Abstract

This study examines the impact of electromagnetic radiation exposure from Extra High Voltage Overhead Transmission Lines (EHV OTL) on human health in the Banten region, Indonesia. SUTET, which operates at a voltage of 500 kV, generates an electromagnetic field that can affect the health of the surrounding community. The research was conducted through in-depth interviews with 30 respondents, consisting of residents around the SUTET, medical personnel, and health experts. The interview results showed that 70% of respondents were concerned about the health impacts of SUTET, with the most common complaints including headaches (45%), sleep disturbances (30%), and chronic fatigue (25%). In addition, the majority of respondents felt they did not receive sufficient information regarding the safe exposure limits to electromagnetic fields. Nevertheless, the public's knowledge about the long-term effects of electromagnetic fields is still limited. The thematic analysis found a gap in information between the public and existing regulations. This research implies the need for better educational measures from the government and related institutions regarding the dangers of SUTET and electromagnetic radiation. Furthermore, it is recommended that further research be conducted to establish safe exposure limits to electromagnetic fields in Indonesia, as well as to formulate more effective policies to protect public health around SUTET transmission lines.

Abstract

Circular economy is an economic activity that emphasizes the use of resources aimed at reducing emissions and energy released. The benefits of implementing a circular economy are absorbing labour, reducing waste, reducing pollution, and preserving nature. The circular economy system is the opposite of the conventional economic system. The conventional economic system only exploits nature to produce goods for use and after that is discarded. The five activities that are at the core of the circular economy concept are reduce, reuse, recycle, recover, and revalue. Circular economy will generate benefits from both economic, social and environmental aspects. From an economic perspective, this concept will use waste products from previous production processes or other economic actors to end waste treatment globally. From a social aspect, this concept can create new job opportunities, encourage community participation, and use collective goods and services more efficiently than individually. From an environmental aspect, by utilizing waste from product sharing, it will reduce the environmental burden from the exploitation of raw materials and pollution. The circular economy system will create benefits not only making the environment healthier but also having a positive impact on the economy, absorbing labour and creating long-term economic resilience.

Abstract

One of them is spreading hoaxes, a major challenge that arises in the current technological era that threatens social, political, and religious structures. The purpose of this article is to thoroughly examine the ethical principles of information delivery based on the hadiths taught by the Prophet Muhammad, as well as their relationship to efforts to combat hoaxes in society. The method used in this study is qualitative using a literature research methodology on true hadiths related to honesty, certainty of information (tabayyun), prohibit spreading false information, and the importance of communication intentions. Hadith, according to the research, the Prophet has strong moral values in changing responsive communication behavior. The ethical values contained in the hadith can help build public awareness to prevent hoaxes and build a healthy information culture in the modern era. This is because the hadith can serve as a normative foundation to build public awareness not to easily believe and spread false information.

Abstract

Tropical forests play an important role as carbon sinks and biomass stores, including through the litter produced by vegetation. Litter contributes to nutrient cycling, maintains soil fertility, and is an important component of ecosystem carbon reserves. This study aims to estimate the biomass and carbon content of litter in the Jaboi Hot Spring Flow Area, Sukajaya District, Sabang City. The study was conducted in June 2025 using a 100 m long line transect method with four transects, each consisting of 18 1 x 1 m plots. Leaf litter samples were collected, their wet weight was measured, dried in an oven for 48 hours, and their carbon content was calculated based on the percentage of organic carbon of 0.47. The results showed a total litter biomass of 8,106 kg/m² with an average of 2,027 kg/m², and a total litter carbon of 3,809 kg/m² with an average of 0,952 kg/m². The highest values were found at Station 3 (2,354 kg/m² and 1,106 kg/m²) and the lowest at Station 1 (1,691 kg/m² and 0,795 kg/m²). Variations in values are influenced by soil physical-chemical factors, vegetation density, and climatic conditions, which influence production and decomposition rates. These results emphasize the importance of monitoring biomass and litter carbon to support forest management and conservation.
