Abstract

Low production of soybean caused by reduction of arable land due inorganic fertilizer contionously. Therefore, it should be done improvements by used liquid organic fertilizer. This research was conducted in Desa Tanjung Anom, Medan with altitude ± 25 meters above sea surface began on September to November 2015. This research used factorial randomized block design with two factors. The first factor was concentration liquid organic fertilizer (20; 40; 60 and 80 ml/L water) and the second factor was application methods liquid organic fertilizer with (spray and flush). Variable  observed was total leaf area, shoot dry weight, root dry weight, dry weight of seeds per plant, dry weight of 100 seeds. The result of this research showed that concentration of liquid organic fertilizer of 40 ml increased the yield of soybean production in almost all the variable observation. Application methods of liquid organic fertilizer by flushed  increased the yield of soybean production in almost all the variable observation. Interaction of concentration and application method of liquid organic fertilizer increased the yield of soybean production with the best treatment combination in concentration of 40 ml and by flushed.   Key words: soybean, liquid organic fertilizer, concentration, application methods

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aimed to determine the effect of compost and foliar fertilizer on the growth and production of Deli tobacco. It was conducted at the Experimental Farm of the Agricultural Faculty, University of North Sumatera, Medan (± 25 m above sea level) began from August until October 2015. The research was arranged with factorial randomized block design with two factors, the first factor was compost (0 g/polybag, 300 g/polybag, 600 g/polybag, and 900 g/polybag) and the second factor was foliar fertilizer (0 g/l of water, 2 g/l of water, 4 g/l of water and 6 g/l of water). The result showed that compost was giving significant effect on diameter of stem 8 weeks after transplanting, length of the sand leaf, width of the sand leaf, length of the feet  leaf I, width of the feet leaf I, length of the feet leaf II, width of the feet leaf II, and root volume. Foliar fertilizer and both of interaction were not giving significant effect on all parameters. Keywords : compost, Deli tobacco, foliar fertilizer ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian kompos dan pupuk daun terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tembakau Deli. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Lahan Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan (± 25 m dpl) pada bulan Agustus sampai Oktober 2015. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial dengan 2 faktor. Faktor pertama adalah pemberian kompos (0 g/polibeg, 300 g/polibeg, 600 g/polibeg, dan 900 g/polibeg). Faktor kedua adalah pupuk daun (0 g/l air, 2 g/l air, 4 g/l air dan 6 g/l air). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian kompos berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter diameter batang 8 MSPT, panjang daun pasir, lebar daun pasir, panjang daun kaki I, lebar daun kaki I, panjang daun kaki I, lebar daun kaki II, dan volume akar. Pemberian pupuk daun serta interaksi keduanya berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap semua parameter. Kata kunci : kompos, pupuk daun, tembakau Deli

Abstract

The influence of percentage of shade on the growth of Mucuna bracteata D.C. seedling origin cuttings with different IAA concentration. The research was conducted in Desa Sendang Rejo, Kecamatan Binjai, Kabupaten Langkat with altitude ± 50 m above the sea level from Juni to September 2015. This research used factorial split plot design with 2 factors. The first factor was Intensity of Shade  ( 0 %, 25 %, 50 %, 75 % ) and the second factors was IAA concentration ( 0 ppm, 100 ppm, 200 ppm ) with 3 replication. The result of the research showed that mucuna seed growth were significantly effect to without shade (0 %) than with application if shade. Application of IAA PGR 200 ppm were significantly effect to increased mucuna growth in 8 week after planting. The best treatment of the research were without shade 0 % (N0) with application of IAA 200 ppm (N0A2).

Abstract

Kedelai merupakan bahan protein nabati dan komoditas penting Indonesia. Produksi kedelai nasional mengalami penurunan setiap tahunnya. Rendahnya produksi kedelai Indonesia salah satunya dikarenakan belum maksimalnya pengetahuan petani dalam penggunaan teknologi produksi yang mendukung pertanian berkelanjutan. Peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat untuk hidup sehat dan kembali ke alam meningkatkan pemberdayaan sistem pertanian organik. Tujuan penelitian yakni untuk mengetahui respons pertumbuhan dan produksi   kedelai terhadap pemberian biochar dan pupuk organik cair. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Desa Namo Gajah, Kecamatan Medan Tuntungan pada Juni - Agustus 2015, menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Faktorial dengan dua faktor yaitu Biochar (0, 4, 8, 12 t/ha) dan Pupuk Organik Cair (20, 40, 60 ml/l). Peubah yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, total luas daun, bobot kering biji per tanaman, dan bobot kering biji per plot. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian biochar meningkatkan total luas daun 3,4 dan 6 MST dan bobot kering biji per plot. Pemberian pupuk organik cair meningkatkan jumlah diameter batang dan total luas daun 4 dan 6 MST.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of the research is to explore, identify and characterize the local Samosir shallot The result was began from June up to July 2015. The method of the research includes exploration by survey, identification by desk study, and characterization to identify the variation of each accession using SPSS and evaluate the closeness of relationship using dendogram. The result showed that exploration to central areas of local shallot cultivation obtained six districts. However, only two districts (six villages; Hatoguan, Palipi, Gopal, Pallombuan, Urat, Sitinjak, Harian) where farmers qualified as respondents. Identification showed the similarity of character times to bloom, times harvest, leaves shapes, flower colors, flower shapes, as well as the bulbs colors, but there was variation on plant length, bulbs diameter, bulbs weight, the number of tillers, leaves number, leaves color, and the shape of bulbs. The farthest relationship with the highest diversity coeficient obtained on the wet weight of bulbs, dry weight of bulbs, and the number of leaf with value 8.11, 7.8, and 7.5 respectively . Key words : characterization, exploration, identification local shallot SamosirABSTRAK Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi, mengidentifikasi dan mengkarakterisasi beberapa aksesi bawang merah lokal Samosir. Penelitian dimulai bulan Juni sampai Juli 2015. Metodologi penelitian mencakup kegiatan eksplorasi melalui survei, identifikasi dengan cara desk study, dan karakterisasi untuk mengidentifikasi adanya variasi tiap aksesi menggunakan program SPSS dan pengelompokan menggunakan dendogram. Hasil eksplorasi didapatkan enam daerah sentra penanaman bawang merah lokal. Namun hanya dua Kecamatan (enam aksesi; Hatoguan, Palipi, Gopal, Pallombuan, Urat, Sitinjak, Harian) yang petaninya memenuhi persyaratan untuk dijadikan responden. Dari identifikasi menunjukan ada kesamaan karakter pada peubah amatan umur mulai berbunga, umur panen, bentuk daun, warna bunga, bentuk bunga, serta warna umbi, namun ada variasi pada panjang tanaman, jumlah daun, diameter umbi, bobot umbi, jumlah anakan, jumlah daun, warna daun, dan bentuk umbi. Aksesi Hatoguan merupakan aksesi yang terbaik dalam rataan data produksi. Kekerabatan terjauh dengan standar deviasi tertinggi didapat pada bobot basah umbi, bobot kering umbi, dan jumlah daun per rumpun yaitu 8,11, 7,8, dan 7,5 secara berurutan. Kata kunci : bawang merah lokal Samosir, eksplorasi, identifikasi, karekterisasi.
