Abstract

Abstract

VCO Bertuah is an MSME in Pekanbaru that produces virgin coconut oil. Bertuah VCO has legality permits in the form of IUMK, NIB and P-IRT Certificate. However, Bertuah VCO does not have a halal certificate, BPOM distribution permit, and product SNI. The marketing of Bertuah VCO products is mostly done online, especially through social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Other digital marketing strategies such as youtube and websites have not been carried out. Based on the results of the activity, it can be concluded that UMKM need assistance to take care of business legality. It is necessary to have active communication between UMKM and government agencies in charge of business licensing. Assistance activities have succeeded in increasing partners' understanding of the business legality management procedures. Assistance activities are very helpful for partners in preparing documents for business legality requirements. Assistance activities increase partners' understanding of digital marketing strategies through the website, instagram and youtube. Assistance activities help partners prepare advertising content in the form of product photos, instagram feed designs, video testimonials, and good ad copywriting.

Abstract

Used oil waste is often dumped on the ground around the workshop, causing soil pollution which can reduce the function of the soil. The most difficult contaminants in used oil waste to decompose are hydrocarbon compounds, which are highly toxic, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). The concentration of oil hydrocarbon contaminants in a sample is determined by measuring the total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) concentration. This study was conducted to determine the germination ability of Helianthus anuus, Less seeds on soil media contaminated with waste oil at different concentrations of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon (TPH). The results showed that the concentration of TPH in the media could inhibit the speed of seed germination. Treatment with low concentration of TPH 2.7% in the media increased % germination, shoot and root length and sprout biomass compared to the medium/intermediate (8.00%) and high (12.26%) TPH treatments and controls. However, there was no significant difference between all treatments regarding germination time and shoot length, although in the low TPH treatment (2.70%) there was a tendency for germination time to be faster than the other treatments, as well as to shoot length which was longer than the other treatments. The higher TPH concentration in the media can inhibit germination time, germination percentage, shoot and root length and biomass. Morphological observations of the growth of sprouts showed an inhibition of root hair formation along with the high TPH content in the media, but all treatments did not affect the growth of the shoots.

Abstract

Andaliman fruit is a typical food source for the Batak tribe and is usually used as a cooking spice under the name "Batak pepper". The fruit used as a spice in cooking is young fruit. This study aims to determine the effect of seed selection by injury on andaliman seed germination, determine the effect of concentration and duration of soaking seeds in coconut water on andaliman seed germination. This study used a Factorial Completely Randomized Design (RALF) with two factors. The fisrt factor is the concentration of coconut water 0%, 50%, 100%. The second factor is the length of immersion time of 12 hours and 24 hours. Parameters observed were germination percentage, vigor index, seed germination time. The results of this study showed that seed selection by wounding and soaking coconut water could not break the dormancy of andaliman seeds. No seeds germinated until 45 DAP. Seed conditions at 45 DAP were 76-88% whole seeds, 4-16% slimy seeds and 4-16% moldy seeds

Abstract

Tampoi (Baccaurea macrocarpa (Miq.) Mull.Arg) is a member of the genus Baccaurea which is distributed mainly in the regions of Borneo and Sumatra. The use of tampoi can be done by exploring the potential of tampoi plants as medicinal plants. The research was conducted to determine the content of secondary metabolites and the results of the analysis of the antioxidant activity of tampoi leaves. The leaf extraction process uses polar solvents in the form of water, 70% ethanol, 70% methanol and non-polar in the form of chloroform, toluene, and n-hexane. Analysis of antioxidant activity using the DPPH method (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazil). The results showed that polar solvents are better used in extracting secondary metabolites of tampoi leaves in non-plar solvents. The conclusion of this study is the types of secondary metabolites contained in tampoi leaves, namely alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, steroids, and triterpenoids. Young tampoi leaves have a stronger antioxidant activity value than old leaves. The most effective solvent for extracting secondary metabolite compounds of tampoi leaves is 70% methanol.

Abstract

Mango is one type of fruit that is most popular with the public. The use of mangoes is only for the flesh for consumption, while the skin and seeds are discarded, causing organic waste in the environment. This study aims to determine the content of secondary metabolites and antioxidant activity in the seeds of arum manis mango (Mangifera indica Linn.), kweni mango (Mangifera odorata Griff.) and bacang mango (Mangifera foetida Lour.). Mango seed extract was made by maceration method using 70% methanol solvent. The phytochemical test was carried out qualitatively and the antioxidant activity test was carried out using the DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1- picrihidrazyl) method. The results of the phytochemical tests showed that the methanol extracts from the seeds of arum manis, kweni and bacang mangoes contained the same secondary metabolites, namely alkaloids, flavonoids, triterpenoids, tannins and saponins. Bacang mango seeds have a higher content of secondary metabolites compared to arum manis and kweni mango seeds. Antioxidant activity test showed that the methanol extract of arummanis, kweni and bacang mango seeds had an IC value below 50 which was classified as very strong antioxidant activity. Of the three samples, arum manis mango seed extract had the strongest antioxidant activity (2.84 µg/mL) compared to bacang mango seeds (2.85 µg/mL) and kweni (3.22 µg/mL).
