Analysis of data in this research uses a qualitative descriptive method which will be presented in a narrative description. Theory used in this research is Globalization Theory according to Ritzer. The result obtained from this study are that Japanese youth consider that gyaru is one of the fashion trends used to express themselves. Although gyaru is popular in Japan, it cannot represent Japan in general because there are many cultures that are more appropriate as symbols of Japan. In addition, gyaru is not an original Japanese culture but a culture influenced by western culture that entered Japan. gyaru will remain popular in the future as it is accepted by many people, even children are starting to wear the gyaru trend. Not only that, many Japanese celebrities have been seen wearing gyaru trend recently on various TV show in Japan.

Abstract

Teaching and learning activities at SD Negeri 11 Dauh Puri Denpasar apart from focusing on academic activities, also carry out non-academic activities such as arts and sports. The implementation of non-academic activities is still considered less than optimal due to the lack of supporting human resources so that students have a lot of free time. With space to fill arts, culture and sports activities, the Japanese Literature Study Program PKM team carried out a program related to Japanese culture, namely the traditional Japanese martial art, Aikido. It is considered good to introduce Aikido to elementary school students because apart from having elements of martial arts, it also has elements of art and culture. Aikido is a type of self-defense with empty hand techniques in the form of locks, throws, attacks, defenses, defenses both in standing and sitting positions. Apart from that, there are also techniques for using weapons in the form of wooden swords, wooden sticks and wooden knives. Aikido, which is a martial arts sport, is important to introduce to students at SDN 11 Dauh Puri because apart from physical training, it is also mental training. The aim of this PKM activity is to fill students' free time on Saturdays with Aikido training for physical, mental training and introduction to foreign cultures. Aikido martial arts does not only emphasize physical attitude, but also a strong spirit to balance their academic and non-academic skills to continue their education at a higher level.

Abstract

Tourism in Bali remains a key economic sector for the Balinese people. According to the Bali Provincial Statistics Agency (BPS), Japanese tourists, ranked among the top 10, recorded 15,889 visitors in December 2024, a +39.19% increase from 11,415 visitors in November of the previous year. Given this reality, tourism operators in Bali are required to provide excellent service related to facilities, human resources, and products that will serve as memories when they leave Bali for their countries. One of the handicraft products produced by the Balinese community is processed silver located at Yan Silver Gianyar, which has been established since the 2000s. Many Japanese tourists visit and purchase its products as souvenirs. Silver crafts as a micro-business activity is a tool to reduce poverty by offering flexible business opportunities and numerous job opportunities and a variety of goods and services to tourists, directly and indirectly (ILO, 2012: 16). This community service activity aims to provide language training that focuses on the steps in making handicraft products at Yan Silver through videos using standard Japanese language services for Japanese tourists. This community service activity is expected to have a positive impact on improving the quality of service to Japanese tourists visiting Yan Silver so that it can become a future reference for tourism practitioners and other tourism entrepreneurs in Bali to leave a good impression in the eyes of tourists to be able to make sustainable tourism which can ultimately improve the welfare of the people in Bali.
