Abstract

The preparation of the Draft Law on the Welfare of Mothers and Children (RUU KIA) is the Government's commitment to realizing a stunting-free golden generation. The MCH Bill provides regulations regarding maternity leave which previously in the Employment Law was 3 months, now it is 6 months. If a mother experiences a miscarriage, leave is given for 1.5 months. The KIA Bill also provides regulations regarding leave for husbands who accompany their wives giving birth, which was originally 2 days in the Manpower Law, now it is 40 days. If the wife experiences a miscarriage, the leave given is 7 days. To realize the objectives of the KIA Bill, providing these leaves is very good. However, this is certainly a matter of debate if it is related to employment. If workers are on leave for too long, it will certainly affect the amount of production, not to mention if there is an inability of employers to continue to provide wages to workers who are on leave. After this research was carried out, we now know the impact on employment related to the KIA (Mother and Child Welfare) Bill. The research method used is a qualitative method with data collection techniques using observation and in-depth interviews. Qualitative data analysis techniques with stages of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The output of this research will be an accredited national journal. It is hoped that the benefits of this research can provide input for the government, employers and workers in responding to the policies contained in the MCH (Mother and Child Welfare) Bill if the MCH Bill is officially passed as law. The output of this research is news articles published in national journals.

Abstract

The decline in economic growth in Indonesia amidst the Covid-19 outbreak has resulted in a drop in income in various industrial, tourism and service sectors, resulting in layoffs. Apart from layoffs, the impact of Covid-19 also caused delays in several payment contracts, even ending in cancellation. Some of the contracts affected by Covid-19 are business contracts that are related to and depend on human movement, such as hospitality, transportation, tourism and manufacturing. Apart from that, there are also contracts in the financing sector such as leasing which are also affected by the downturn in the economy which results in delays in payments by debtors. One of the government's policies to save the national economy is by issuing a policy regarding the Designation of Non-Natural Disasters from the Spread of Covid-19 as National Disasters through Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 12 of 2020.

Abstract

At the end of 2019, the world was shocked by the existence of a new condition, namely the Covid-19 pandemic. In almost two years, the Indonesian government has issued various policies during the Covid-19 pandemic. One of these policies is a prohibition on people gathering and doing activities outside the home, and a recommendation to stay at home. This government policy of course also has an impact on wider sectors, one of which is the employment sector. The employment sector is one of the sectors affected by government policies during the pandemic, because employment is closely related to the economy and industry, many entrepreneurs have had their income reduced because people's consumption power has decreased, and this has a more serious impact on their workers. This research aims to find out the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on employment law in the Yogyakarta area. The subjects of this research are workers who were affected during the Covid-19 pandemic in the Yogyakarta area and resource persons who are experts in labor law. International law is one part of the law that regulates the implementation of international law, international law itself regulates relations between nations, regulates conditions that are in dispute or communication, and provides rights and obligations to each nation. International law has two sources of law, namely formal legal sources and material legal sources.
