this research was the students of VIII SMP Negeri 1 Srandakan District Bantul in odd semester academic year of 2016/2017, consisted of class VIII A, VIII B, VIII C, VIII D, VIII E, and VIII F, totaling 184 students. Samples were taken from VIII E as the research sample class and with the random sampling technique. The writer uses a questionnaire method to collect the data of learning discipline, the student's self-confidence, and peers and test method to get the resulting learning of math. The research instrument: validity test, different power test, and reliability test. Test requirement analysis includes a test of normality, a test of linearity, and independence. The writer uses product-moment correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis to analyze the data. The results showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between learning discipline, student's self- confidence, and peers with mathematics learning outcomes in students class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Srandakan District Bantul in odd semester Academic Year of 2016/2017. It is showed by Fcount  Ftable is  with R = 0,5649 and R2 = 0,3191 with ,with RC ,RC  and RC , EC , EC and EC .

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi (HOTS) memiliki peranan penting bagi siswa terutama di abad 21. HOTS dipandang sebagai kemampuan dasar yang wajib dikembangkan terutama pada pembelajaran matematika. Oleh karena itu penting bagi calon guru pendidikan matematika untuk mengembangkan kemampuan HOTS. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan HOTS mahasiswa pendidikan matematika Universitas Ahmad Dahlan dalam mengerjakan soal HOTS pada mata kuliah geometri. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Ada sebanyak 3 orang mahasiswa yang telah mengambil mata kuliah geometri ruang dengan kemampuan matematika yang berbeda-beda. Instrument yang digunakan yaitu kuesioner berupa 5 soal geometry ruang berbasis HOTS. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu bahwa mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami soal dan menentukan strategi yang akan digunakan. Beberapa mahasiswa juga kesulitan dalam menggambarkan situasi objek geometri pada soal.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan koneksi matematis pada siswa SMP yang memiliki kecerdasan intrapersonal tinggi, sedang, dan rendah dalam memecahkan masalah segitiga dan lingkaran. Sedangkan ruang lingkup penelitian ini meliputi siswa kelas VII di salah satu SMP Negeri di Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan analisis data deskriptif model Miles dan Huberman yang memuat reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa subjek dengan kecerdasan intrapersonal tinggi dan rendah memenuhi seluruh indikator koneksi matematis yaitu mengenali dan menghubungkan di antara ide-ide matematika, serta mengaplikasikan ide matematika dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Sedangkan subjek kecerdasan intrapersonal sedang hanya memenuhi satu indikator koneksi matematis, yaitu mengenali dan menghubungkan antar ide-ide matematika namun belum lengkap.

Abstract

Coronaviruses disease (Covid-19) pandemic forces schools to implement schools from home through online learning. This study aims to describe online mathematics learning, examine differences in aspects of spatial reasoning, and spatial reasoning based on gender. We conducted a survey method on 140 participants in one private junior high school in Yogyakarta. Data collection using an spatial reasoning test via Google Form consist of nine questions and direct interview with a teacher through video conference. Data analysis uses descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed that online mathematics learning using the Google Form platform can assist students with limited facilities in learning process. The research finding showed no difference in spatial reasoning ability between male and female students, including in each aspect of spatial reasoning. In addition, other findings indicate that the aspect of spatial reasoning that students master the most is spatial visualization, while the aspect of spatial reasoning that is the least mastered by students is spatial relations.
