Abstract

Durian is a famous native fruit from Southeast Asia and usually sold within durian-cut packaging in the supermarket because it is handy and ready to serve. However, its freshness level is unknown. Sensor, made by sappanwood decoct extract, can be used to detect the fruit freshness within the packaging. The aim of this research was to develop a sensor to detect cut durian freshness based on natural indicators from sappanwood extract. Indicator solution of sappanwood decoction consist of sappanwood decoct extract, phosphate buffer pH 7,5 and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). The color change from sensor was examined by ImageJ software to get mean red. Durian pulp was examined every day to get pH and SSC (Solid Soluable Concentration) value in for 5 days of storage at room temperature. The result of rotten pulp durian was showed by the color-changing of the sensor from red purplish to yellow with mean red 224,215 ± 0,161. Durian pulp freshness in room temperature decreased as the pH decreased from 7,46 to 4,20 and as the SSC decreased from 7,60 to 2,40, followed by the color-changing of the sensor. Furthermore, the level of durian pulp freshness can be detected by freshness sensor based on natural indicators from sappanwood extract at room temperature storage.

Abstract

Phenols contained in coffee beans may also found inthe coffee leaves. Previous research showed that thearabica coffee leaves contain phenolic compounds[1]. Phenolic compounds are compounds that haveone or more hydroxyl groups attached directly to anaromatic ring [2]. Phenolics compounds have manybiological effects, including antioxidant activity [3].Antioxidants are the first line for defense againstfree radical damage, and important for health. Theneed for antioxidants becomes even more criticalwith increased exposure to free radicals. Pollution,cigarette smoke, drugs, illness, stress, and evenexercise can increase free radical exposure [4].The aim of this study was to determine totalphenolic content and antioxidant activity inmethanolic extracts of robusta and arabica coffeeleaves (old and young leaves), as potential sources ofnatural antioxidants. The relationship betweenphenolic content and antioxidant activity was alsoinvestigated.

Abstract

Addiction to gadgets or devices can occur in children or adults. Addiction can happen to anyone, whether they are children or adults. So, if someone becomes addicted to gadgets. The cause of gadget addiction is the habit of interacting without rules, leading people to increasingly feel the pleasure and addiction of interacting in the virtual world. Gadget addiction is very dangerous when experienced by children because it poses problems for them including a lack of socialisation with friends as they already have virtual friends, not communicating with those around them, and health issues such as eyesight problems that can affect a child's emotional stability. From these issues, it is necessary to educate parents to always accompany and limit their children while playing with gadgets. Many parents do not understand how to support their children while playing with gadgets, which is one of the challenges faced by parents at Khodijah 112 Dadapan Kindergarten. Therefore, it is important to raise awareness among parents about how to support their children so that they do not become addicted to gadgets and how parents can understand their children's learning methods to improve their academic performance.

Abstract

Bletok Village is one of the villages in Bungatan District, Situbondo Regency. The main problem in Bletok Village is the lack of understanding regarding PIRT licensing and how to perform digital marketing, as well as the low selling value of their local products. In general, products that have P-IRT licenses have a positive impact on MSME producers in Bletok Village, such as making their product to be easily marketed or distributed legally and expanding consumer reach. The purpose of this community service program is to provide solutions related to the problems faced by the people of Bletok Village, in the form of socializing the understanding of pirt licensing and the digitalization of MSME products in Bletok Village, Situbondo District. The method used is through surveys and outreach. The results obtained from this program is for the MSME community to be able to receive and comprehend information related to PIRT licensing and digital marketing.

Abstract

KKN is activities carried out by students to integrate academic learning with practical experience in the field. Students who undergo KKN will socialize with the surrounding community, identify problems that occur at the KKN location, and find solutions that are relevant to these problems. The results of problem identification by students in Bungatan Village were the lack of public concern for environmental cleanliness and the absence of a Garbage Disposal Site. For this reason, group 160 KKN students stationed in Bungatan Village held a socialization activity on Bungatan Can Clean from Garbage (Busa-Busa). The activity aims to provide knowledge to the Bungatan Village Community regarding the types of waste, how to manage it, and invite all elements of the village apparatus to hold TPS and waste management from TPS to TPA. After this activity, it is hoped that the Bungatan Village Community will become more concerned with the surrounding environment.
