Abstract

Bali Province is not endowed with natural resources to drive its economy, but rather relies heavily on tourism as its leading sector in achieving economic growth. Against the backdrop of Bali's heavy dependence on tourism, it is necessary to conduct an analysis on how to survive the fierce tourism competition. There are mainly four strategies for attracting investments, tourists and industries into a region, namely: image, which is a set of beliefs, ideas and expressions that a person has towards a region; attraction marketing, which is attraction of a tourist destination; infrastructure marketing, which is the availability of facilities and infrastructures that can attract people, investments and capital; and people marketing, which is a strategy to market a region by marketing the attitudes of its people: how open the local community is to foreign influences (people, investments, industries and products). This study finds that image, infrastructure marketing, attraction marketing and people marketing have positive and significant effects on the interest of foreign tourists to revisit Bali. The results of this study provide a comprehensive picture for the government and related parties in formulating tour packages to attract foreign tourists to revisit Bali.

Abstract

The industrial sector can develop with government policies and trade between countries. Industrialization plays an important role in improving the quality of human resources and optimally utilizing natural and other resources. To analyze the effect of government policies partially on exports of four- and six-wheeled CBU vehicles in Indonesia from 2015 to 2019. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar partially and simultaneously on exports of four and six-wheel CBU vehicles in Indonesia in 2015. 2015 to 2019. The type of data used is quantitative data, with the data source being secondary data. The analysis technique used in this study uses multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that simultaneously government policy variables, exchange rates, and world oil prices have a significant effect on the value of Indonesia's CBU exports in 2014-2019, and partially government policy variables and world oil prices have a positive and significant effect on Indonesia's CBU exports. While the exchange rate variable has a negative and significant effect on Indonesian CBU. This means that if the exchange rate of the rupiah against the dollar increases or the strengthening of the value of the dollar against the rupiah will cause a decrease in the price of exported goods, the value of export goods will also decrease.

Abstract

A market that has only two to a few strong players in the market is called an oligopoly market. The players in the oligopoly market are highly dependent on each other. Several types of businesses in Bali have an oligopoly market structure with a limited number of actors and have the power to set the bid price. One of them is white water rafting on the Telaga Waja river which consists of several companies and can be categorized into an oligopoly market structure. In a tight oligopoly market structure, the leading company acts arbitrarily in setting prices. This study wants to find out whether the net price for rafting is rational and above the BEP price and wants to see the behavior of companies in price and non-price competition in the Telaga Waja River rafting business, Karangasem Bali. The results showed that there was no agreement in determining the net price in the Telaga Waja rafting industry. They compete on non-price by holding massive promotions and differentiating rafting products which results in higher costs incurred and reduces profits. The results of the study provide an overview to the relevant agencies, rafting entrepreneurs and water tourism associations in formulating the most appropriate price and promotion packages for the rafting industry to face competition and maintain the sustainability of the rafting business on the Telaga Waja River, Karangasem Regency, Bali.

Abstract

Capital is one of the factors that has an important role in the production process, because it is needed when an entrepreneur wants to establish a new company or to expand an existing business. Information technology can be maximally utilized to accelerate productivity in a business. This study aims to determine the simultaneous and partial effect of capital, information technology, and working hours on the income of SMEs in the trading sector in East Denpasar District by using a non-probability sampling technique, namely purposive sampling using the Slovin formula so that obtained as many as 93 samples. The results showed that simultaneously all independent variables have a significant effect on the dependent variable. Partially the variables of capital, information technology, and working hours have a positive and significant effect on the income of MSME players in the trading sector in East Denpasar District.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the economy of Indonesia has weakened and contracted, although currently, the economy has recovered from it. The economy of Bali has experienced its lowest growth of all time. This is due to the huge impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on tourism in Bali, which is its economic locomotive. The data used is secondary data with panel data analysis to analyze 9 districts/cities in Bali Province in the 2010-2019 period. The analysis technique used is the random effect model (REM) to analyze multiple linear regression, using the classical assumption test, as well as the beta regression coefficient test simultaneously and partially. The results of this study indicate that the GRDP level variable has a positive and significant effect on the level of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). Meanwhile, labor wages and political risk variables have a negative and significant effect on the level of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). Based on the results of the study, it is suggested to the Government to optimize the potential of each region in order to overcome the gaps between regions.
