Abstract

Hydroponics is a method without using soil media, but by using a solution of minerals, sand, broken bricks, sawdust, etc. which serve as a substitute for soil media. Cultivation of hydroponic vegetables belonging to the village-owned enterprise (BUMG) of the Beurawe village was established with the aim of increasing the economic growth of the community, being able to accommodate labor, having additional income for the community.

Abstract

The utilization of plants as traditional Aceh food is a hereditary action for generations. Today, there are some tendencies that the knowledge of traditional Aceh food is declining. Various foreign and instant foods which enter Aceh are one of the tendency causes. The circumstance in Aceh which is not conducive makes many variety of plants in the forest are no longer use. The missing generation as an effect of earthquake and tsunami disaster happened in Aceh brings possibility of loosing knowledge of traditional Aceh food.This research aims to make a proposal of plants utilizing management as material of traditional Acehn food from local knowledge to be sustained for generations in Banda Aceh. It can be conducted in: (1) knowing the kinds of plants used for Aceh food by society. (2) Knowing the value and contribution of utilizing plants as traditional Aceh food for society. This research conducted from June to August 2005, continued in January until March 2006.The collecting of data conducted in two villages. They are in Lam Ara village in Banda Raya sub district and Darussalam village in Syiah kuala sub district. The technique of data collecting is with interview, intake of plants sample in field and field observation. Determining of responder conducted with the random stratification sampling method which is divided into three groups.Result of research indicate that there are 118 plant type consisted of 43 familia. Among 43 familia from plant used in traditional Aceh food, there are 5 familia which its use most often.  They are Fabaceae, Rutaceae, Solanaceae, Rubiaceae And Euphorbiaceae. Among plants used by society there are 16 kinds of plants have been generated intensively, 25 kinds are not intensively generated, 36 kinds is obtained from forest or wild nature. And 23 kinds of plant utilized come from outside area. This result is obtained from 51 kinds of Traditional Aceh food. Potential Plant developed among other things are shallot ( Allium Cepa L.) with the value of plant utilizing at  food is more than 28 food, garlic ( Allium Sativum L.), red pepper ( Capsicum Annum L.), and coconut ( Cocos Nucifera L.) with the value of plants utilizing is between 22 to 28 at traditional Aceh food.

Abstract

The Ketambe Research Center is a natural laboratory and one of the nature conservation areas in Indonesia which are rich in biodiversity, located in Gunung Leuser National Park (TNGL). One of the plants found was the Kayu Lasun plant (Dysoxylum alliaceum) which has allelopathic substances. This allelopathic substance can theoretically inhibit the growth, development, and interaction (association) of other plants. The objective was to determine the association of Lasun wood (Dysoxylum alliaceum) with other plants at the Ketambe Research Center. The quadratic method was used as the research design, the station was determined by purposive sampling based on the presence of lasun wood plants (Dysoxylum alliaceum) using non-destructive sampling. Square plots were placed according to the cardinal directions. This study showed the types of plant associations in the area around Lasun wood (Dysoxylum alliaceum) at all observation points found positive and negative types with the degree (strength) of association in the weak category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan pada tanggal 12-17 Agustus 2012. Tujuan penelitian adalah (1) Untuk mengetahui kepadatan spesies plankton yang terdapat di waduk Keuliling KecamatanKuta Cot Glie Kabupaten Aceh Besar; (2) untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman spesies plankton yang terdapat di Waduk Keuliling Kecamatan Kuta Cot Glie Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode purpovise sampling, pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada lima stasiun. Objek penelitian ini adalah semua spesies plankton yang terdapat di wilayah penelitian. Analisis data secara deskriptif dalam bentuk tabel dan gambar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 26 spesies plankton yang ditemukan, kepadatan plankton di Waduk Keuliling Kecamatan Kuta Cot Glie Kabupaten Aceh Besar adalah 15463,918 ind/l. Spesies yang mendominasi dari golongan Fitoplankton adalah spesies Gloetrichia echinulata 30% (1299,674 ind/L) sedangkan golongan zooplankton didominasi oleh spesies Branchionus sp 64 % (837,078 ind/L). Hasil analisis indeks keanekaragaman di perairan Waduk Keuliling Kecamatan Kuta Cot Glie Kabupaten Aceh Besar menunjukkan keanekaragaman sedang dengan indeks keanekaragaman 3,150. Kata Kunci: Keanekaragaman, Plankton dan Waduk Keliling This study was conducted on 12 to 17 August 2012. The purpose of the study is (1) To determine the density of plankton species found in reservoirs Keuliling KecamatanKuta Cot Glie Aceh Besar district. (2) To determine the diversity of plankton species contained in the reservoir Keuliling Kuta Cot Glie District of Aceh Besar district. The method used is purpovise sampling method, sampling was conducted at five stations. Object of this research is all the plankton species found in the study area. Analysis of descriptive data in the form of tables and figures. The results showed that of the 26 species of plankton are found, the density of plankton in reservoirs Keuliling Kuta Cot Glie District of Aceh Besar is 15463.918 ind / l. Dominating species is a species of phytoplankton groups Gloetrichia echinulata 30% (1299.674 ind / L) while the group is dominated by species of zooplankton Branchionus sp 64% (837.078 ind / L). The results of the analysis of diversity index in reservoir waters Keuliling Kuta Cot Glie District of Aceh Besar showed diversity with diversity index was 3.150. Abstract

Ie Suum geothermal manifestation area is a hot sering resource in Ie Suum Village at Aceh Besar regency. Ie Suum hot spring is a stretch of Seulawah Agam mountain and is one of the most active volcanic mountains in Aceh. This area has higher temperature and soil pH compared to areas far from geothermal areas. Therefore, this study can be associated with the unique characteristics of vegetation of geothermal areas will be different from vegetation plants that exist in other vegetation types. This research was conducted by quadrat transect method by determining the location of the research by purposive sampling divided into four point (station) with size determined based on plant habitus that is: herb (1x1 m2), bush / shrub (2x2 m2), pole ( 5x5 m2), and trees (10x10 m2). Data analysis is done qualitatively and quantitatively. Quantitative analysis of data by using vegetation analysis are: density (Kr), Frequency (Fr), Dominance (Dr), and Diversity Index (Ĥ). The results of the study found 23 families consisting of 34 species with a total number of individuals as many as 534 scattered in 4 observation stations divided into herbaceous plants, shrubs, poles and trees. Important Value Index (INP) vegetation in geothermal manifestation area of Ie Suum in all stations was obtained by INP 225,86%. This value belongs to the high category. The species species that have the highest index of other species Axonopus compressus is 17.02%, while the lowest Importance Value Index is Clidemia hirta with a value of 1.32%. The high value of INP Axonopus compressus is due to this species living on dry soil moisture and high acidity. The biodiversity index (Ĥ) of geothermal area of Ies Suum of Mesjid Raya District of Aceh Besar is Ĥ = 3,508. Vegetation of plants in the geothermal area ie suum belong to the high category due to plants that can adapt to high environmental physical-chemical conditions.

Abstract

One type of algae that potentially reduces palm oil mill effluent is Spirogyra sp. Spirogyra sp. Has a wide distribution on the coast of Indonesia and is still underutilized by pond farmers. This study aims to test the efficiency of Spirogyra as a bioremediation agent of palm oil liquid waste and to examine the effect of palm oil liquid waste on the growth of Spirogyra. This research was conducted from March to July 2017. The research design consisted of five treatments, treatment A control (0 mL.L-1), B treatment (25 mL.L-1), C treatment (50 mL.L-1) ), Treatment D (75 mL.L-1) and E treatment (100 mL.L-1). Abstract

Information related to osteology plays a vital role in support ecomorphology and phylogenetic relationship analysis in fish. This study aimed to describe the comparative morphology of the vertebral column between Tor tambroides (Bleeker, 1854) and Tor tambra (Valenciennes 1842). Samples of Tor tambroides and Tor tambra were obtained from fish traders in the Tangse River area of Pidie Regency and Sampoinet River area, Aceh Jaya Regency, Aceh Province. Vertebral column preparation consists of five steps: muscles and scales separation, immersion in a formaldehyde solution, drying, morphometric measurements, photographing and image editing, and identification of terminology. The results showed that there are morphological differences between Tor tambroides and Tor tambra vertebral column, particularly in the axial vertebrae, posterior vertebrae caudales, and urostylus regions. The pleural costae of Tor tambroides have a posterior curve with the left and right sides interlocking. The lateral Tor tambroides process tends to curve posteriorly, while the Tor tambra tends to round up parallel to the dorsal costae. Tor tambroides tend to have stronger ligaments marked by the absence of a foramen between the hypural. Morphometrically, Tor tambroides tend to have higher centrum ratios (length, width, and height), neural spine, haemalis spine, and costae compared to Tor tambra. The significant difference in morphometric results in observed the axial vertebrae and the posterior vertebrae caudales region. Further research related to the correlation of vertebral column morphology with the environmental condition of these fish is still necessary. Abstrak Kajian osteologi memiliki peran penting dalam upaya analisis ekomorfologi dan hubungan filogenetik antarjenis ikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskrispsikan perbedaan morfologi tulang belakang Tor tambroides (Bleeker, 1854) dan Tor tambra (Valenciennes 1842). Contoh ikan Tor tambroides dan Tor tambra dikoleksi dari hasil tangkapan nelayan di wilayah Sungai Tangse Kabupaten Pidie dan wilayah Sungai Sampoinet, Kabupaten Aceh Jaya, Provinsi Aceh. Tahapan preparasi tulang belakang terdiri atas lima tahapan yaitu pemisahan otot dan sisik, perendaman dalam larutan formalin, penjemuran, pengukuran morfometrik, pemotretan dan penyuntingan gambar, serta identifikasi terminologi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan morfologi tulang belakang antara Tor tambroides dan Tor tambra terutama pada bagian axial vertebrae, posterior vertebrae caudales dan urostylus. Tulang pleura costae Tor tambroides memiliki bentuk melengkung ke arah posterior dengan bagian kiri dan kanan saling bertautan. Processus lateralis Tor tambroides cenderung melengkung ke arah posterior, sedangkan pada Tor tambra cenderung membulat sejajar dengan dorsal costae. Tor tambroides cenderung memiliki ligamen yang lebih kokoh ditandai dengan tidak adanya foramen diantara os hypural. Secara morfometrik tulang belakang, Tor tambroides cenderung memiliki nilai nisbah centrum (panjang, lebar dan tinggi), spina neuralis, spina haemalis dan costae yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan Tor tambra. Disparitas hasil pengukuran antara kedua jenis ikan terlihat cukup kentara pada bagian axial vertebrae dan bagian posterior vertebrae caudales. Penelitian lanjutan terkait korelasi morfologi tulang belakang dengan kondisi perairan kedua jenis ikan masih perlu dilakukan.

Abstract

Penyu merupakan hewan yang tergolong pada kondisi terancam punah. Hal ini terjadi disebabkan dari penangkapan penyu yang terjadi secara terus menerus dan berkelanjutan, juga disebabkan oleh rusaknya habitat peneluran, terganggunya jalur migrasi bagi penyu, serta terjadinya pencemaran lingkungan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui karakteristik kondisi bio-fisik pantai tempat peneluran penyu di Lhok Pantê Tibang Gampong Deah Raya Kecamatan Syiah Kuala. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah metode survey eksploratif dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode garis berpetak. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa terdapat 14 spesies tumbuhan yang tergolong ke dalam 9 familia. Indek Nilai Penting (INP) tertinggi adalah pada tumbuhan Calotropis gigantea sebesar 32,45877061 dan nilai Indeks Keanekaragaman sebesar 0,270928258. kemiringan pantai tergolong datar, dengan lebar total pantai berkisar antara 26,33 m – 51.8 m dengan rata-rata berkisar antara 13.16 m – 25.9 m. Suhu paling tinggi yaitu 42.8 0C, dengan kelembaban sebesar 67% dan pH yang netral.

Abstract

Analisis vegetasi adalah suatu cara mempelajari susunan dan atau komposisi vegetasi secara bentuk (struktur) vegetasi dari tumbuh-tumbuhan. Penelitian tentang “Analisis Vegetasi Tumbuhan Dengan Metode Transek (Line Transect) Di Kawasan Hutan Deudap, Pulo Aceh,Kab. Aceh Besar” telah dilakukan pada bulan April 2017. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi vegetasi yang ada pada kawasan hutan Deudap Pulo Nasi, Kecamatan Pulo Aceh, Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode line transek  dengan panjang 60 meter serta lebar kiri kanan 10 meter dan jumlah plot yang dibuat sebanyak 15 plot. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis kuantitatif untuk mengetahui kondisi vegetasi tumbuhan di kawasan hutan Desa Deudap, Aceh Besar. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh 4 spesies yang memiliki angka penting tertinggi yaitu Aquilaria malaccensis sebesar 8.323, Pterospernum javanicum sebesar 8.189, Eurycoma longieflolia sebesar 7.399 dan Vitex pinnata 7.561.

Abstract

Makroalga merupakan salah satu topik atau kajian pada mata kuliah Ekologi Tumbuhan yang dapat dipraktikumkan oleh mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi UIN Ar-Raniry. Kegiatan praktikum tentang struktur komunitas makroalga belum terlaksana karena selama ini praktikum yang dilakukan hanya tentang tumbuhan terestrial saja, dan mahasiswa masih sedikit mengenal tumbuhan aquatik khususnya makroalga, sehingga harus dikaji lebih lanjut tentang struktur komunitas makroalga perairan Pantai Air Berudang untuk menambah data dan referensi untuk praktikum mata kuliah Ekologi Tumbuhan. Penelitian struktur komunitas makroalga ekosistem terumbu karang perairan Pantai Air Berudang Kabupaten Aceh Selatan dilakukan pada bulan Februari 2016 yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur komunitas makroalga ekosistem terumbu karang, mengetahui jenis substrat yang ditempati oleh makroalga ekosistem terumbu karang, dan mengetahui pemanfaatan hasil penelitian struktur komunitas makroalga ekosistem terumbu karang di perairan Pantai Air Berudang Kabupaten Aceh Selatan dapat dijadikan referensi praktikum Ekologi Tumbuhan. Metode penelitian dilakukan secara survey eksploratif, sedangkan pengambian sampel menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian struktur komunitas makroalga ditemukan 9 famili dari 11 spesies, yaitu Caulerpaceae, Sargassaceae, Dictyotaceae, Halimedaceae, Galaxauraceae, Bonnemaisoniaceae, Chaetangiaceae, Argassaceae, Argassaceae. Berdasarkan indeks nilai penting diperoleh hasil, yaitu 2,0000, indeks kelimpahan berjumlah 1055 individu/m2, indeks keanekaragaman jumlah 1,9916, indeks keseragaman 0,8306, dan indeks dominansi 0,07298. Jenis substrat yang ditempati makroalga adalah pasir, batu berpasir, pasir berbatu dan batu karang. Pemanfaatan hasil penelitian berupa modul, buku saku, herbarium basah dan poster.
