Abstract

Karboksimetil kitosan merupakan derivate dari kitosan yang diperoleh melalui proses eterifikasi alkalis kitosan dengan asam monokloroasetat. Kitosan diperoleh dari deasetilasi kitin dalam kulit udang putih (Penaeus vannamei). Keberadaan kitin dalam kulit udang tidak dalam keadaan bebas, akan tetapi berikatan dengan protein, mineral, dan berbagai macam pigmen (zat warna). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mensintesis dan mengkarakterisasi karboksimetil kitosan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh kitosan sebanyak 17,33% (per berat serbuk kulit udang) dan karboksimetil kitosan sebanyak 42% (per berat kitosan). Spektum IR karboksimetil kitosan menunjukan melebarnya serapan dari vibrasi ulur gugus -OH yang tumpang tindih dengan serapan vibrasi ulur –NH serta semakin tajamnya intensitas serapan pita ulur C=O dan vibrasi ulur C-O. Kadar air dari kitosan hasil sintesis sebesar 2,13% sedangkan karboksimetil kitosan sebesar 11,86%. Kadar abu kitosan hasil sintesis sebesar 0,73%, sedangkan kadar abu karboksimetil kitosan sebesar 0,93%. Swelling untuk kitosan hasil sintesis sebesar 163,13% sedangkan untuk karboksimetil kitosan sebesar 182,98 %.

Abstract

Chitosan is a biopolymer that has adsorption ability toward dye substances due to its amino and hydroxyl functional groups. Thisstudy aimed to synthesize chitosan and chitosan beads from jerbung shrimp shell, and to test their adsorption ability on rhodamine Bdye. The chitosan and chitosan beads product of the synthesis were characterized using Fourier Transform Infra-Red Spectrophotometer(FTIR) as well as the determination of water content, ash content, and swelling effect. The adsorption ability of chitosan and chitosanbeads on rhodamine B was tested using the parameters of maximum wavelength as well as the effect of variation of pH and contact time.The results of the study showed that the synthesis gave result to chitosan and chitosan beads with water content of 4.45% and 6.84%, ashcontent of 0.1% and 2.83%, and the swelling effect of 143.43 and 94.05%, respectively. Chitosan and chitosan beads adsorb rhodamineB optimally at pH 4 and 3 with a contact time of 120 and 180 minutes, respectively at a maximum wavelength of 554.2 nm.

Abstract

Pemberian pelatihan terhadap kelompok PKK adalah salah satu bentuk kepedulian kepada para perempuan. Telah dilakukan kegiatan pelatihan yang diikuti ibu-ibu PKK RT 1 RW 3 desa Karangsari dalam upaya peningkatan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan. Pelatihan yang dilakukan meliputi pembuatan pewangi laundry dan penetapan harga produk. Setelah pelatihan tumbuh motivasi Ibu-ibu PKK untuk mengembangkan usaha pewangi laundry sehingga dapat meningkatkan pendapatan keluarga. Pendampingan dalam pengembangan usaha pewangi laundry juga dilakukan. Secara keseluruhan kegiatan pendampingan kelompok PKK desa Karangsari telah berjalan dengan baik. Indikator keberhasilan kegiatan ini dilihat dari kenaikan nilai pretest dan postest dari Ibu-ibu setelah mengikuti kegiatan. Selain itu juga dilihat dari berjalannya home industri pewangi laundry yang dimotori oleh Ibu-ibu PKK RT 1 RW 3 desa Karangsari.[Providing training to PKK groups is a form of caring for women. Training activities have been carried out by PKK RT 1 RW 3 women in Karangsari village to increase their knowledge and skills. The training included manufacturing laundry-perfume and product pricing. After the training, the motivation of the PKK mothers grew to develop a laundry-perfume business to increase family income. Assistance in developing the laundry- perfume business was also conducted. Overall the activities of the Karangsari village PKK group assistance had been going well. An indicator of the success of this activity can be seen from the increase in the pretest and posttest scores of mothers after participating in the activity. It was also seen from the running of the laundry- perfume home industry driven by PKK RT 1 RW 3 Karangsari village.]

Abstract

Carboxymethyl chitosan has antimicrobial activity. The solubility of carboxymethyl chitosan makes it easy to apply as a food preservative. Sausage is a processed product of meat, and it is classifiedas perishable food. The purpose of this study was to synthesize carboxymethyl chitosan, investigate the microbiological quality and shelf-life of homemade sausage treated with carboxymethyl chitosan. Carboxymethyl chitosan was obtainedthrough the process of carboxymethylation of alkaline chitosan with monochloroacetic acid. Chitosan in the study was synthesizedfrom shrimp skin. Sausages treated with carboxymethyl chitosan then measured water content, ash content, TPC (Total Plate Count) and organoleptic values for four consecutive days. The results showed that carboxymethyl chitosan couldextend the shelf life of sausages both stored at room temperature or cold temperatures.

Abstract

Industri batik menghasilkan air limbah dengan kandungan zat warna yang tinggi. Salah satu usaha industri batik yang berkembang baik, terdapat di Sokaraja Banyumas. Metode yang potensial untuk pengolahan limbah batik yaitu dengan memanfaatkan jamur indigenous. Aspergillus sp. 3 dapat digunakan untuk dekolorisasi limbah batik Indigosol Blue. Dekolorisasi limbah batik dapat menggunakan teknik amobilisasi atau perlekatan pada substrat. Bentonit merupakan jenis mineral lempung yang memiliki potensi sebagai support material amobilisasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan jamur Aspergillus sp. 3 yang teramobil bentonit dengan lama waktu inkubasi berbeda terhadap dekolorisasi limbah batik, dan mengetahui waktu lama inkubasi yang efektif pada penggunaan jamur Aspergillus sp. 3 yang teramobil bentonit terhadap dekolorisasi limbah batik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan waktu inkubasi 0, 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36 jam. Variabel bebas yaitu waktu inkubasi, sedangkan variabel terikat yaitu kemampuan jamur Aspergillus sp. 3 yang teramobil bentonit dalam dekolorisasi limbah batik. Parameter utama berupa persentase dekolorisasi limbah batik IB, sedangkan parameter pendukung adalah pH, suhu, TDS, dan pemakaian berulang pelet miselium teramobil bentonit. Data persentase dekolorisasi dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam pada tingkat kesalahan 5% dilanjutkan uji Beda Nyata Lanjut dengan tingkat kesalahan 5%. Waktu inkubasi 6 jam merupakan waktu yang efektif bagi Aspergillus sp. 3 teramobil bentonit untuk mendekolorisasi limbah batik IB sebesar 97,43%, pH berkisar 5,40-7,30, suhu berkisar 30-31 ºC, persentase TDS berkisar 14,63-40,31, dan pemakaian berulang pelet miselium teramobil bentonit sampai 3 kali.

Abstract

Malachite green dye is widely used in the textile industry. Wastewater contaminated with malachite green dye threatens aquatic life and human health. Therefore, adsorption is needed in the dye waste treatment process. This research aims to synthesize magnetic carboxymethyl chitosan as an adsorbent for malachite green dye. Magnetic carboxymethyl chitosan was synthesized via a coprecipitation method and analyzed using FTIR. Batch experiments were used to study the adsorption of malachite green dye under adsorption parameters, such as the effects of pH and time, adsorption kinetics, isotherms, and reusability. The research results show that at pH 4, malachite green adsorbed most effectively into magnetic carboxymethyl chitosan. The pseudo-second-order kinetic model and the Langmuir adsorption isotherm model describe the adsorption process. Reduction for malachite green chitosan, carboxymethyl chitosan, and magnetic carboxymethyl chitosan were 34.19, 83.24, and 91.34%, respectively.
