Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Perceived Organizational Support on Organizational Citizenship Behavior with the work engagement variable as a mediator at the Palembang City Tourism Office. Samples were taken as many as 63 employees. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires using a 5-point Likert scale to measure 22 statement items. The analysis technique used is Path Analysis. The results of the analysis show that Perceived Organizational Support has a positive and significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior, Perceived Organizational Support. This study also succeeded in proving that Perceived Organizational Support has an effect on Organizational Citizenship Behavior mediated by Work Engagement at the Palembang City Tourism Office. Based on the results of research analysis, several suggestions can be used as consideration in determining future policies, namely, the Office should pay more attention to any complaints felt by employees so that it will create a sense of meaning and feelings of pleasure and employees feel considered necessary by the service.

Abstract

This study examines the progressivity of judges in deciding cases without the presence of the litigants (Verstek) which is linked to the fulfillment of women's rights in the Samarinda Religious Court and the Sagata Religious Court. This is because almost 80% of divorce case trials in the Religious Courts are not attended by the parties; So the case was decided by the judge through Verstek. This study was conducted to find out the influence of a Judge's progressivity on protecting the rights of women (wives) after divorcing their husbands. This research is a documentation study carried out by examining several Judges' decisions which were decided in Verstek both in cases of talaq divorce (divorce filed under the will of the husband) and contested divorce (divorce filed under the will of the wife). This study was carried out by using a case study approach combined with a legal study approach; while in the analysis stage, the author uses qualitative descriptive analysis methods. The results of the research conclude that in Verstek decisions the judges tend to be progressive in accommodating women's rights after divorce, both in cases of Talak divorce and contested divorce.

Abstract

The present study aimed to investigate the coping strategies and quality of life among caregivers of chronic illness patients. The study was conducted among the caregivers from five (5) villages in Sibu District of Sarawak by using a survey research design. A total of sixty seven (67) participants were participated in this study. Two different instruments were used to measure different types of variables. Research data collected was tested and analyzed by using a descriptive statistic and Pearson Correlation. The result revealed that there was a significant relationship between the coping strategies and the quality of life among caregivers of chronic illness patients. The relationship between both coping strategies and domains of quality of life was in a moderate level.  As an implication, counselors should be more aware about the types of coping strategies used by the caregivers because it can affect the individual’s quality of life indirectly.
