Abstract

Water energy is energy that comes from water flow which is used to produce electricalenergy by using a flow of water that flows to turn a turbine, then the turbine is connected to agenerator. Micro-hydro power plants are usually built in areas that have the potential for generatingelectricity in a small capacity. The choice of location of a micro hydro power plant is largelydetermined by the potential for water fall or often called a waterfall. Parameters that can be changedto improve turbine efficiency are the shape of the turbine blade, turbine blade volume, nozzle angle,and nozzle position. The method used is the method of observation by observing and testing directlyand the method of literature by studying the literature - literature from several references.Performance characteristics of nest-lie turbines produce higher torque values than triangular turbineblades. Nest-lie turbine produces a torque value of 0.0076 Nm at position 450 nozzle and nozzle angle100. This shows that the nest-lie turbine has characteristics that are better than a triangular turbineblade.

Abstract

The purpose of the Economic Dispatch is to determine the distribution of each unit inproviding the requested load, so that the load demand can be met at the lowest possible cost takinginto account the limitations of the generator and available system. Commonly the researcher usesome methods to solve economic dispatch, such as Lagrange, Genetic Algorithm (GA), and othersoptimization methods. Latest Artificial Intelligent technology had invented the solution to solve theoptimization problem especially for economic dispatch, its named Imperialist Competitive Algorithm(ICA) which in this project, ICA become the solution to solve economic dispatch problem in Bali 150kV interconnection system. The simulation result the compared by the result using Lambda Iterationand Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) method. Simulation result show that the ICA method is ableto provide a better solution in Bali 150 kV interconnection system. The difference in generation costsbetween the Imperialist Competitive Algorithm (ICA) method and the Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO) method is 1685.19 $/h or savings are made at 0.24%. While the difference in generation costsbetween the Imperialist Competitive Algorithm (ICA) method with the Lambda Iteration method is7116.45 $/h or savings are made at 1.03%.

Abstract

The increasing need for electrical energy every year results in the availability of energysources is dwindling. Therefore, the need for energy conservation to streamline the use ofelectrical energy without reducing its comfort or productivity. The main factor of energyconservation is energy auditing. Plasa Telkom Teuku Umar is a company engaged intelecommunications. The convenience of employees and customers takes precedence overthis0company.0The best service0must also be followed by the efficient use of facilities. For thisreason, an electrical energy audit is needed. In this study, it was attached0to theair0conditioning0system and lighting system. It is attached to the air conditioning system andlighting system. Tools0that can be0used for measurement in the field are Lux Meter, (lightintensity measurement), Tang Ampere (electric current measurement), and Thermometer (roomtemperature measurement). The study was conducted by0calculating and comparing0electricalenergy consumption in lighting and air conditioning systems between before and after anenergy audit. Calculate the pre- and post-audit IKE (Energy Consumption Intensity) andcompare it to the IKE standard. The results of the study found energy savings of 36.06%. Fromelectricity usage of 16.86 kWh/m2/bln pre audit to 10.78 kWh/m2/mo post audit.

Abstract

Pusat Listrik Tenaga Diesel Gas (PLTDG) Pesanggaran menjadi salah satu pembangkit yang ada di Bali yangmempunyai posisi penting dalam sistem 150 kV Bali, kinerja kestabilan dari PLTDG Pesanggaran saat terjadigangguan merupakan hal krusial yang perlu diperhatikan. Pendekatan model SMIB untuk analisa kestabilanpada PLTDG Pesanggaran digunakan untuk memudahkan analisa, dengan cara mereduksi sistem multimesinmenjadi SMIB dengan Losses Concept. Dari hasil simulasi model tersebut diperoleh hasil bahwa nilai overshootdan settling time dari tanggapan perubahan sudut rotor dan tanggapan frekuensi pada model SMIB PLTDGPesanggaran.

Abstract

Modern electrical systems are characterized by extensive interconnection systemswith the need for electrical energy and control depending on the control system. Oneelectricity system that has been widely interconnected is the Bali electricity system. The Balisystem using island mode has four generating units that can supply electrical energy needsincluding UP Pesanggaran, UP Celukan Bawang, UP Gilimanuk and UP Pemaron. But itmust be remembered in supplying electrical energy needs are also affected by the constantchange in load, resulting in instability in the electrical system. So the need for a controlsystem that can increase the value of damper such as the Power System Stabilizer (PSS). PSScan be used to reduce frequency oscillations when interference occurs, but for PSS design itgives less good performance in different operating conditions. Problems with PSS occur dueto errors in modeling, input value input, and topology variations. Efforts are made to reduceerrors in PSS by using methods that are expected to overcome this problem, namely the fuzzylogic controller.The results of the analysis show that the system performance index usingfuzzy logic is 78.6064. Fuzzy logic has the ability to damp better and reduce errors better.

Abstract

Energy audit is a technique used to determine the amount of energy use in a buildingand to find various energy-saving solutions or opportunities. In this study, the energy audit wasconducted at PT. Graha Sarana Duta II Denpasar which is located on Jl. Serma Gede No. 13,Dauh Puri Klod, Denpasar. Based on the existing conditions, the level of Energy ConsumptionIntensity (IKE) obtained before the audit was carried out was 245.22 kWh/m2/year or 20.43kWh/m2/month which according to ESDM No. 13/2012, Air-conditioned buildings are in thewasteful category. In this study, the energy audit focuses on the lighting system and airconditioning system. The method used in this research is to calculate and analyze theconsumption of electrical energy in the lighting system and air conditioning system. After doingthe research, it can be seen the energy saving opportunities (PHE) in PT. Graha Sarana Duta IIDenpasar by replacing the TL and SL lamps using LED lamps and requiring room users to turnoff the air conditioner when the room is not in use, the result is savings 11,4% in electricalenergy use, where the IKE after the audit is 18.1 kWh/m2/month. The office can also save thecost of using electrical energy, which is Rp. 3,170,394,- every month.

Abstract

Metode pelacakan titik daya maksimum (MPPT) yang efisien memainkan peran penting untuk meningkatkan efisiensi sistem pembangkit fotovoltaik (PV). Studi ini memberikan tinjauan tentang status metode MPPT saat ini untuk sistem PV yang diklasifikasikan ke dalam tiga kategori. Kategorisasi didasarkan pada karakteristik pelacakan dari metode yang dibahas. Pada penelitian ini juga dilakukan perbandingan antar metode MPPT berdasarkan tiga parameter yaitu waktu konvergensi, tingkat osilasi, dan efisiensi sebagai acuan pemilihan metode untuk membuat analisis yang komprehensif. Tinjauan literatur yang dijelaskan dalam penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai referensi untuk mengatasi kesenjangan untuk penelitian lebih lanjut di bidang ini. Tinjauan komparatif dalam bentuk tabel juga disajikan di akhir pembahasan setiap kategori untuk mengevaluasi kinerja metode ini, yang akan membantu dalam memilih teknik yang sesuai untuk aplikasi tertentu. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah metode konvensional unggul pada waktu tracking yang cepat sedangkan metode metaheuristic unggul pada efisiensi dan osilasi yang rendah.

Abstract

This paper presents a harmonic reduction and load imbalance model in a three-phase four-wire distribution network. This model uses a hybrid active power filter, a passive inductor and capacitor filter, and an active power filter in the form of a three-phase, four-leg connected grid inverter. The switching of the voltage source converter on this filter uses finite control set model predictive control (FCS-MPC). Control of this hybrid active power filter uses model predictive control (MPC) with a cost function, comparing the reference current and prediction current with mathematical modelling of the circuit. The reference current is taken from the load current by extracting dq, and the predicted current is obtained from the iteration of the voltage source converter (VSC) switching pattern. Each combination is compared with the reference current in the cost function to get the smallest error used as a power switching signal. Modelling was validated by using MATLAB Simulink. The simulation results prove a decrease in harmonics at a balanced load from 22.16% to 4.2% and at an unbalanced load, reducing the average harmonics to 4.74%. The simulation also decreases the load current imbalance in the distribution network. Reducing the current in the neutral wire from 62.01%-0.42% and 11.29-0.3 A.

Abstract

Biomass is one of the materials that can be utilized as fuel. To ensure optimal quality, effective management of biomass is required to maximize its potential. One possible approach is the application of a biomass stove fueled by rubber wood pellets. By integrating a thermoelectric generator, data can be obtained to determine whether all aspects meet the established standards. This system is designed to generate electrical energy from combustion heat, supported by components such as a buck-boost converter and a 3V DC lamp. Testing was carried out using proximate and ultimate analyses on the fuel as well as the Water Boiling Test (WBT) on the stove, referring to SNI 8021:2020 and SNI 8021:2014 standards. The results showed that rubber wood pellets contained 7.64% moisture and had a calorific value of 4050 kcal/kg. The stove demonstrated an efficiency of 23.53%–37.28% and a fuel consumption rate of 0.61–0.77 kg/hour, both of which meet the requirements. In addition, the thermoelectric generator produced a voltage of 3.6 V and an electric current of 0.05 A, which are higher than those reported in previous studies (2.06 V and 0.01 A, respectively). Therefore, this thermoelectric biomass stove system is considered successful and feasible for further development as an alternative energy application.

Abstract

Indoor temperature and humidity control plays an important role in creating a comfortable and energy-efficient environment, especially in tropical areas such as Denpasar, Bali. Manual use of air conditioners (AC) is often less than optimal because it does not consider the actual environmental conditions as a whole. This study designs an AC control automation system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) concept that can be controlled via a web interface. This system combines several sensors, such as LM35 for temperature, DHT22 for humidity, and PIR for motion detection, and is controlled by an Arduino UNO microcontroller. In addition, data transmission is carried out via the HM-10 Bluetooth module and a web-based monitoring interface built using the Python programming language. The developed system is able to display temperature, humidity, and user presence data in real time, and automatically regulates AC operation based on these environmental conditions. Tests show that the LM35 sensor has an error of 1,42% and the DHT22 sensor is 0.73%, with an effective range of PIR and IR sensors of up to 4 meters. Overall, this system has succeeded in saving AC energy consumption by up to 35.49%. Based on these results, this system is considered feasible to be applied in real environments as an efficient and adaptive temperature control solution.
