Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to analyze the effect of COVID-19 on banking resilience in Indonesia and to investigate whether there are differences in the effect of COVID-19 on Islamic and conventional banks. Using panel regression with robust standard error on 38 conventional banks and sharia banks going public in Indonesia, covering the period before the COVID-19 pandemic (Q3 2018-Q4 2019) and during the COVID-19 pandemic (Q1 2020 – Q2 2021), it shows that the existence of the covid-19 crisis has a significant effect on all bank financial performance indicators, but not significant on all bank risk indicators. Using the independent t-Test test with the assumption of unequal variance and Welch correction, this study conducts a comparative test based on six panels of criteria and found that Islamic banks are more resilient than conventional banks. Keywords: Resilience, Bank Financial Performance, Bank Risk, Covid-19 Abstrak. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to measure efficiency level of sharia banking in Malysia and Indonesia countries and to analyze the factors affecting the level of efficiency of sharia banking for both countries. This reseach uses DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) method in order to test the assumptions of Variabel Return to Scale (VRS), and uses Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Mann Whitney U-Test in order to test normality, and uses regression dummy variable of the data from the first quarter of 2011 until the fourth quarter of 2014. The research shows overall level of efficiency of sharia banking in Malaysia and Indonesia countries are fluctuating. Based on result, sharia banking in Indonesia more efficient than sharia banking in Malaysia; However, there is no significant differences among them. The reasons of this inefficiency are deposits, total  financing, fixed asset, and personnel cost. Abstract

This study seeks to see the relationship between the human development index (HDI) and gross regional domestic product (GRDP) variables on the happiness of economic growth data for provinces in Indonesia. The method used in this research is regression and path analysis.  This study proves that happiness is not caused by the income (GRDP) of a region but rather significantly by one of the dimensions of HDI, namely the education dimension. The relationship through the variable between using path analysis through the indirect effect of the GRDP intermediary also significantly affects the education dimension. About 60% of the variable quality of education plays a role in happiness. If the effect is through an intermediary variable, the real influence of the variable quality of education on happiness is 65%. Other variables such as health and economy, directly or indirectly, do not significantly affect the level of happiness.JEL Classification: I3, E5, R10How to Cite:Rizal, S., & Fitrianto, A. (2021). Abstract

This paper attempts to analyze the bourgeois religious lifestyle of celebrities' hijrah from the perspective of globalization by focusing on how imperialism influences this lifestyle and why it is in line with the global economy. The theory used is the globalization theory of Gill Branston and Roy Stafford. The qualitative research approach is based on online and printed literature from books, websites, journals, and relevant research results. After the data is collected, the data analysis uses the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, namely data reduction, data display, interpretation, and conclusion. This study concludes that a bourgeois religious lifestyle is a form of Islamic identity for hijrah celebrities. The lifestyle displayed is bourgeois but does not leave Islam a symbol of Piety. The interpretation of the hijrah celebrity towards globalization is to construct it as a religious bourgeois identity. Cultural imperialism is a factor in forming the religious bourgeois lifestyle of celebrities who migrate in the identity displayed in the public space outside the network and in the public space in the network. The bourgeois religious lifestyle of hijrah celebrities can be in line with the interests of the global economy because they both need and complement each other.

Abstract

To launch a sustainable economic empowerment program, a portfolio of productive waqf assets is required to determine the diversification or distribution of waqf assets in several economic sectors, including the placement of both financial assets and real assets. This research was conducted to determine the implementation of productive cash waqf empowerment programs carried out by several Nazhir institutions, so that the asset management strategy of the productive cash waqf empowerment program portfolio can be identified and the economic and social impacts of the productive cash waqf empowerment program. This research is a qualitative research conducted by observing and mapping professional Nazhir-Nazhir productive waqf programs that are scattered in the Nazhir region and have been initiated since 2015 until now. The technical analysis used is a SWOT analysis to see how much strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of each Nazhir are in placing and forming a portfolio of waqf assets. The results of this research show that the basis for the placement of productive cash waqf for Nazhir institutions is the orientation of the alaihi alaih which is the target of empowerment so that sustainable development can be achieved. The formation of cash waqf asset portfolios is classified based on the types of empowerment programs. And the chosen strategy is the SO strategy, which is a strategy that uses strength and takes advantage of existing opportunities to develop cash waqf. In the SO strategy, Nazhir's collaboration with LKSPWU and Financial Technology can increase the collection of cash waqf funds collected. High literacy or socialization of waqf to the community can increase the potential for earning cash waqf. The integration or combination of cash waqf programs with waqf assets is proven to be bisaed in optimizing the utilization of waqf assets so that they can provide more benefits for the alaihi alaihi alaih. The cash waqf program that is structured also adapts to the needs of the local community, so that it is right on target and has an economic and social impact on the community. Nazhir's collaboration with educational, health, economic and social institutions facilitates the absorption of cash waqf returns. The aforementioned matters become targets and recommendations for Nazhir institutions that have launched cash waqf programs so that their placement is more optimal and right on target. Of course, also taking into account the amount of the cost of funds or cost of equity will be achieved from the results of a business feasibility study that has been done before.

The methodology used is qualitative with a literature study approach. Data was collected from various journals, books, and research results published online. Data analysis techniques use flowing techniques (data reduction, data display, and drawing research conclusions). The nature of data analysis carried out in the study is descriptive-analytical by making descriptions and analyzing all library data that has been obtained. This study concludes that the Da’wah Tarbiyah of KAMMI has a romantic relationship with Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) and the Muslim Brotherhood. The typology of the Da’wah Tarbiyah is conservative, accommodating, and reformist, carrying out the vision of uniting the state with Islam. KAMMI built Da’wah Tarbiyah by conducting political communication with the PKS as the house of the movement. This organization makes public opinion so that the Muslim community accepts Da’wah Tarbiyah. This extra-campus organization fights political communication and public opinion by integrating da’wah and politics so that Islam can become a formal ideology in building the country.

Abstract

The discourse of this research analyzes the da'wah of digital memes with the visualization of women that spread on the internet. In answering these problems, this research uses qualitative research. The mass media textual tool as an analytical tool is used to answer this problem, namely Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotics. This theory is divided into several concepts, namely sign, marker, signified, denotation, and connotation. The results of the study found that the digital da'wah sign in the Friday prayer meme is the headscarf. Digital da'wah markers in memes are women wearing headscarves, the hijab phenomenon, and Muslim women praying. The signs of digital meme propaganda are the reward for Friday prayers, sunnah of the Prophet, and pornography. The denotation meaning of digital da'wah in the meme is that a Muslim man cannot leave the Friday prayer service. Because the characteristics of a good leader or priest for a woman are men who fulfill the obligations of Friday prayer. Connotatively, digital da'wah uses memes to visualize women that Friday prayers only aim to get a woman's reward. The female body, namely the jilboobs, is constructed to call on men to want to perform Friday prayers. Digital da'wah uses memes with connotations because women are constructed as signs, signifiers, and markers to invite men to perform Friday prayers. Muslim women's bodies are constructed as sexual objects to invite Muslim men to perform Friday prayers.

Analyze the short-term relationship between macroeconomic variables with JII Stock Price and Trade Volume and analyze the long-term relationship between macroeconomic variables with JII Stock Price and Trade Volume. The sample used is the JII30 Index and the trading volume from JII 30 from 2008-2020. The results of this study indicate three things, firstly it is found that several variables have a causal relationship in either one or two directions, then from testing the short-term effect it is found that only the oil price variable has a significant effect on JII while other variables do not, while the short-term effect test It was found that all macroeconomic variables had no significant effect on volume. Finally, from the long-term test results, only the Inflation variable has no significant effect on the JII variable in the long term, while only the BI Rate and Inflation variables have no significant effect on trading volume.

Abstract

This study analyzes the ideological construction of the mass media in reporting on religious moderation and its relation to moderate da’wah on Kompas.com and Mediaindonesia.com. This research is a type of qualitative research. News as a unit of analysis was selected by purposive sampling each of 3 (news) for each media. Problems are analyzed with Robert M. Entman's framing analysis which is part of the analysis of mass media texts. This research concludes that Kompas and Media Indonesia construct ideology in religious moderation news which is associated with issues of intolerance and radicalism. These two national media construct news on religious moderation using a moderate national ideology. Concerning moderate da’wah, these two national media do not directly write news with moderate da’wah messages. These two national media construct support for moderate da’wah narratives by constructing religious moderation news. Ideologically, these two national online news media construct news by supporting the practice of religious moderation and the practice of moderate da’wah. The implication is that these two national online mass media need to continue to produce news campaigning for religious moderation and moderate da’wah. News construction related to religious moderation and moderate da’wah needs to be done to help prevent the emergence of radical, extremist, and liberal views.
